Roman Catholic here. I appreciated the video. The only thing I would say is the Catholic Church actually teaches that works don't necessarily save you in the sense that you are "working" your way to Heaven. We would say that God's grace alone saves you, but it is up to you to cooperate with that grace. This is why in James 2:24 we see that we are not saved by faith alone. The works don't save you in a way that you earn it, but they are your act of cooperation with God. To put it another way, if you read the entire chapter of James 2, we see that a mere intellectual acknowledgment of God's existence isn't enough. Instead, it is a love for Jesus Christ that can be defined as a saving faith. But as our Lord says in the gospels, "if you love me obey my commands "(John 14:15-17). It is in this sense we say that works play a role. Also, I believe it was Pope Benedict XVI who gave a sermon saying that if you define "faith" in this way, then Luther's formula of faith alone works. Anyway, nothing but respect for my Protestant brothers and sisters. I love you guys and will keep you in my prayers.
@@frogmanvc The thought that, according to Catholic teaching, one is not saved by faith alone, nor works alone. For example, Christ said that 'when he was hungry, you fed Him, when He was naked you clothed Him.....' and by that, whenever you did that to the least of His people, you did it to Him. Or when Paul writes that if you have faith enough to move mountains but have not love, you are nothing. So, according to the Catholic perspective, faith and works go hand in hand.

This was a surprisingly charitable analysis, thank you for that. However it was still a bit in error about what the Catholic understanding of faith and works is and how they relate to salvation. As a person who was raised Baptist and entered into full communion with the Catholic Church (swam the Tiber as they say!) as an adult based on intellectual and faith convictions, I think it’s most simple to view faith and works as two sides of one coin. They are inseparable from one another, and it was sadly Luther’s misunderstanding stemming from his deep-seated insecurities and likely psychological maladies that led to the disfigurement of the term “faith” by redefining it to mean essentially “intellectual assent” which it never was understood to be before, and subsequent ripping apart of this new understanding of “faith” from works. They are ONE coin, in two sides, and CANNOT EXIST one without the other. Saving faith is “faith expressing itself in love”. That’s the best definition I think one can give. Pax Christi.
Hi, Eastern Catholic here. 0:50 Catholics don't believe in "works". However we Catholics end up defending the notion of works due to constant crap thrown to us by protestants who never understand what the Catholics are actually supposed to believe. Catholics are supposed to believe all is grace, works included. That's what Augustine said too. But why do works matter? Because works, more like "deeds", are the expression of our love of God and of our neighbour. It is by our deeds that we bear our own cross as Jesus, it is by our deeds that we trust God, it is by our deeds that we honor God the most. I say deeds and not just works because in all other languages apart English "works" has the broader meaning that "deeds" has.
I think our comments section is becoming a good representation that not everyone thinks the same exact way, Catholic or Protestant haha. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
Thank you for your charitable heart towards Catholics. It is like a balm to the wounds suffered on both sides. The Charity with which we treat each other despite our differences is the proof of our being authentic Christians. What unites us is Jesus. He is greater than what divides us. Prayers from a cradle Catholic lady in the Philippines.
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” 29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” Works are the fruits of faith.
Remember even the devil has Faith in God and even he believes that Jesus is the only son of the living God. So will Satan be saved?

Irrelevant. That doesn't say salvation without works is dead. Salvation is not acquired by works, but Catholicism is a works based religious system and so is a different gospel and is accursed _(Galatians 1:8)._

One of the problems with differentiating Catholics and Protestants is "Faith" and "Works" are not mutually exclusive. We are saved by the grace of the father, son and holy spirit alone. Nothing we "do" gives us more grace. However, we have to cooperate with God's will for us and participate in this grace by "picking up our cross and following him". That means we have to "act" like Christians for the right reasons, not to just appear like we are pious. I've spent a few years reading early church fathers and reformation "protests" So many protestant denominations are so far from the reformation "issues" by saying "scripture alone" I've read to protestants the exact Catholic dogma directly from the catechism and they say "Yes, that's what we believe". But, when I tell them "That's what Catholics believe they say "No, that is not Catholic belief, they are "works based". Ugh. Look, you can believe whatever you want. But, it's intellectually dishonest to deny that Catholic teaching is based on the bible and the beliefs of the Apostles. It's directly related to the teachings of Jesus and the understanding of the Apostles and their immediate followers. All.Of.It.

