For the sake of efficiency I'm going to start storing all my board game components "loose". Who needs boxes anyway, let it all hang out on the shelf, exposed and free as nature intended.
Free range board gaming, no boxes, no confinement. Just meeples being free as some god intented them to be!
If I did that with my copy of Eldritch Horror + expansions, I'd be finding lost bits of that game for the next 60 years like the glitter I spilled in the second grade.
That feeling of dread/excitement you get when you go into a list video knowing ypu own NONE of the boxes in the thumbnail
Dropolter is a game where people are like "ya I guess we can try that", then hours later they are insisting on just one more round.
And then you wrap up the game day by washing the components.
the sky team experience:

Glad to know I'm not the only one who very carefully arranges my shelfs not alphabetically or by genre, and not randomly, but by where the boxes best fit
Neither Gloomhaven nor Frosthaven play ball with Kallax whatsoever. They've basically got a cubby each (though Gloomhaven has a file organiser for the map tiles that lives with it). Both are just a little too big to really share space with any other full-sized board game box. You'd get little ones in with Gloomhaven (sans file organiser), but you'd struggle with all but the dinkiest of small box game alongside Frosthaven.
Watching you stuff unboxed components into the crevices of your shelves was simultaneously one of the most horrifying and most fantastic things I've seen in a video in a long time.

Absolutely in no way a remixed "top five small box games" list video with a slapped on theme to justify it I can't see what could possibly have given anyone that impression.
As if there were gaps in my kallax. I'll have to buy another kallax to have gaps to fill with these games!

SMH. I would have expected more from my husband’s favorite TH-camr. You detail out the gaps in the beginning so well, getting my hopes up for some OCD satisfying gap filling action. But then your video devolved into an actual game review. Where’s the before and afters of the box fittings? The zoomed out pictures of the perfectly filled gaps! The slow mo shots of boxes sliding in and out of perfectly fitting holes in your shelf?
Don’t even get me started on the tragedy that was your Spectral fitting!!
Expectation: that feeling of satisfaction when you eliminate four rows with a perfectly timed Tetris straight piece

Sky Team sounds really fun!
SUSD's overview got a few minor details wrong, but yeah, Sky Team is excellent. A great "couple's co-op", to put it one way.
I wish all game reviews/summaries including box size and also approximate tabletop size (that you need to play, especially if there is a board). The latter should also be on the side of the box, along with player counts, age range and duration.

The friend I play it with and I have the same problem. I say 0, 1, 2 removing the end of turn 1 space move cause it's inevitable. He says 1, 2, 3 cause it's inevitable
I've been really wanting to try Ito for a while, and now I have to add Dro Polter to that list!
For people interested in Ito, I very highly recommend Eye My Favorite Things btw. It's the same idea as a trick taking game and is easily the best conversation starter I've ever played.

I have no problem cannibalizing board game boxes to repackage games into tighter fitting boxes in order to maximize shelf space. I just cut the title off and glue it to the new box. It was painful at first. But now I’m looking at over 125 games on one shelf, and I’m pretty proud of that. And I still have space for more mwah ha ha ha. It just wouldnt be possible otherwise.

"Top 10" is a more streamlined version of ito from the sound of it. or more partyfied? Only have cards from 1 to 10, prompts are a bit longer and wordier, but it works perfectly. And its in stock. Here in germany at least.
A trick to fit small games with lots of games in your Kallax is to insert individual cards between other boxes, they fill the gaps really nicely.
I was looking forward to a satisfyingly well filled shelf by the end. Realized half way through I wouldn’t get it 😞
