I got mine because of you and have loved it from day one, just like my osprey Exos 48 was down to you, oh and my northern monk patrons box…….. wait a minute you’re costing me a feckin fortune……. I’m off👋👋👋. 😉
Given your cooking skills, I'd recommend looking at the firebox stove... I've got both...and done a lot of side by side tests... there is no comparison...Firebox has a different burn... Less ash...more efficient...more controllable... Different animal altogether. 👍
Spot on as usual 👍 I've recently got the LF steel version and love it so far . Was going to go titanium but wasnt sure if it would be so robust . Half wish I went for titanium xl but still chuffed with my LF . Take care Hazey 👍
Just bought one and I'm a bit confused by one parts of it, if anyone can help please. Where the top grill plate sits in place there are slots going in opposite directions, why is this? I'd imagine that the slotted section is to lock the grill plate in place to prevent it from lifting upwards if food stick to it but the slots are slotted in opposite directions to each other which means you can't slide the plate into the slots. Am I missing something here?
Hi Paul, I've left a ton of stuff for you at the Northern Monk Brewery, but the reception says they are not allowed to forward it to you, which seems odd.
This is probably the best twig stove on the market, I love mine. However I genuinely don't think the titanium version is worth the money. My stainless one weighs 765g so for a 265g decrease it's over double the price. If you're lucky you can pick up a stainless XL for £65, the cheapest XL titanium one I've seen is £141. Great review.
Same here 👍. With really 'sensitive' undersurfaces, I have put my LF into one half of an Aluminium 'Dixie' Set (British Military Mess Tins for those who don't know) and kept the inside bottom covered in a layer of water. That, on top of said Carbon Cloth (and a cut-to-fit Silicon Mat) have even kept the initially horrified 'Swiss Grannies' satisfied. 'Swiss Grannies' .. one of the best Surveillance Systems out there. They miss nothing and report everything 😊. Handy for moving the Cooking Setup around to suit. Works even on Outdoor Wooden Table Tops with absolutely no damage .. leave no trace 😊.
Good video as ever mate. I have the L titanium and find it big enough to cook a steak on. Is the XL that much bigger because the L is only 290 grammes which is again a huge weight saving?
I’m really wondering if I should get the le or xl. LF is small and needs less feeding. But XL can do more, bring more warmth, but needs more feeding and is more bulky. What do you think?
@@eline95 I think both sizes have their advantage. If you’re not looking for the smallest and lightest, maybe the bigger one? If you want only one and just cooking for one, then LF.
I have the smaller LF in steel and I think it's around the same weight as the XL Ti. Have always considered upgrading to the XL Ti to get the extra floor space for the same weight.
Spot on! 👍. I have the LF in Stainless some years now .. a great piece of kit. Had there been a choice at the time of my original purchase, I would have 'bitten the bullet' and gone Titanium. However, as a Pensioner .. now not an option. Keeping warm .. using an Aluminium Folding Windscreen as a 'back screen' throws an appreciable amount of heat radiation back at one in addition to routing wood smoke up and away.
for bush-craft, or short hikes to camp, those things are fine. stainless or titanium. you can dismiss the weight by including it in your luxury item category. that way you don't even need to include it in your carry weight.
Great review 👍 However......do you have any advice on how to get one off the wife's radar?........If I go and get one my love spuds would get mashed ....... I need to ninja one into my shed.
I think £140 is VERY expensive, especially when there are other titanium stoves the same size for a lot less. I'm sure it's a great stove though. Cheers.
Amazon has it listed for $160 now... too much. I just bought a Boundless Voyage stove box that is Titanium, compacts flat, is much bigger and much stronger and slightly more weight for $57 on Amazon. The same size as the titanium BushBox XL, (which sells for $219 on Amazon).
Love the new look, very French boudoir. I've had one for 4 years, lost case on first outing, keep it in a Farrahs butter fudge tin that fits perfect, tin doubles as a wind breaker when I've got the trangia in, works well.
Well you could have put a bit more effort into the French Renaissance beauty mark & made it into the shape of a love heart as they did. Disappointing Haze, smh, you couldn’t even be arsed to put in the effort for us. Much love 💕
I have the steel version it's definitely a great bit of kit to have a fire at the edge of the tarp on a cold night and not worrying about it getting out of hand is great but it takes more work to prepare the fire wood atvb lundy 😎😎👍👍
Now that you have 2 of them have you tried linking them together, If you and your friend both have 1 each you can combine them to create a pot warmer stand between the two by using the large grill plate. See video attached to illustrate th-cam.com/video/kXBqJr_Hids/w-d-xo.html
Titanium seems pricey for what it does, but you get what you pay for. Ti alloys come in different grades and finished quality. We get used to seeing cheaper 'Titanium' items but forget they cut corners, it's crap material and a false economy. At least these last.
Find these prohibitively expensive. You can buy a titanium fire box from companies like Lixada or Tomshoo for about 40 quid. Just as good. Slightly lighter. Slightly more stable. Love mine. Take it everywhere.
I just received mine a few hours ago, today, and started the return procedure about 30 mins after unboxing ! I just can't believe what a piece of junk it is, I'm so disappointed by the quality and design. The stove does not properly fit in the bag or the multi function base without some considerable effort, there are large gaps at the base, on 2 sides, where the stove does not retain its original square shape, its unsteady, and the weight has shocked me totally, Its the heaviest Titanium piece of gear I've come across.
I recieved mine today, a couple hours ago. I don't agree with your opinion. The two gaps on the base are made to let air inside so the fire can breathe. It fits perfectly in the bag. You didn't even try using it. I've read and seen a lot of revievs and almost everyone are happy with it. The only person that was a bit disappointed had the steel version and said it bends a little on the front side bc of the heat. Over all he was happy about the function. The weight isn't a problem, it's very light when u compare it to similar stoves in other materials. It doesn't take much space. It's very easy to use and u can use it with wood or a trangia burner. I really like it.
@@meYogii_ If the gaps on the base are so it can breathe then why are they only there when you hold it , or if you don't make sure its perfectly square, it has also mean mentioned by others the stability, it does not fit in the bag perfectly with the multi function lid attached, it is famous even amongst its fans as quite heavy, you can use the vast majority of twig stove with other forms of fuel, and no you do NOT try something if you are going to return it ! Lmaaaooo!! The ending 🤣🤣🤣😝
Great to see you my friend! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
I didn't hear a word after 1:00 as i just spent the rest of the video laughing at a small black smudge on your face. Nice one!
I love my Titanium Bushbox XL, had it for around a year now and can’t fault it
£80 and £134 is chuffin a piss take.
Love the videos mate
I paid £80 7 years ago and have used it countless times. I’m sure I could pass it down to me kinds. You get what you pay for mate 🤙
I'm just a tight Yorkshireman lol
One tight, one not. Yorkshireman balance restored to the universe it is, hmm?
This has to be one of the most British comments I’ve seen in a while lmfao.
I've got both and agree, I just have a stove hording issue. Such well made kit though. Good of you to add the soot post production for the laughs.
Seems like a genuine, honest review. Thanks.
Brilliant review Hazy great video mate 👍