Christ never taught about a church called Protestant, Lutheran or Calvinist. Religions that started 1500 years after the crucifixion of Christ. Explain to us why if an exorcism is needed no one calls for a pastor, they call for a Catholic Priest. Why do satanists perform black Masses instead of revivals and try to steal consecrated hosts to defile. Why did the Protestant church feel the need to remove seven books out of the Bible? That is the word of God you removed. We could go on but deep down you know the answer. All your questions have been answered and refuted a million times over. It’s tiring.
@@mitchellosmer1293 The idea that "Scripture alone" (sola scriptura) is the sole infallible authority in Christianity is self-refuting because Scripture itself does not claim to be self-interpreting or the only source of infallible authority. In fact, Scripture points to the necessity of an authoritative interpreter: St. Peter warns that "no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation" (2 Peter 1:20), and St. Paul teaches that the Church is "the pillar and bulwark of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). Without an authoritative body, like the Church, to authentically interpret Scripture, diverse and conflicting interpretations arise, leading to confusion and division, which contradicts the unity Christ prayed for in John 17:21. Therefore, the premise of sola scriptura undermines itself by ignoring the need for a guiding authority established by Christ Himself. I will refer to the Bible to either confirm or clarify Catholic teachings. Understanding that some truths of the faith are derived from Sacred Tradition alongside Scripture is important, but for this response, I'll focus on biblical references. Peter as Pope: Matthew 16:18-19: "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Luke 22:31-32: "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." John 21:15-17: Jesus tells Peter three times to "feed my sheep," indicating a leadership role. Mary's Assumption: While the Assumption is not explicitly stated in Scripture, the concept of bodily assumption is hinted at with figures like Enoch (Genesis 5:24) and Elijah (2 Kings 2:11), showing it is not impossible for God to assume someone into heaven. The Assumption is a teaching derived from Sacred Tradition. Mary as Mediator/Intercessor: John 2:3-5: At the Wedding at Cana, Mary intercedes on behalf of the hosts, and Jesus responds to her intercession. Revelation 12:17: Mary is depicted as the mother of all Christians, indicating her role as intercessor. Mary's Sinlessness: Luke 1:28: The angel Gabriel calls Mary "full of grace," a term that suggests her unique holiness and sinlessness. Genesis 3:15: The woman (Mary) and her seed (Jesus) are set in enmity with the serpent (Satan), implying her sinless nature. Mary's Perpetual Virginity: Ezekiel 44:2: The prophecy about the gate that only the Lord has entered and remains shut symbolizes Mary’s perpetual virginity. Luke 1:34: Mary’s response to the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" implies her vow of virginity. Head of the Church: Colossians 1:18: Christ is the head of the Church. However, Christ appoints Peter as the earthly shepherd (John 21:15-17), indicating a leadership role, but always under Christ. The Name "Catholic": The term "Catholic" (meaning "universal") was used early by Church Fathers to describe the universal Church founded by Christ. Though not in the Bible, the concept of a unified, universal Church is scriptural: Matthew 28:19: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." Praying to the Dead: 2 Maccabees 12:45 (in the Deuterocanonical books): Prayer for the dead is implied. Revelation 5:8: The saints in heaven offer prayers to God, indicating that they are aware of earthly prayers. The Dead Hearing Prayers: Revelation 8:3-4: The prayers of the saints ascend before God, indicating that those in heaven can hear our prayers. Changing the Day of Worship: Acts 20:7: The disciples met on the first day of the week (Sunday) to break bread, indicating an early Christian practice of Sunday worship. Confession to a Priest: John 20:21-23: Jesus gives the Apostles the authority to forgive sins, a practice continued in the Sacrament of Confession. Priests Forgiving Sins: John 20:23: "If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." Salvation through the Church: Ephesians 5:23: Christ is the savior of the Church, His Body. Salvation is intimately connected with being part of this Body. Praying with Beads (Rosary): While not explicitly in Scripture, repetitive prayer is seen in Matthew 6:7. The use of beads is a tradition developed to help focus on meditative prayer. Additional Points (Scripture that mentions or supports certain Catholic practices): Indulgences: Rooted in the authority to bind and loose (Matthew 16:19). Penance: Matthew 4:17 - "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Purgatory: 1 Corinthians 3:15 and 2 Maccabees 12:45 suggest purification after death. Infant Baptism: Acts 16:15, 33 - entire households, likely including children, were baptized. December 25th (Christmas) and Easter: Derived from Tradition, not explicit in Scripture, but the celebration of Christ’s birth and Resurrection is biblically justified. Unmarried Priests: 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 praises celibacy for the sake of the kingdom. Burning Incense: Revelation 8:3-4 - incense used in heavenly worship. Holy Water: Numbers 5:17 - holy water used in a ritual context. In conclusion, while not every Catholic belief is explicitly detailed in Scripture, many are rooted in biblical principles and practices. Additionally, the Church relies on Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium (the teaching authority of the Church) to fully understand and teach the faith handed down by Christ and the Apostles.
One thing that convinced me of the truth of the Catholic Holy Eucharistic is that Satanists use hosts consecrated at Catholic Mass for their ceremonies. For them, desecrating the body of Christ is one of the worst ways they can rebel against God. They don’t steal the crackers and grape juice from non-Catholic worship services to use in their black masses. I love Protestants, but no way am I turning down the mind boggling grace of receiving Christ Himself as my nourishment-every day if I want, anywhere in the world.
please go to catholic church during the mass and listen just close your eyes so that you don't get distracted only to listen. it will explain everything about the Eucharistic that we catholic we part taken one words that we never forget is Jesus said to us do this in memory of me. as we remember how much He love us through His death and resurrection and we believe that we will see him again in his glory.
Yes, my Cahtholic friend said they actually have people watching the assembly during worship to make sure they don't leave the building with communion. Protestant churches are infiltrated doo, and they are woefully ignorant of how sophisticated these covens can be.
I appreciate that this gentleman made a point to reframe the conversation to Catholics vs Protestants as opposed to Catholics vs Christians. I have noticed that American Evangelicals tend to use these terms often to the exclusion of not just Catholics, but Orthodox and even more traditional/historical forms of Protestantism like Lutherans or High Church Anglicans. Good on you sir for looking at the bigger historical picture.
Thanks for the kind words! The original question "Catholics vs. Christians" is actually one of the top trending questions asked on Google about Christianity. Should have made it more clear what the origin of the question was in the video haha.
Appreciate the kindness. However, when I hear Protestants say, “we don’t believe that works are needed in order to be saved or to make it to heaven”, I get astonished. When you read Jesus saying, “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matthew 7:19) or Paul saying, “do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), how can you possibly assert that what we do is irrelevant for our final destination?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's not that good works are not important, they most definitely are. But, it's our faith in Jesus that is the only reason any of us are actually capable of obtaining salvation. The way you live your life simply either reflects your faith in Jesus, or it doesn't. But it is not the source of salvation. Hopefully, I explained that well haha.
@@SnohomishFaith thanks for your kind reply. I have a question then. What happens when we stop producing good fruits after we get saved? I am thinking for example about those many Christians who maybe used to be on fire with Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit (previous pastors, etc.) but then eventually lost their faith and became atheists (there are so many “de-conversion” testimonies on YT). Are they still going to make it to heaven even if they die as atheists?
@@thejerichoconnection3473 If they've rejected their faith in Jesus/rejected their salvation, then I don't see why they would be in heaven. Depending on who you ask though, the answer may be different. But at the end of the day, it's all in God's hands.
@@SnohomishFaith ok, thanks for your answer. So, based on your own answer, wouldn’t you conclude that our actions/decisions do matter in terms of our final destination?
As a catholic, I have to salute this guy because usually most protestants be like: "Catholics are not Christians, they are going to hell" Anyway what i can't wrap my mind about is that: do you really believe that Jesus allowed his gospel view in his church to be corrupted and after 1000yrs Martin Luther came in to give us the true gospel ? Was he some sort of prophet in disguise to give the catholics at the time the true gospel? People wouldn't go to heaven because they didn't have the gospel of Martin Luther ?
Tradition over the bible? You choose the bible which Catholics compiled it and called it the bible today. Without Catholics the old and new testament books would still be separated until today. There wouldn't be protestant group to begin with. To be honest protestant Jesus and Catholic Jesus are very different. You see, when protestant understand the last supper and Jesus said the words, protestant understood it as symbolic and not the Eucharistic. In Catholic, the last supper is the Eucharist. Thus, the interpretation is so different so the Jesus in both group are not the same. It is like Islam, they have their own Jesus. A very different kind of Jesus in Christian. If you dig deep and look for ancient christians they have tradition and broke bread when they had religious gatherings. If you have guts to dig deep go ahead if you really want to know the one true church. Do you own research.
Your Christian status is dictated by what is in your heart. There are Christians in name only in every sect. I know Catholic priests that spend 2 to 3 hours a day praying. Not sure I've met a Protestant minister so aggressively dedicated to prayer.

