Radiant Heat Prep | The Solo Barndo Build | The Cedar | Ep 11

Episode eleven of The Solo Barndo Build. We finish installing the Hitz Halter below grade insulation, run all the PEX tubing for radiant heat, and pressurize all the lines.
The Cedar plan is thoughtfully designed to maximize space and cost efficiency, without sacrificing function! This open-concept plan features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with plenty of space to add another bedroom and/or bathroom upstairs. A large 8′ kitchen island, feature fireplace, and charming wrap around porch come together to make this home feel cozy and welcoming. The Cedar plan provides an economical structure with 14′ sidewalls and a vaulted ceiling upstairs, helping reduce building costs by utilizing a “one and a half” story design.

Great video as always MR! Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any specific reason you put the utility closet in the middle of the building?

It is located between the house and shop area. Depending on how big your structure is somewhere in middle on an outside wall is beneficial when having hydronic heat so you do not have to have remote manifolds. It’s not the end of the world if it’s not but cost more money.

Do you avoid laying tubing under cabinets, bathtubs, etc?
