Islander "DAY-T" Automatic Field Watch ISL-129

- The Islander ISL-129 classic field watch has a crisp white dial and innovative day-and-date display at the 6:00 position. The dial has a 12-hour scale and a smaller 24-hour scale for military time. The hour and minute hands are filled with SuperLuminova as are the 5-minute markers around the dial. The brushed stainless steel case is very wearable 39mm in diameter and it is 12mm thick. Lug to lug (or tip-to-tip) measurement is 48.5mm. The crown is a signed screw-down type that enables a better water resistance rating of 100 meters.
Inside the case is an NH36A, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (second-hand stops when you pull out the crown). Marc makes really great watches and this is definitely another one. I actually like the day date on the bottom of the dial better than the top as the Hamilton has. Congrats on the support that has enabled the upgrades, way to go pal!!

Diggin that field watch! LI has really built an impressive lineup. Marc is just killin it! I’m with you on the strap backside leather…comfy, but I want to get it wet. I would just sacrifice it…can’t ruin it that bad!

Marc always does a good job with his watches. I do agree with you on size. I just prefer a larger watch. I also like SWC. I have the second edition of their dive watch.

As for this piece, I think it's absolutely great for the price. I wish it came with a better quality strap, not that this one is bad. Dimensions are perfect for my smaller 6.75in wrist.

Interesting. I think the screw-down crown definitely helps with the water resistance. Lots of watches have screw-down crowns with crown guards, too. Lovely watch and great video. Congrats on the new camera!
i like marc's productions. maybe someday i'll get one if the logistics are alright. but i prefer his no date watches though. btw, you look eerily like jimmy kimmel in your timeline pic (or whatever it's called) . 😅

The subtlety of the day/date is great, well integrated.
I ABSOLUTELY agree regarding resistance while setting the time.
Always a bit freaky when it feels like you could blow on the crown and it'd move the hands.

This looks almost identical to the Hamilton my ADs got at £250, after discounts..... The price is great but I'd rather pay a little more for the name, nice lume btw.....
I agree and I’m in the same boat which is why I own 3 Hammys. Can’t beat a watch with horology and quality to boot.

I would consider buying this watch if it didn’t have that silly printed sub-dial that Mark uses as the brands logo.

In all honesty, I don't like any of the Islander watches. They are bland, dull, and boring with an ugly asymmetrical logo that looks to be a watch - why? Additionally, all without an exception are a homage of other watches, and most of the time, they are overpriced. There are other, better micro-brands out there, that actually design their own watches, and not just do a copy/paste type of design like Long Islander watches.