I didn’t feel a drip of the usual oozing hatred Prots tend to dump on us in this. You are a man of God. I think I could sit through your sermons without feeling like i was surrounded by demons.
The main difference is that Jesus Christ established the Catholic Church in 33AD, over 1,500 years before Martin Luther, Joseph Smith or Ellen G. White came along. Only it has the fullness of truth of true Christianity. As for the faith question, Catholics absolutely believe faith alone saves us but also believe our interpretation is more biblical. Protestants exclude many passages alluding to co-operating with that faith. And no Catholic doctrine does not contradict the Bible. We do not rely on tradition alone. By sacred tradition we refer to the oral traditions passed down from the apostles and their successors in the 400 years before the Bible was created by the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church canonised the Bible over 1,100 years before Protestantism was even a man made idea. It did that with the authority given to it by Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church has the sole divine authority to interpret it for Christian doctrine. You are welcome to read it but you do not have the authority to create your own Christian doctrine. This is precisely what has caused so much disunity in 500 years and a sea of errors and heresy. Your doctrine of faith alone was never believed by any Christian for over 1,500 years before Martin Luther. He said killing 1,000 people a day would not prevent you from going to heaven. Even if you are right (you aren’t), Protestants and Catholics go to heaven. If Catholics are right, we go to heaven and Protestants could go to hell. Catholics believe in faith with love - what Jesus and the Bible teaches, not what Martin Luther taught.
Scripture alone makes no sense. All understanding of scripture is based on an intellectual interpretation of the words (and the translation process). Protestants base their interpretation on the tradition of Luther, the tradition of Calvin, the tradition of xxxxxx, (you name it), or some combination. Catholics base their interpretation on the teaching of the Apostles as seen in Scripture and in the historical teachings of their successors. The NT was written to support the Apostolic teaching, not the other way around. If you want to believe in the teaching of Luther 1500 years later, that is your choice. I would rather follow the Apostles who always believed in grace, and that to get to heaven one must DO the will of the Father (works) and must have Faith. Remember it was only to the Apostles in the upper room whom were promised to be given the Spirit of Truth.
@@davidkeys8786 You are completely right ! Only the apostolic Churches are right, more than 2000 years of live in Christ ! All this new synagogues are not Christian , they have no apostolic roots! And no true name !
As a Catholic, deep in history and devoted reader of scripture, thank you for very charitable discussion. That said, you still strawman the catholic faith by acting like we care a list of works around. Read what Jesus Christ said. Please don't pick a few lines from Paul's letters and generate an entire theological framework from that. That's not historic Christianity. So, I believe your title word choice is misleading: instead of "Christians and Catholics" is correctly should be said "Christian = Catholic". Please don't manufacture a false history. Protestantism is an invention of the 16th Century. It is not a restoration of authentic Christianity. Read the Church fathers. I keep praying for unity. God bless.

