    Hi Scott!! My guess about why your location had a Munch Jr. is because that location is a retrofitted Showbiz Pizza or at least the band is. This is due to "Concept Unification", which was a process converting all Showbiz Pizza places to Chuck E. Cheeses/Pizza Time Theatres when the two companies combined. This happened in the early 90s so it does match up with your timeline!
    They're also rare because kids would mess with them or vandalize them.

    It's nice to see themed restaurants like this actually thrive and actually look as good as or better than they did when they opened. We had a similar alien/space themed restaurant like this in NYC called Mars 2112 that...uh...just went downhill and became pretty awful, and it was eventually closed (the space is now an Equinox gym). I liked seeing the current state of your local place; everything looked clean and bright and pretty much kept up really well. Also, that the food is actually good. I feel ya. You can tell Scott had good, loving, attentive parents. Love how wholesome his videos are, but sometimes I think a little too hard and end up bummed and envious that he had such a great childhood. But I never want him to stop or feel bad about it, cuz if I think a little further past those negative feelings, I end up feeling glad I could experience his wholesomeness and glad he got such a great childhood cuz his videos help give my hurt inner child some of the hope, wonder, and love she deserved.

    • @thekneesbee
      @thekneesbee ปีที่แล้ว +14

      The good news is we aren't kids anymore! I had a bad childhood too and it's not like I'm completely out of the situation or think it all disappears when we turn 18. Still, I try to be positive so instead I think about how I can make another kids childhood better or treat my inner child. The answer right now is watch this video and maybe plan a roadtrip to one of the other Space Aliens locations, hope my inner child can make road trip/vacation friends with your inner child!

    • @nicoledoubleyou
      @nicoledoubleyou ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@thekneesbee yes! It is essential we heal our inner child. Some smaller things you can do to just, try to stay feeling better about things, is to be the parent to yourself, that you never had. Whenever you are upset, especially with yourself, talk to you in the way you deserved to be talked to as a child. For example I was feeling really sad about something but also feeling really dumb for getting sad. So I told myself "hey (my name). Its okay to be upset right now. Its totally normal. I know it's really hard, cuz it's a lot of emotion, but I know you can get through this. Let's go get some coffee, and just be sad for a little bit, it's okay to be sad. And when you're not feeling that sad anymore, or when we're done with the coffee, we will go back to (what I was doing before). That's a really rough example cuz I'm still learning how to do it, too. But it's crazy how different I felt after I was compassionate to myself and gave myself the parenting I wish I had had. I recommend looking into childhood emotional neglect if you feel like you didn't get the attention and teaching you needed

      Occasionally I watch family vlogs and sorta pretend it's my family. A creator called Rinse Repeat has all these long recordings of Saturday morning cartoons and commercials from the 90's and 00's. Even when I'm not age regressing, sometimes I just feel comforted by childlike things. I literally buy those gummy fruit snacks shaped like disney characters and I'm 32

    I lived about an hour away from Fargo when I was a kid, and visiting was always a treat. Rare visits to the "big" mall, Olive Garden, and Space Aliens are core parts of my childhood memories. I had an alien water bottle exactly like the one you bought, and whenever I got sick my mom would make me ice water in it. This begot other core memories of waking up from surreal fever dreams and slurping some refreshing frigid water straight from an alien's head. I've lived all around the country, but North Dakota always felt special--thank you for all your effort in making videos like these!

    Dude... you are INSANELY lucky that your local Chuck E's STILL HAS ANIMATRONICS! And not only that, that's the frickin Rock-a-fire Explosion from Showbiz Pizza!
    They're SIGNIFICANTLY rarer. The two Chuck E's I grew up with, one looked EXACTLY like this, but closed down a few years ago. The other one got 'revamped' after some minor exterior fire damage, and they completely removed the stage, anywhere to sit, and now there's just this big open space to dance. It's so awkward now. The Chuck E. performer comes out and just... stands there and barely even attempts to dance, because literally all the kids don't care. They only cared because he was dancing with his FRIENDS. When he's by himself, NO ONE was interested, not even the littler kids. I literally tried to go up and dance just to try and egg some of the kids on cause I wanted them to have a good birthday... No one got up. Was genuinely really disheartening to see. The Chuck E. mascot ended up shrugging and walking away into the back.

    When I was growing up there was a Chuck E Cheese equivalent called bamboola/the jungle that was AMAZING. It had everything a kid needed to run around and entertain themselves for hours, including stuff like arts and crafts and face painting and an outdoor section where you could dig up fake dinosaur bones. It wasn't until I was an adult that I found out it had been a local thing and not everyone had one. It closed down before I could ever take younger kids in my family there but I can hold on to the memories and nostalgia for the birthday parties of my youth. I've never seen your videos before, but as an animatronics fan I can't tell you how exceedingly rare your local chuck e cheese is. that location is called a 3 stage, and the animatronics used on 3 stages are the retrofits of the rockafire explosion, the animatronic band at the now-extinct showbiz pizza. 3 stages are some of the only remaining living pieces of showbiz history, and there's only a good handful of them left (I think 7 as of writing this comment?) with cec remodeling all their stores to get rid of the animatronics entirely, the fargo location is something to be proud of living near!
