    It hurts me to see you cut up those board game boxes but other than that it's so satisfying to see how these all fit in!

      I felt the same way haha! Especially on my good Settlers of Cattan boxes!

    Brilliant! I had a few panic attacks in the beginning watching the boxes get cut, but the easy music helped and by the end I was into the whole process peacefully.

    This is probably the best storage method for big game boxes, and photo storage is the more efficient solution for the small ones. Although this is only for some.
    I am too attached to the external boxes; could imagine some people facing the same dilemma. Besides, this method drops the chance of reselling the game at a fair price, this problem could be eliminated by testing the game a reasonable number of times before making the decision to add it permanently to my collection.
    My main concern is being able to find the exact storage model when I expand my collection; I don't think that in Brazil, we have a long-term company in marketing producing them like USA Iris, but I will do my research.
    Thank you for sharing.

    Okay, so now I have seen so many of these videos of people doing this to these board games. So my question is, since most of these seem to be kids games, what are you going to do when your kids grow out of thee games or if you decide you don’t want some of these games anymore? You can’t exactly donate or gift them anymore without the box? I was never looking for these types of organization videos I have a extremely large collection so I routinely have to cull games which is why I don’t understand why so many people are destroying boxes for especially kids game which will make it nearly impossible to sale, gift, or donate in the future when your kids are grown out of them. So what you just throw the entire game away once your kids are done?

      @JustinShands 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      While you probably couldn't donate them to a thrift store, I bet there are plenty of places you could still donate them... churches, schools, another family... basically, there are plenty of people who would be happy to take the games who don't care about the original box at all (and maybe even appreciate the consistent size for storage).

    • @melissaupton9104
      @melissaupton9104 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why couldn’t you just put them in a large ziplock bag and donate them? There’s no reason to keep something in my house that inconveniences me and isn’t what I like because of “what if I sell it in the future”. Your preference to either purchase or receive my donation later shouldn’t be my inconvenience to deal with for many years while the item is in my possession. I will do with my items as I see fit for my household and then when I am done with it if you don’t want to receive the item as is then there are thousands of other people who will!

      I like the idea of this for fitting in my living room entertainment center. I wouldn't cut the box up though just write on a piece of paper or sometimes the directions has the big name also..

    Just found this vid. I love this solution! Like everyone else, it does sting a bit to have to cut up the boxes, but I just have to remind myself that we buy these games to play, not to sell (there are better investments. Haha). These are staying with me

    Kinda smart. Never gonna sell them so makes sense. Just do like seeing the artwork on the whole box for some

    I love this idea but I can’t bring myself to destroy the boxes, so I might store them in the attic then just put a print out of the cover on the inside :)

      That’s a good way to warm up to the idea of letting them go! I felt the same way!! But once I saw how much more space I had I never missed them. There is such nostalgia with the boxes and I totally get that!! Especially in a world where everything is digital!

    • @QualeHouse
      @QualeHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It hurts my heart too! But my organization heart lights up with delight when they are all in a perfect stack! Sometimes you gotta go against the grain and make life more improved even when it means cutting up those pretty boxes! But you totally don’t have to! If the nostalgia of the boxes is too good then keep them! We like to write winner’s names on the inside of the box so those were especially hard to let go of!

    I plan to get some of those organizers on the future, but it physically hurts me the idea of ripping a box. Knowing myself I would end up taking all the empty boxes and store them inside a bigger box, inside another bigger box, inside another bigger box....

    I have a question around how this scales with finding a board game you want to play. If you wanted to play Monopoly, for example, do you now need to look throith every case to find monopoly? Whereas before you can immediately find monopoly just by looking at all the boxes.

    • @QualeHouse
      @QualeHouse  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because the containers are clear it’s super easy! We also have them labeled with the box covers and you could label the sides with a label maker too if you had them stacked in a way that made it difficult! Hope that helps.

    Were there any board games where the board didn't fit? I feel like I have a bunch of games where the pieces would fit, but the board is too long.

    • @QualeHouse
      @QualeHouse  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and it was so annoying! I think I mention the ones that didn’t fit at some point! I remember Blokus and candyland being two that wouldn’t fit!

    Where are the boxes from?

  • @Darkpegasus849
    @Darkpegasus849 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It PHISICALLY hurts me to not put the board game in the box, but i also blame the board game creators for making such big boxes for the tini games
    also when you cut the boxes into the cool plastic containers, it game me the feling of relief but a the same time dread!

    • @QualeHouse
      @QualeHouse  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally agree!

    Did Blokus fit in the container?

    • @QualeHouse
      @QualeHouse  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it did in the larger ones but in the end I felt like the Blokus box was almost as small and fit so compact that I ended up keeping it! Some of the big box games like monopoly are actually so small in pieces and it’s just the dumb box taking up so much space so because we have every game on the market practically haha 😂 I had to choose sparingly which ones I felt like really really needed to be consolidated!

    I've never been this offended by a video... damn this is a crime against humanity. I understand you need some space, but if you can do this to your games, you probably didn't like them anyways. just sell them to people that do appreciate them more.

    • @QualeHouse

      Haha this made me laugh! If you only knew how much we love games around here! And I have dozens and dozens more games! But consolidating frequently used (torn up well loved)game boxes was so satisfying! I totally get it though haha! As a crazy avid game lover I agree I may have committed one of the biggest crimes against games there ever was! 😂💕