QUOTE FROM the BIBLE!!!!) Remember these words from Jesus: John 14:6 NIV - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Since HE IS THE TRUTH, then when a church preaches their version of the truth, who is the truth??? Jesus or the "Church"??? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sola scriptura, like the Trinity and the sovereignty of God is found by definition not title. Shall we do this again? Here we go preaching to the blind. First, the Bible teaches not to add or take away from Scripture. Paul writes that we should not “exceed what is written” (1 Cor. 4:6) Likewise, Moses writes, “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it” (Deut. 4:2; cf. 12:32). If another authority could either add or take away from Scripture, then this would invalidate these passages of Scripture. Second, Scripture is the litmus test for discerning truth. Every time Jesus needs to answer a doctrinal question, he cites Scripture-not tradition. The phrase “It is written…” occurs some 90 times in the NT. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees saying, “You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures” (Mt. 22:29). Third, the Bible does not allow for tradition to be equal or superior to Scripture. Jesus said, “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? … by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition” (Mt. 15:3, 6). Fourth, Luke calls the Bereans “noble-minded” for “examining the Scriptures daily” to see if the gospel was true (Acts 17:11). Fifth, Timothy was able to come to faith through the OT Scriptures as a child (2 Tim. 3:14-15). If a little child could come to faith through the OT Scriptures, how much more could a fully grown adult come to faith with the completed canon? Sixth, Paul tells Timothy that Scripture is sufficient for faith and morals (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Paul writes: “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Seventh, tradition is not a reliable way to transmit truth. Catholic apologists often appeal to the Church Fathers to defend doctrines, but we see no reason to believe in the early Church Fathers. In fact, false traditions were even appearing in the first century. Paul writes, “You are aware of the fact that all who are in Asia turned away from me” (2 Tim. 1:15). Eighth, Sola Scriptura is not an invention of the Reformation. While we do not ultimately hang our argument on history, it is verifiable that this view has been present throughout the history of the Christian Church. (1) Scripture is the sole, infallible rule of faith. (2) No other revelation is needed for the Church. (3) There is no other infallible rule of faith outside of Scripture. (4) Scripture reveals those things necessary for salvation. (5) All traditions are subject to the higher authority of Scripture. But I think it’s extremely important you understand what it is not… (1) We do NOT mean that we start from scratch every time we read the Bible. Of course, we should also read commentaries, quote scholars, etc. (2) We do NOT mean Scripture is an exhaustive account of spiritual or other knowledge (Jn. 20:30; 21:25). (3) We do NOT mean the Church has no role in interpreting the Bible. 1 Timothy 3:15 states that the church is “the pillar and support of the truth.” (4) We do NOT mean that we should reject all traditions. Some traditions are helpful to us as believers, and we see no reason to abandon these simply because they are extra-biblical. However, we contend that all human tradition should be subservient to Scripture-not equal to or above it. (5) We do NOT mean that the apostles never spoke the word of God to people (Acts 2:42; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Thess. 2:15; 3:6). When the apostles were alive, they could speak on faith and morals in person. However, since we do not have this luxury today, we must rely on their writings. Jude writes of “the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints” (Jude 3). >>> Sola Scriptura, or “God’s Word alone,” maintains that the Bible is the highest source of authority in a Christian’s life, the final court of appeal (though not the only authority: the Bible itself mentions governmental and other authorities). Sola gratia, or “grace alone,” says sinners are saved as an unearned gift of God’s grace, “not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph 2:8-9). Sola Christo (“solus Christus”), or “Christ alone,” emphasizes the exclusivity of Jesus’ role in salvation: “No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). And soli Deo gloria, or “to the glory of God alone,” says that the purpose of creation, salvation, and everything-including our goal as Christians-is the glory of God, “that God may be all in all” (1 Cor 15:28).
The real question is actually, are Protestants Christians? Protestants ignore many of Jesus Christ's ultimatums, commands, and teachings. If a basketball player ignores his coach is he really part of the team? When Protestants ignore Christ are they really part of Christ's team? Jesus founded one Church on Cephas, not Petra or Petros. Jesus founded ONLY 1 Church. Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, and many others have founded many other churches primarily starting in the 1500s. Protestants ignore Jesus' ultimatum in John 6. Jesus says His body is real food or His blood is real drink 18 times. John 6:53 NIV: “53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." It seems most Protestants claim Jesus was being symbolic. Was Jesus really being symbolic 18 times? John 6:60 "60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?” If He was being only symbolic why would it be hard to accept? If Jesus was speaking in symbolism why did many disciples leave Him? John 6:66 NIV: "66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him." If Jesus was being symbolic, why didn't He call to those who left Him saying, "I was just kidding." Instead Jesus doubled down in John 6:67-68: "67 "“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Peter believed what Jesus said even though he couldn't understand how he could eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus. The apostles knew Jesus wasn't kidding. The apostles had seen many miracles by Jesus. They performed miracles in Jesus' name themselves, and knew all things were possible for Jesus. At the Last Supper they learned how they could eat His flesh and drink HIs blood. Do I understand how I am eating the body of Jesus and drinking HIs blood in the Eucharist? No. It's miraculous, but Jesus said it and authorized His Church to continue it. If I'm a Christian I must believe Jesus or I'm a liar and hypocrite. Some Protestants say Baptism is nothing but a show to demonstrate the person believes in Jesus. Many, not all, Protestants ignore Jesus ultimatum in John 3:5, "5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God UNLESS they are born of water and the Spirit." Jesus said we must be born of water and the Spirit. Was He kidding about this ultimatum too? 1 Peter 3:21 "21 and this water symbolizes BAPTISM THAT NOW SAVES YOU also" Protestants say works aren't necessary. NIV 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father who is in heaven." DOING the will of God is doing the many WORKS that Jesus commanded. No works means not doing the will of God. Do we earn salvation. No, but works are evidence that proves our faith. James, especially chapter 2, explains this well.

