Just what we need 310,000 square feet of office space in a post Covid work from home world. 25,000 square feet of additional retail space when we already so many vacant retail spaces now. More residential space to overburden an already overburdened school system. More traffic less parking.

Compare current traffic congestion to projections on Central Ave, North Ave, and South Ave.

Come see what developers did to Garwood. Then go to ShopRite and see the lines, and realize South Ave isn’t done yet, neither is North Ave, nor Walnut St Garwood. Nor the current North and South Ave developments in Westfield.

Your statement that the DEVELOPER will pay the debt service on the bonds is completely inaccurate. The TOWN will pay the debt service on the bonds to the tune of $73,000,000.00 which is coming out of the PILOT payments made to the Town. That brings your $214M down to $141M. Please make this correction.

Who convinced the elected officials that Westfield needs a master plan. Sounds and looks like a land crab. I live in Scotch Plains. This much building will back traffic up all the way into Fanwood. Thank goodness you are doing your investigative accounting.

How can this huge plan move forward without a vote from the people of Westfield?

This so sad. Say goodbye to your town.

    Suburbs become the city.

I think this is a good idea,
This generates money and with more money being maid with that land, there is more opportunities for this town with more money.
Who knows maybe we can find space for a parking garage by the train station’s parking lot, and then remove the parking put a park there with trees and it would connect both sides of downtown better.
It would also go well with the Christmas tree and the station restaurant.