I've got the Ultralight for use with a Trangia burner. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit.
Nearly fuckin choked when you rubbed soot ont cheek!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Its the subtitles!🤣🤣
Recently treated myself to the Bushbox XL st version. What a great bit of kit. Only used it once so far, but what a joy it was cooking on it 👍
Does the titanium version has any drwabacks compared to the stainless steel one? (except for the higher price.) Which one has better durability?
TI is 30% stronger but 60% lighter. So if you are not broke go for titan
Love the stove brilliant bit of kit couldn’t justify extra cost being a Yorkshire man after all what’s an extra 400g 👍👍
Thanks ever so much for the smudge. ☮
Spot on as usual 👍 I've recently got the LF steel version and love it so far . Was going to go titanium but wasnt sure if it would be so robust . Half wish I went for titanium xl but still chuffed with my LF . Take care Hazey 👍
This feels like a weird question, but which one puts out more heat?
Hi, are this durable enough for everyday cooking?
Thanks, Hazy. Great channel. 👍🙂🔥

Worth buying XL over LF even as a solo camper? (If one could only buy one)
They are great. I have the steel LF version. Nice bit of kit. Usable in lots of outdoor situations.
I bought my first one after seeing yours. No ragerts. Thanks, bud👍🏼☕️

Handy to keep the insects away as well! Great review as always.

depends...if you plan to hike with it a lot. And that thing will last you a lifetime. So to me the price difference is worth it.
I have from Melontools and has aluminum casing 😁
I bring a small piece of carbon felt to put under my stove to protect the ground. Works great.
Same here 👍.

What have you done to your face haze?
"Burning your shins off" 😂 I'm familiar with that feeling. Pricey that titanium version though.
I got curious 🤓 What's the number one of your top bushcraft gear? 😁
Joey Von Tinderwig
Faith
Joey D🤣
Great information mate. What is going to be your next bushcraft video?
Pritty cool stuff keep it coming you legend
There is a metal case available for the LF and XL which doubles as a base. ...excellent review video
metal case? where?
Good video as ever mate. I have the L titanium and find it big enough to cook a steak on. Is the XL that much bigger because the L is only 290 grammes which is again a huge weight saving?
Can the L take a trangia burner?

Literally stuck in the same dilemma... Interested to hear what others think
@@eline95 Well, I finally bought the LF, and month after the XL! 😅
Well... That answers my question I guess 😂

Good stuff 👍
I have the SS LF. Same, only complaint is the weight.
Great video, thank you
I wanted to have this by myself. Is it really feels the weight difference of these boxes? Few hundred grams looks not so big difference

Have the amerzon vision (titanium)
Do love it.
Begins with L......
Nice one haze 👍
We'll have to start calling you Mark 🤣🤣🤣
Or 'Spot' ..
Another banger sir
Would’ve been nice to see some footage of it in action but I guess there’s plenty on here of that already.
I need a bush box! 😄
Sound bit of kit, maybe try a English woodsman one let us know your thoughts atb Lee
Nice one chap. i'm gonna see if i can get the whole fam to get me one for crimbo. peace n love
Bushbox or Firebox. The eternal question.
Can't go wrong with either. I think the firebox is more refined and versatile tho
Ahahahaha the soot! Love you humour.
From now on I'll call you smudge .. 😁👍

Nice one haze I am just in the Market for a decent bush box
Just call me Smudge, eh? Nearly pulled the trigger on one of those on the Bay of E recently, and thought... nah. Now? Now I think, you prat.
I guess the stainless steel version is more stable when you cook due to its weight but its a bit exagerating here .
I've heard the steel version bends on the front side bc of the heat...

The way you said bushbox gave me a semi
Think I’ll stick with my £45 trangia 27.
Sooty McSweep. :-)

its $368.27 Canadian bux ! That's highway robbery. Can buy a titanium hot tent stove for that price!! Cmon now.. That is just silly.