@@mitchellosmer1293 I’ll break down and refute your claims systematically. While your points are framed as “facts,” many are based on misunderstandings of Catholic doctrine, selective reading of Scripture, or a lack of historical context. Here’s a response addressing each claim with FACTS: *FACTS:* Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that Peter is a pope.”* While Christ didn’t use the term “pope,” He explicitly gave Peter unique authority: - _Matthew 16:18-19:_ “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church... I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” - _John 21:15-17:_ Jesus commands Peter three times to “feed my sheep,” signifying pastoral authority over the Church. The early Church Fathers also recognized Peter as the leader of the apostles and the first Bishop of Rome. Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary will go to heaven.”* Mary’s Assumption is rooted in her being “full of grace” (Luke 1:28) and her unique role as the Mother of God (Theotokos). Scripture never explicitly mentions Mary’s death or Assumption, but neither does it deny it. The Church teaches this doctrine based on Sacred Tradition and the belief in the resurrection of the body (1 Corinthians 15:52). Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that Mary is a mediator/intercessor.”* 1 Timothy 2:5 says Christ is the sole Mediator, meaning He is the only one who reconciles humanity to God. However, intercession (asking others to pray for us) is biblical: - _1 Timothy 2:1-3:_ Paul urges intercessory prayers for all people. - Mary’s intercession is evident in _John 2:1-11_ (Wedding at Cana), where she intercedes with Jesus, leading to His first miracle. Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary never sinned.”* Mary’s Immaculate Conception is implied in _Luke 1:28:_ “Hail, full of grace.” Grace, in its fullness, excludes sin. Additionally, Mary needed to be a pure vessel to bear Christ, the sinless Saviour. Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary remained a virgin.”* The perpetual virginity of Mary is upheld by tradition and Scripture: - _Ezekiel 44:2:_ A prophecy that the “gate” through which the Lord enters remains shut. - The “brothers” of Jesus mentioned in Scripture (e.g., Mark 6:3) are understood as cousins or relatives, as the term “brother” (adelphos) had a broader meaning in Hebrew and Aramaic. Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that a mere man is head of His church.”* Christ appointed Peter as the visible leader of His Church (Matthew 16:18-19). The pope, as Peter’s successor, serves as the visible head of the Church on Earth, while Christ remains its divine Head (Ephesians 1:22-23). Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught about a church named Catholic.”* The term _Catholic_ means “universal” and was first used by St. Ignatius of Antioch (AD 107). While the name “Catholic” isn’t in Scripture, Christ founded one visible Church (Matthew 16:18, John 17:21), and the early Church clearly identified itself as such. Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that we can pray to the dead.”* Us Catholics don’t pray “to” the dead but ask saints to intercede for them. - _Revelation 5:8_ and _Revelation 8:3:_ Saints and angels present prayers to God. - _Hebrews 12:1:_ Describes a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounding believers. Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that the dead can hear our prayers.”* While Scripture doesn’t explicitly say “the dead can hear prayers,” it provides evidence that saints in heaven are aware of and involved in earthly affairs: - _Revelation 5:8:_ The elders in heaven present the prayers of the saints to God, indicating that those in heaven are aware of prayers from Earth. - _Revelation 8:3-4:_ Angels offer the prayers of the saints before God, showing a connection between heavenly beings and earthly prayers. - _Hebrews 12:1:_ Describes a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounding believers, which suggests the saints are aware of and involved in the spiritual struggles of Christians. Us Catholics don’t believe saints hear prayers by their own power but through God’s allowance in their glorified state, as part of the communion of saints (1 Corinthians 12:26-27). Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that anyone can change the day of worship.”* The Resurrection occurred on Sunday (John 20:1), and the early Christians gathered on the “Lord’s Day” (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2). Sunday worship reflects this new covenant reality. Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught to confess to a ‘priest.’”* Confession is rooted in: - _John 20:22-23:_ “If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven.” Christ gave the apostles the authority to forgive sins. - _James 5:16:_ “Confess your sins to one another.” Your claim: *“Christ NEVER Taught a priest can forgive your sins.”* Christ explicitly gave His apostles the authority to forgive sins: - _John 20:22-23:_ “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” This power was directly bestowed by Christ to His apostles and, by extension, to their successors. - _Matthew 16:19:_ Jesus gave Peter the “keys to the kingdom” with the power to bind and loose, a clear reference to authority over spiritual matters, including forgiveness. - _2 Corinthians 5:18:_ Paul says God “gave us the ministry of reconciliation,” indicating that God works through human ministers to reconcile sinners. Catholic priests exercise this authority as successors to the apostles, acting as instruments of God’s forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught salvation is through a church.”* While Christ’s sacrifice is the source of salvation, He established the Church as His body (Ephesians 1:22-23) and the means to bring people to Him (Matthew 28:19-20). The Church is the “pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught to pray to, or with beads!”* The Rosary is a devotional aid, not an invention of doctrine. Repetitive prayer is biblical: - _Psalm 136:_ Repeats “His mercy endures forever.” - Christ Himself prayed repeatedly in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:44). *Regarding Additional Practices:* Many of your objections (e.g., indulgences, purgatory, priesthood, etc.) are addressed in Sacred Tradition and supported by Scriptural principles. The Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, teaches these doctrines based on the fullness of Divine Revelation, not “invention.” For example: - Purgatory: _1 Corinthians 3:15 and 2 Maccabees __12:45__._ - Infant Baptism: _Acts 16:15, 33;_ households were baptized. - Holy Water: _Numbers __5:17__._ Your closing remarks about “wizard hats,” statues, and Satan are dismissive and lack substantive critique. Christianity is rooted in faith and reason. The Catholic Church is the historic, apostolic Church founded by Christ, and its doctrines are firmly grounded in Scripture and Tradition.
I would not say that, considering that orthodox churches exist as well and that they were once part of a single church in which the catholic church was also part. That original church started to split as time passed by. But greek orthodox, coptics and other orthodox branches are just as old as teh catholic church, they are "cognates" (born together), they share a common ancestor. moreover, there was christianity before the church took form
@@chusty93 No. there was a Church first, then Christianity. There were the Apostles who taught long before they wrote anything. Even Paul speaks of the church in (location)...the church in (location)... Even these churches of the Church existed before Paul wrote to them.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 “ So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” This is an example of the two sources of the word of God. word of mouth is saying the oral traditions passed on to us by the apostles. Letter is talking about the epistle that the apostles sent out that the early church put together and formed the scriptures. To some up holding fast traditions by mouth or letter are the two ways sacred tradition, which is the word of God coming from Jesus himself is passed on to us. Either by tradition from apostles or scripture. A lot of protestant bibles will use the word teaching. But in the original Greek bible they use the word paradosis and that is the Greek word for tradition.

