- VF-1 Yellowjackets is a fictional fighter squadron in the anime and manga series "Macross" (also known as "Robotech" in some regions). The VF-1 Yellowjackets are a special forces unit of the United Nations Spacy (UN Spacy), the primary military force of the United Nations in the series.
The VF-1 Yellowjackets are known for their skill in combat and their distinctive yellow and black color scheme. They are often depicted as being led by Lieutenant Commander Roy Focker, a skilled fighter pilot and veteran of the series' main conflict, the war between humanity and the Zentradi, an alien race.
The VF-1 is a transformable fighter jet that can change between three modes: Fighter, Gerwalk (a hybrid mode that combines features of both a jet and a bipedal walker), and Battroid (a fully humanoid robot mode). The VF-1 is the primary fighter used by UN Spacy in the series and is considered one of the most iconic mecha designs in anime.
The VF-1 Yellowjackets play a significant role in the series, often taking part in key battles and missions. They are considered one of the most skilled and effective fighter squadrons in the UN Spacy and are respected by their allies and feared by their enemies.

Rumours about a live action Macross movie has been around for more than 10 years. If they do successfully make one, I'll be one of the earliest to book a ticket for it. Have been watching this since I was a child and now I'm 46. I just love everything in the 3 series

To me Robotech is Awesome just because of the music from Ulpio Minucci... turn into EPIC every single part where you see and listen. I watched Robotech, all 3 series, as a kid and it created a lifelong fascination with not only sci-fi, but also space, science, and what is possible.

The F-14 was such a beautifully designed and epic machine, that multiple franchises used its profile as a base for their frictional mecha. I'm proud to say my grandfather was on the design team that developed it.

They're called "Valkyries" or Variable Fighters. Please don't call them by Harmony Fraud's shitty localized name.
Harmony Gold did a lot of things wrong, but also did good by creating Robotech which caused Anime to become popular throughout the world. MACROSS and ROBOTECH lovers need to band together so that we can get a proper live action movie or revive the animes with new content etc.
@@MrRyuken555 No. Robotech DID NOT make anime popular around the world. Stop spreading that lie. There were several other anime brought to the West before it that lead to anime becoming mainstream. There was Astroboy, Kimba, Speed Racer, Star Blazers, Voltron, Thundersub, etc.
Robotech was an amalgamous wreck of forcing 3 mecha anime into a single story that butchered much of the original series. I watched the original Macross series when it was aired in our local TV back in 1985 before Robotech reached my shores. Macross would have still have made it to the West without Harmony Fraud since Macross II and Macross Plus were released in the US by Manga Entertainment.
Harmony Fraud made things worse for Macross as they prevented it from being distributed internationally due to their insidious trademarks on the IP claiming that they owned. They are generally hated by anime and game communities especially with Battletech. They may have recently struck a deal with Big West so that the other Macross series can finally be released worldwide. But they should never be trusted with any anime as they are notorious with how poorly they treat the IPs they license.
