    I've been putting my small games and card games into these plastic boxes for about 6 years. I never knew about the jackets, though. Thank you so much! I just printed out a bunch of them. So much nicer than a small label on the end that keeps peeling up.

    After watching this episode I was inspired to look for ways to display my wallet games. I found a great hanging display for sunglasses. It works great....you can see the titles of each game and it doesn't take up space since it's against the wall. It holds a total of 40 wallets, 20 on each side. Thanks for giving me the idea!!

    I bought a similar case last week for my Star Trek: Ascendancy game. Each box is used for faction items, resource tokens, resource nodes, warp lanes, etc. The Borg expansion doesn't do well with the cases as the cubes are very large and the spires are too large to fit in the 4x6 photo cases. Every other faction/expansion fits pretty good with the ships, advancement cards, trade agreement cards, fleet cards, fleet markers, and other faction specific items. I also put the home system disk in there as well. The command consoles do not fit at all and the other system disks don't fit that many because of the shape (circular), but I will find something else to make them work. The exploration cards and turn order cards are typical playing card size, so a simple card storage case works for all of those.
    When a game like that has so many different expansions, it's nice to be able to fit into less boxes for storage.
    As for this video, that is a great idea for travel and space saving in general. Some people enjoy having the boxes displayed because a lot of box artwork is beautiful. However, for those of us with limited storage space, the old adage "form follows function" reigns supreme.
    Great video

    Once you get the printouts in there, they remind me of the old video rental boxes! 😄 Neat idea...not sure what I think of folding the rulebooks, but I do like the uniformity--my first thought was organize alphabetically, but the color looks great! I wonder if you could take it one step further: boxes/dividers within the boxes to keep things from floating around. Especially Catan Dice. In fact, those dice take up hardly any room, right? If you had another game that small, you could fit it in there too to really maximize the space. Maybe cut and splice the inserts so the spine shows half and half. Anyway, that's just where my head went. I found some small boxes on Amazon that worked great for Now or Never...those might pack in there real nice.

  • @bruceschwering5919
    @bruceschwering5919 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have done this for years. I feel like cutting the cover off and taping it separately from the spine and back is the way to go. It makes things much simpler and I haven’t had to deal with any issues that the intended way causes. Great video , love that more people are finding this awesome way to organize.

    I see that not many people have suggested trick takers. I watched your recent cull video and saw that you had Sail on your unplayed shelf, I got it recently to the table and had a blast, (and Couture as well). You said you had maybe 11 trick takers in this video but I only saw maybe 6-7 in the cull video.
    I really like Brian Boru, but it has lots of things going on besides the trick-taking and the box is way too big for the plastic picture box storage.
    Shamans is a weird mix of trick taking and social deduction, it looks beautiful and is really fun. It might have some overlap with Inside Job though, which you own.
    There are like 6 or 7 trick takers from AllPlay already available.
    Yokai Septet is a cool game, the 3 player game is game is free for all but the 4 player one is played in teams, a bit like Aurum.
    American Bookshop is fun and simple but hard to get. From the same designer is Twinkle Starship (which I haven't yet played), Mike Delisio from the Dice Tower had it on his recent top 100.
    Wizard is my "default" trick taker, I have the Anniversary edition, Skull King is very similar.
    There's a new version of Haggis available online, which is supposed to be one of the better 2-3 player trick takers.

    • @TheBoardGameGarden
      @TheBoardGameGarden  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      WOW thank you so much for the recommendations! I played Brian Boru recently and really enjoyed it. Shamens is one I have played a few times with friends and I absolutely LOVE it. I need to get it in the collection soon! I have Sail and Mori from Allplay for far. I need to try more of their trick takers! Yokai Septet is on BGA and I've been wanting to try it! I'll have to check out the rest as well! Thank you!!!! 😊👏🏻

    Whilst I understand wanting a good storage solution for small box games (I also need one), I can't help feeling that buying more plastic really should not be the answer. When the plastic cracks, it cannot be repaired and just ends up in landfill where it doesn't biodegrade.
    Also I think the original boxes are far more attractive than the semi-transparent plastic. Interesting video, but this idea is not for me.