The Catholic Church is the only church on earth that isn't man-made. It was established by Jesus Christ himself when He said to Peter "Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it" History has proven that to be true - a fact no other faith can claim
Thank you Rod - you’re very kind. It seems to me that Protestantism is a plain reading of Luther’s shortened Bible, attempting to simplify an infinite God. The thinking often skip or brush over difficult questions, leading to the creation of new Protestant denominations. One clear example of this is the debate on faith versus works. The answer is simple and true, but not complete, and the theology/philosophy is very poorly developed. I love Protestant people; many of them have 100 times the faith of many Catholics. It’s their church’s underdeveloped and simplistic theology that leads people away from the Church. And whenever they disagree, their solution is simply to create a new Protestant church.

You can't draw a distinction between faith and tradition. Sacred Tradition says the Bible is Word of God, and the Magisterium of the Church gives the Church the authority to say that. The Church precedes the Bible, and the Church decides what texts are in the Bible. Since no person has the authority to add or detract from the Bible, what Luther did by subtracting certain texts was an act of heresy, and to this day the thousands of ecclesiastical communions that comprise Protestantism believe different things, based on their idiosyncratic interpretation of the text.

If Catholicism is not Christian then please explain why ALL Bible believing people receive their rule of faith, the Bible, from her, the Bride of Christ… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings. Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? Catholics and Christians are not the same. Catholics believe in a different gospel (Galatians 1:8).
2 John 1:10 KJV-“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:” The popes have always preached a false gospel. The man in this video said there are two branches of Christianity and they believe in different things. The LDS' believes different things too. People need to follow God. Not man.

Well yeah The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. The Eucharist is really, truly and substantially the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity Jesus Christ under the appearances of Bread and wine. That is proven through Scripture, Early Church writings, and science studying the miracles of The Eucharist.
No Protestants and Catholics are different but both groups claim Christianity. Each person determines which denomination of Christianity is the one they follow. Personally I’m convinced that Catholic is NOT correct, BUT that is a personal belief you have yours I have mine. I’m married to the daughter of a Freewill Baptist minister so guess which church we attend. Personally I think SDA is the most correct denomination that I am aware of. I think Catholic puts too much emphasis upon the Pope. Papal decrees, in my opinion, have distorted Catholic teachings a LOT! I know one thing for sure. Saturday is the Sabbath in scripture, and SUNDAY is a false sabbath of the Catholic tradition.

Catholicism, like many main stream religions, complicates salvation. John 3-16 is the simplest of the salvation messages. The one group of people that our Savior went head to head with was the religious establishment. Believers are the church, the bride of Christ, the body of Christ with Christ as its head. We are not members of our "holy mother the church." There is no praying before statues, nor praying to Mary or the saints. There is no Purgatory because Christ's blood on the cross was complete payment for our sins.

Catholics do not worship Mary,,,that would be wrong as Mary, the Mother of God , gives all honor to Jesus. Read Cana wedding feast,,,here Jesus shows how much HE honors his mother by responding to her plea for help. I love my earthly mother , bring her flowers, look at her picture. Statues are only meant to help us focus our attention on the person represented. At the cross, by giving his mother to the care of John, Jesus gives Mary to all of us ...a wonderful gift...a most loving Mother

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, appreciate it!

Both have their place in a Christians life for sure. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Faith without works is dead.
James 2 14-24
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Works are the fruits of faith.
@@CountCulture27 _Works are the fruits of faith._
I am not sure what you are getting at, but in an attempt to clarify, salvation is not a fruit of works. Salvation is the fruit of faith, but salvation is not the fruit of works at all, like Catholics claim.

I've spent a few years reading early church fathers and reformation "protests" So many protestant denominations are so far from the reformation "issues" by saying "scripture alone"
I've read to protestants the exact Catholic dogma directly from the catechism and they say "Yes, that's what we believe".
All.Of.It.

@@mitchellosmer1293 excellent post.
@@mitchellosmer1293
The idea that "Scripture alone" (sola scriptura) is the sole infallible authority in Christianity is self-refuting because Scripture itself does not claim to be self-interpreting or the only source of infallible authority.
Peter as Pope:
Matthew 16:18-19: "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Luke 22:31-32: "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."
John 21:15-17: Jesus tells Peter three times to "feed my sheep," indicating a leadership role.
Mary's Assumption:
While the Assumption is not explicitly stated in Scripture, the concept of bodily assumption is hinted at with figures like Enoch (Genesis 5:24) and Elijah (2 Kings 2:11), showing it is not impossible for God to assume someone into heaven. The Assumption is a teaching derived from Sacred Tradition.
Mary as Mediator/Intercessor:
John 2:3-5: At the Wedding at Cana, Mary intercedes on behalf of the hosts, and Jesus responds to her intercession.
Revelation 12:17: Mary is depicted as the mother of all Christians, indicating her role as intercessor.
Mary's Sinlessness:
Luke 1:28: The angel Gabriel calls Mary "full of grace," a term that suggests her unique holiness and sinlessness.
Genesis 3:15: The woman (Mary) and her seed (Jesus) are set in enmity with the serpent (Satan), implying her sinless nature.
Mary's Perpetual Virginity:
Ezekiel 44:2: The prophecy about the gate that only the Lord has entered and remains shut symbolizes Mary’s perpetual virginity.
Luke 1:34: Mary’s response to the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" implies her vow of virginity.
Head of the Church:
Colossians 1:18: Christ is the head of the Church.
However, Christ appoints Peter as the earthly shepherd (John 21:15-17), indicating a leadership role, but always under Christ.
The Name "Catholic":
The term "Catholic" (meaning "universal") was used early by Church Fathers to describe the universal Church founded by Christ. Though not in the Bible, the concept of a unified, universal Church is scriptural:
Matthew 28:19: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations."
Praying to the Dead:
2 Maccabees 12:45 (in the Deuterocanonical books): Prayer for the dead is implied.
Revelation 5:8: The saints in heaven offer prayers to God, indicating that they are aware of earthly prayers.
The Dead Hearing Prayers:
Revelation 8:3-4: The prayers of the saints ascend before God, indicating that those in heaven can hear our prayers.
Changing the Day of Worship:
Acts 20:7: The disciples met on the first day of the week (Sunday) to break bread, indicating an early Christian practice of Sunday worship.
Confession to a Priest:
John 20:21-23: Jesus gives the Apostles the authority to forgive sins, a practice continued in the Sacrament of Confession.
Priests Forgiving Sins:
John 20:23: "If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
Salvation through the Church:
Ephesians 5:23: Christ is the savior of the Church, His Body. Salvation is intimately connected with being part of this Body.
Praying with Beads (Rosary):
While not explicitly in Scripture, repetitive prayer is seen in Matthew 6:7. The use of beads is a tradition developed to help focus on meditative prayer.
Additional Points (Scripture that mentions or supports certain Catholic practices):
Indulgences: Rooted in the authority to bind and loose (Matthew 16:19).
Penance: Matthew 4:17 - "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Purgatory: 1 Corinthians 3:15 and 2 Maccabees 12:45 suggest purification after death.

