Thanks so much for watching Dog Begging - Manners for Dogs at Mealtime. Do your dog's manners need some fine-tuning at meal time?

Thank you for your videos. I'm getting a new puppy in two weeks and these are great reminders of what to do and not do. It's been a long time since I had a puppy. I like your calm delivery of information, makes me feel like I may survive puppyhood. LOL.

I'm getting a puppy in two weeks also. I'm legally blind, although I do have a sliver of eyesight in my right eye. My left eye is a artificial or glass eye. I really appreciate your gentle and descriptive approach, not just to training dogs, but dog owners. If you have any feedback or recommendations as far as what videos to watch or the most beneficial for the sight impaired oh, that would be wonderful and thank you very much!

Great lesson. Thank you. I am going to work on having my 4 month old pup, Willow, to sit/lie calmly on a mat while I prepare food in the kitchen. Wish me luck and to be a good leader!

Thank you for this informative video! I love the idea of a matt for the puppy during dinner & cooking. We are getting our puppy in April, and I’m learning so much from your FB group and videos.

Really helpful for my counter surfer! I need to be more explicit in staying on the mat and practice without food on counter. Slow learning process for my 6 1/2 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback’s impulses to eat!
I got a lot out of your 30 day training video and probably need to look at it again to check for any gaps. Thank you so much for all your efforts. Reminders, tips, and ideas are so timely and helpful!

AWw, so glad you enjoyed the course. Definitely go back and peek at lessons for a refresher when you can.

I just discovered that putting lemon quarters on edges of counter is discouraging counter surfing! I hope this permanently sours my dog on counter surfing!

I have a question , I have a open bowl food rule, which means I keep food in my dogs bowls
at all times if it's empty I put more food in it is this a bad thing

We recommend putting down the food for 10-15 minutes. Then pick up any remaining food and make it part of the next meal but don’t give more than the normal amount (only give what the normal portion would be). Here is another great video of ours all about food: th-cam.com/video/CG3A1ZUpw0g/w-d-xo.html

I have a 3 month old Yorkie, he LOVES water. He will drink it so fast until he looks like he has a balloon in his torso. Any tips to slow down his drinking?

    • @HowToTrainADreamDog

The general rule of thumb is that dogs should drink at least 1 oz. of water per pound of dog. It’s important that your pup gets plenty of water to drink throughout the day. We recommend trying to offer smaller amounts of water at a time. Please consult your vet if you are concerned!

I have a 4 month old puppy yorkie. She's so hipper and likes to play bite ALL the time. Please give me some advise on how to stop that.

Hi Sharon! We recommend starting with our Better Puppy Behavior Workshop to learn more about how your puppy’s brain works and how to adjust your training dial accordingly.
