Finally a reactor who loves Crossroads! This song is a masterpiece! It has a really nostalgic and melancholic vibe. And the MV is pure art. I love it. This was the song that introduced me to GFRIEND.

One thing about Gfriend's music is that the sound gives you a weird sense of nostalgia. Which is probably why you're getting like a "90's" feel. "Summer Rain" samples a classical piece and I think you're right, it does kinda remind me of some background music they used in Sailor Moon. xD
Soooooo happy to see reactors getting into gfriend in the year of 2024… crossroads is also my #1 tt it’s just too good and dives into their lore on a very personal level so it’s that much more meaningful. The choreo EATS too you have to watch it!!! This mv is their only mv without choreo so it’s def like a movie

So when Fingertip was first released it was so different from anything else they've released that some fans weren't so fond of it. I think some people weren't quite ready to let go of the cute bright GFRIEND just yet.Also Gfriend didn't really perform that song much after 2017 and at the time if didn't connect to any other Gfriend title track. In a way, it felt like "Fingertip" became a forgotten Gfriend song until 2020 when "Crossroads" came out and suddenly it revived "Fingertip" and everyone was talking about it again.
Yeah and I think the company stepped backwards too hard by following up with love whisper like admitting OOPS OUR BAD here’s what you guys love, which to me wasn’t the best move
Fingertip was the reason i actually become a buddy. At that time, i watched the variety show 'Weekly Idol' weekly when it was aired, and Gfriend came to showcase their comeback in it. I fell in Love with the song and the CHOREO. omg. I still think its one of their best ones from the old songs. I still go back and watch the episode every now and then. They Always killed the speed x2 choreo challenge.😅

If you want to know Crossroad MV means , you should watch GFRIEND: A Tale of the Glass Bead MV . They are GFRIEND witches series (Crossroad , Apple , Mago..).
Crossroad is my fav gfriend song (it's just the peak of classic gfriend song for me) but as much as i like crossroad, but fingertip has the best music counterparts for vocal, melody & instruments (for my taste)
They are the most synchronized group. You should see the dance practices, even with the eyes covered like in Mago dance practice they are still synchronized
Can't wait for you to start watching their dance practices because THOSE will lead you into a whole rabbit hole of cool and crispy choreographies. You'll understand more about why people (and idols and celebrities) praise them so much when it comes to their music and dance abilities.
Loving your reactions to GFriend who are still together today in their and Buddies hearts. Their music is timeless and will sound just as good in 10 years time as now unlike much of Kpop. The harmonies and the perfectly synchronised dancing make watching them perform a pleasure. Dancing is such an important element to their performances, they learnt a challenging choreography for nearly every B side in readiness to perform them at their first ever full concert lasting over 3 hours. Singing with a live band whilst dancing synchronised choreography is as good as it gets.

I have followed gfriend since glass b3ad their very first record. Their choreography is flawless and they even set a new trend by dance to their tracks at twice the speed. They came from such a difficult debut when tbey where asked tperform on a slippery stage in the pouring rain. They kept slipping and falling yet they got though the song and that saved them, their bond was so tight and the work they put in to every performance was so inspiring. They won 72 awards more than any including bts. They have takeownwership of the gfriend name against Hybe who tried to get it and lost. Gfreind will be back in the next year I'm sure. Thank you for this gfreind moment. If you haven't check out glass bead the synchronicity is a tribute to 6 hours a day of training. Stay safe J.

There are many reasons to watch Gfriend. Watching Gfriend's dance practice is my secret pleasure, even more than their MVs. Another is the instrumental of their music. Yet listening to the girls' vocal harmony and overlays are just so healing. BTW, glad to hear you remember about Gfriend's gorgeous Japanese discography.

they've accumulated the powers in "Love Whisper" as the time goes by they got jealous because of the powers, that's why they tried to kill each of them so that the powers would go to them as you can see in the "Fingertip", then became to hatred then they turned into a witch as you can see in "Apple" and "Mago" in mago they are just hiding in their good side they changed faces basically
The piano theme in Summer rain is a sample from the classical piece "Dichterliebe op.48: no.1" by Robert Schumann.
Yes the GFRIEND lore is quite complex, in their videos you will often see things like glass beads (there is one on the table in Crossroads as well) - the main lore bit though is the Butterfly, from what I can tell Eunha is in charge of them and she's using them to fix the timelines when something goes wrong - funny thing is that VIVIZ has taken the butterfly with them Umji is holding one in 'Pull Up' and it's also the official fandom name 나비 (Butterfly)
As an anime fan, GFRIEND songs suit me to listen. Even their bsides I can't skip it all. Thank you for another reaction. I'LL WAIT FOR NEXT!
'Sunny summer' and 'Fever' are the 2 remaining korean title tracks and both are summer comebacks :D
For dance practice, Glass bead, White, Fingertip, Love whisper, and Mago (eye mask ver) are highly recommended.

Crossroads is seriously my favorite song of all time. It still astounds me that it even exists. It sounds like 70’s American tv show theme songs. It looks like 70’s British cinema. The choreo even feels like 70’s contemporary modern dance. What the hell is this doing in a 2020 kpop song? It’s intense nostalgia and beauty and melancholy and I love it so much.

I do think Crossroad has the anime opening-like MV the most out of Gfriend MVs. It's so apparent it feels like anime IS the inspiration 😂 And they really know how to make cinematographic MVs damnnn. Also their actings improved like a lot. I love em ❤

You made a comment about them being super synchronized-I think I remember there being a video or two of them being super synchronized in dance challenges of their songs, like seventeen lol. I remember they used to get talked about as being some of the most synchronized groups when they were simultaneously active. If I remember correctly, anyways. And I know what you mean by anime openings/endings! That is a common sentiment about their music. The guitar + cute and powerful vocals and visuals is very anime. Pairing happy with sad and gentle with harder elements is very reminiscent of anime music
Plus the dramatic and bittersweet string instruments and piano elements. Very anime lol

As much as my love for GFRIEND was deep, my longing for them grows every year.
And as a fan, I feel guilty for not protecting such talented and great girls.
BUDDY always has love and guilt for GFIREND members. So even now, BUDDY is still supporting the girls who do their best in their respective positions without breaking up, and they desperately hope to be back on stage one day by rebuilding them. The six girls are still young and have talent and charm that are too bad to disappear, leaving such a great legacy behind.
I hope that the members and BUDDY's wish to become a girl group that lasts long with Buddy, not the best girl group, will come true. This great legacy left by girls can surely continue.
Fun fact: the demo version of Fingertip was sung by Wheein when she was still a trainee (18 y.o)

The crossroads mv is the only gfriend mv that does not have a dance scene. They really focused more on the storyline in this comeback