Do some people think they aren't?
As a catholic, I have to salute this guy because usually most protestants be like: "Catholics are not Christians, they are going to hell"
Anyway what i can't wrap my mind about is that:
do you really believe that Jesus allowed his gospel view in his church to be corrupted and after 1000yrs Martin Luther came in to give us the true gospel ?
Was he some sort of prophet in disguise to give the catholics at the time the true gospel?
People wouldn't go to heaven because they didn't have the gospel of Martin Luther ?
Most protestants do believe Catholics are Christians

We can argue, "body and blood" of christ, and holly Eucarist, Saints and Mother Mary, at the end of the day, we dont follow Muhammed, so theres that lol But seriously, should there be another Crusade, would we all stand together? I would hope so...
Unfortunately ,there are non Catholic Christians ,who deny that we are NOT separated bros and sis .One Pastor stated that Catholics are not from God ,but from the opposite side .
@@alexespanto5270 my brother I hear you, unfortunately, "rock concerts" in protestant churches are always going to be "cool"..
No, faith alone is dead … said apostle James ! Faith is always unite with works ! The faith of these heretics is death !
@@davidkeys8786Amen. And their successors in his one true church.
God bless.
The title is a question, we answered the question. I'm not following your thinking on how that is misleading. Thanks for sharing your two cents.

-----I will ask you, which NO ONE has replied to: Who's other writings does GOD tell us to accept as the truth??? QUOTE FROM the BIBLE!!!!)
Remember these words from Jesus: John 14:6 NIV -
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
But I think it’s extremely important you understand what it is not…
(1) We do NOT mean that we start from scratch every time we read the Bible. Of course, we should also read commentaries, quote scholars, etc.
(2) We do NOT mean Scripture is an exhaustive account of spiritual or other knowledge (Jn. 20:30; 21:25).
(3) We do NOT mean the Church has no role in interpreting the Bible. 1 Timothy 3:15 states that the church is “the pillar and support of the truth.”
(4) We do NOT mean that we should reject all traditions.
>>>
John 6:66 NIV: "66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him."
If Jesus was being symbolic, why didn't He call to those who left Him saying, "I was just kidding." Instead Jesus doubled down in John 6:67-68: "67 "“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
1 Peter 3:21 "21 and this water symbolizes BAPTISM THAT NOW SAVES YOU also"
Protestants say works aren't necessary.
I'm glad you corrected him on his distinction between "Christians" and Catholics.

