Miss Rik so much, it's been 2 years, and this video combines two of my favourite things. Old Nintendo games, and Rik Mayall, both brought so much joy to so many kids! R.I.P man.
Rik was actually a really good looking guy who capitulated such looks to "look ugly" for his beloved audience. It's been 2 years now, & still I feel as shocked & impinged about his demise. :( It's the end of an era of physical comedy. Love you so much Rik.

Nice information but, considering that he did the Nintendo adverts before the Playstation voice acting, (and, of course, the Playstation was itself the result of an aborted CD add on project on for the SNES) it's not really even 'kind of' ironic. It's just what's called a career where you work for one company- and then work for another.

I am so shattered and depressed over his sudden passing. Rik mayall was someone that never stopped making you laugh. Young Ones, New Statesman and Bottom you'll never get someone as unique and eccentric like him again. He'll be missed as well as James avery aka uncle Phil!

For computer company slogans, a special mention must go to Commodore for putting an ad with "To be this good will take Sega AGES" on it for the CD32 release. Right next to the London Sega HQ. Ballsy.
Ironically I never saw these ads as a kid because I was too busy playing video games. I did become a huge fan of Bottom in my teens though, so maybe that makes up for it?
My comedy hero as a kid and he still makes me giggle unconditionally to this day. Was a dark day for me when his death was announced on the news. To this day drop dead Fred is one of my altime best films. But now makes me said at the end when he says good buy.
I'm so old that I saw Rik and Ben Elton each doing stand up in a small venue in Byron Bay, Australia, in the mid80s. Nothing compared to the later anarchy of Bottom, with Ade, but a memory I'll treasure for as long as I still know what room I'm in and why.