@@mitchellosmer1293Christ never taught about sola scriptura or any other sola. So protestants are not christians
@@mitchellosmer1293 I’ll break down and refute your claims systematically. While your points are framed as “facts,” many are based on misunderstandings of Catholic doctrine, selective reading of Scripture, or a lack of historical context. Here’s a response addressing each claim with FACTS:
*FACTS:*
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that Peter is a pope.”*
While Christ didn’t use the term “pope,” He explicitly gave Peter unique authority:
- _Matthew 16:18-19:_ “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church... I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”
- _John 21:15-17:_ Jesus commands Peter three times to “feed my sheep,” signifying pastoral authority over the Church.
The early Church Fathers also recognized Peter as the leader of the apostles and the first Bishop of Rome.
Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary will go to heaven.”*
Mary’s Assumption is rooted in her being “full of grace” (Luke 1:28) and her unique role as the Mother of God (Theotokos). Scripture never explicitly mentions Mary’s death or Assumption, but neither does it deny it. The Church teaches this doctrine based on Sacred Tradition and the belief in the resurrection of the body (1 Corinthians 15:52).
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that Mary is a mediator/intercessor.”*
1 Timothy 2:5 says Christ is the sole Mediator, meaning He is the only one who reconciles humanity to God. However, intercession (asking others to pray for us) is biblical:
- _1 Timothy 2:1-3:_ Paul urges intercessory prayers for all people.
- Mary’s intercession is evident in _John 2:1-11_ (Wedding at Cana), where she intercedes with Jesus, leading to His first miracle.
Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary never sinned.”*
Mary’s Immaculate Conception is implied in _Luke 1:28:_ “Hail, full of grace.” Grace, in its fullness, excludes sin. Additionally, Mary needed to be a pure vessel to bear Christ, the sinless Saviour.
Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that Mary remained a virgin.”*
The perpetual virginity of Mary is upheld by tradition and Scripture:
- _Ezekiel 44:2:_ A prophecy that the “gate” through which the Lord enters remains shut.
- The “brothers” of Jesus mentioned in Scripture (e.g., Mark 6:3) are understood as cousins or relatives, as the term “brother” (adelphos) had a broader meaning in Hebrew and Aramaic.
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that a mere man is head of His church.”*
Christ appointed Peter as the visible leader of His Church (Matthew 16:18-19). The pope, as Peter’s successor, serves as the visible head of the Church on Earth, while Christ remains its divine Head (Ephesians 1:22-23).
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught about a church named Catholic.”*
The term _Catholic_ means “universal” and was first used by St. Ignatius of Antioch (AD 107). While the name “Catholic” isn’t in Scripture, Christ founded one visible Church (Matthew 16:18, John 17:21), and the early Church clearly identified itself as such.
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that we can pray to the dead.”*
Us Catholics don’t pray “to” the dead but ask saints to intercede for them.
- _Revelation 5:8_ and _Revelation 8:3:_ Saints and angels present prayers to God.
- _Hebrews 12:1:_ Describes a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounding believers.
Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught that the dead can hear our prayers.”*
While Scripture doesn’t explicitly say “the dead can hear prayers,” it provides evidence that saints in heaven are aware of and involved in earthly affairs:
- _Revelation 5:8:_ The elders in heaven present the prayers of the saints to God, indicating that those in heaven are aware of prayers from Earth.
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught that anyone can change the day of worship.”*
The Resurrection occurred on Sunday (John 20:1), and the early Christians gathered on the “Lord’s Day” (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2). Sunday worship reflects this new covenant reality.
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught to confess to a ‘priest.’”*
Confession is rooted in:
- _John 20:22-23:_ “If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven.” Christ gave the apostles the authority to forgive sins.
- _James 5:16:_ “Confess your sins to one another.”
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER Taught a priest can forgive your sins.”*
Christ explicitly gave His apostles the authority to forgive sins:
- _John 20:22-23:_ “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Your claim: *“Christ NEVER taught salvation is through a church.”*
While Christ’s sacrifice is the source of salvation, He established the Church as His body (Ephesians 1:22-23) and the means to bring people to Him (Matthew 28:19-20). The Church is the “pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).
Your claim: *”Christ NEVER taught to pray to, or with beads!”*
The Rosary is a devotional aid, not an invention of doctrine. Repetitive prayer is biblical:
- _Psalm 136:_ Repeats “His mercy endures forever.”
- Christ Himself prayed repeatedly in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:44).
*Regarding Additional Practices:*
Many of your objections (e.g., indulgences, purgatory, priesthood, etc.) are addressed in Sacred Tradition and supported by Scriptural principles. The Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, teaches these doctrines based on the fullness of Divine Revelation, not “invention.” For example:
- Purgatory: _1 Corinthians 3:15 and 2 Maccabees __12:45__._
- Infant Baptism: _Acts 16:15, 33;_ households were baptized.
- Holy Water: _Numbers __5:17__._
Your closing remarks about “wizard hats,” statues, and Satan are dismissive and lack substantive critique. Christianity is rooted in faith and reason. The Catholic Church is the historic, apostolic Church founded by Christ, and its doctrines are firmly grounded in Scripture and Tradition.
Catholics were the first Christians
Cool beans
I would not say that, considering that orthodox churches exist as well and that they were once part of a single church in which the catholic church was also part. "Are Christians and Lutherans the same?"
Roman Catholicism and "mainstream Protestantism" are different, but more same. Meanwhile, Lutherans and Southern Baptists are both Protestants, but definitely not the same.
Did you watch the video?
2 Thessalonians 2:15 “ So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter”
This is an example of the two sources of the word of God. word of mouth is saying the oral traditions passed on to us by the apostles.

What does the Bible say about not adding or subtracting?
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deut. 4:2.) Later in this same book of the law, Moses repeated the admonition in similar words.
What does the Bible say about addition and subtraction?
Bible Verses about God's Word, Adding or Subtracting
Deuteronomy 4:2-5. You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. ...

Deuteronomy 12:32. ...
Proverbs 30:5-6. ...
Matthew 5:18. ...

ONLY letters to various churches (and Revelations by John) were written BY the disciples. NONE were Catholic!!!

Catholicism vs Relativism 💫
Protestants broke away from the true church
The Catholic Church is the only church on earth that isn't man-made. It was established by Jesus Christ himself when He said to Peter "Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it" History has proven that to be true - a fact no other faith can claim
If your religion was created in the 1500s, you really shouldn't be judging anyone
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, appreciate it!

The Sacraments and Eucharist in particular are what Catholicism is anout
I know one thing for sure. so if the Catholic church told you there is NO God, you'd believe that???
OF COURSE NOT!
You are certainly welcome to believe and profess whatever you want to believe, there are plenty of differing beliefs in the world today based on the Bible, just pick one. But to glean this from the historically decidedly Catholic Trinitarian book is just plain silly…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books, and ONLY the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time.
Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 4th century, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
Peace!!!
Short answer. NO
Read scripture and your mind will be changed. Read Matthew 16:18-19.
@@MJ23915 the False Church pretty much is parked themselves in the four gospels which is Judaism and they will never understand Christianity
@@MJ23915 do you also recite the Lord’s prayer which is for the Jews to pray for their promised earthly kingdom to come? And then do you pray for forgiveness of sins as you forgive others? Is that how we are forgiven today after the cross?
@@_ready__ the Lord’s Prayer was given to us by Jesus Christ himself. And no one can forgive sins except God. Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, forgives sins and gave the authority to forgive sins to his Apostles. This is confirmed in Matthew 9:6-8, Matthew 28:20, and John 20:21-23 for example.
@@MJ23915 given to who? Who was Jesus’ ministry to only while on earth ?? Use Jesus’ words to answer! Not a false church of false doctrine.
