- In this video, you'll see a new car to the GreenLightFilming Channel! It's a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6.
It's heavily modified with a Brian Tooley (BTR) Stage 4 Camshaft and supporting modifications, Speed Engineering Longtube Headers into a Borla Catback. Speed engineering catch can, SLP Lid, EGR Delete. UMI Tubular/adjustable rear LCA's/Panhard Bar and Bilstein Shocks. MGW short throw shifter, lightweight flywheel and a Grip Force Clutch.

I just bought a 2001 Trans Am NHRA Edition. Only 37,000 miles on it. Black, auto and comes with T tops. I’ve always wanted one of these babies. I’m installing an awesome aftermarket stereo system in it first. Than I’ll work on everything else to include painting the Firebird logo on the hood.

@@bowtiebuilding with that many miles it’s worth around 5k or less regardless if it’s a ws6 that thing is worn out and might have frequent problems

Sweet Ride... I just bought a 94 Pontiac trans am. This will be my 3rd one. I had a 97 ws6 a 2001 ws6.and now this 94. But this is not a ws6. It's all stock LT1 with 182000 miles. It's going to be a project trans am cause it needs TLC... O have a 07 Z06 with 23000 miles on it with just a k&n air filter Cooks header's a Billy boat cat back system... So I'm looking forward to building my 94 trans am...

The gto is a really good value! The rear end on then makes me a little leary (says the guy with a 10 bolt trans am) lol. The ws6 is a really cool car. I love them, hope you find a good one!

I just bought a 2001 Trans Am NHRA edition. Only 37,000 miles. Black, auto, T tops. Pristine condition. I used to live in the woodland neighborhood in Duluth as a kid in the early 80s. Lived with my Grandparents while my dad was doing TDY in Okinawa when he was in the navy. Duluth was much better than living in Fargo. LoL
Nice cars, I'm a purest Pontiac guy always wanted to get a new T/A and drop a Ram Air 5 in that bad boy, nothing against a LS engine. Sweet cars, planning on a vette purchase this summer for myself probably a C5 Z06 they are in my price range. I own a 1980 Y84 with a 1970 455 4 speed and a 79 firebird drag car with a 1972 455 H.O. Bored and stroked. Looking forward to getting a vette with the LS, want to learn about them, they seem to be great power plants. Will be watching your channel. 👍👍

What sort of ride do you have over in Italy?
GreenLightFilming Sadly...gas prices here are roughly $7.25 a gallon and I'm here long-term I went for gas mileage. I bought a (then new) 2010 Citroën C3 direct injected 1.4L turbo diesel. It's not fast or large, but it gets 62-70mpg which is great considering it's not Geo Metro slow and we drive a lot. My wife is a professional singer which keeps us traveling ~

Nice car bud, ive got the same car. 2000 firechicken ws6. Mine is red with gray interior. I'm keeping mine absolutely stock. Only thing different than original is the exhaust, I wanted just a bit more rumble than factory. Bought it new and it has 150k miles. Gonna be keeping her for my lifetime.
I just bought a really clean 2000 Ws6. When I saw the condition of the car, I thought I should try to keep it stock. But I'm already struggling! Help! lol

Car looks and sounds awesome. I have an 02 WS6. Building the motor and trans now. Always have been my favorite F body. Those lines and the ram air hood are so bad azz.
The WS6 is really king of the hill for F-Bodies. I think that's pretty unanimous... myself included although I may be biased lol.
i would get that top tensioner replaced, went through 2 on mine until i went katech billet lol love the car!

I've got the same wheels on my car, they look great, I like the subtlety of the black but you still have some bright shine thanks to the polished ring. My car is a '99 Trans Am bright metallic purple I call it the "grape ape"
Haha that's awesome. The grape ape. I agree with you on the finish the wheels are done in. I think the chrome lip really pops them off. I'm trying to figure out what color I want to do the calipers.
@@Greenlightfilming I've actually got decals on either side of the back glass that say "grape ape" and and above that is one of the grape ape cartoon character from the 1970's. really love the way your's sounds!
She is definitely a beast, that what my seven year old son calls my 2012 Dodge Challenger RT Hemi !!! It rumbles big time and extremely loud when I get on it, I had the resonators deleted with straight pipes and Racing Flow Master 10’s at the pipe tips along with an air intake and a big cam !!! 👍👍👍

my 98 trans-am has a 2000 corvette motor that has the 243 heads on it ? I knew someone who got me a pulled off of the line that had a miner defeat in a bolt hole but was no problem for firebird or camero

got the same car 2002ws6 same color but black interior corvette rims c6 style no upgrades 34000 miles rear end squirley was looking at your upgrades body flexes a lot good luck if you owned one before you know about lifter problems and a long list of service repairs

34,000 miles?! Damn! Back in '05 when I bought my '01 ws6 it had 45,000 miles on it, and the only '02 ws6 I found had 55,000! I now have 170,000 miles on mine, so 34,000,...? Drive that poor thing!

To me, putting a cam in a Corvette is like putting A1 steak sauce on a really good quality New York strip or fillet mignon. Or maybe even like putting ketchup on a good steak.
Man, you do make a good point. Possibly unpopular but I totally get it. A giant cam isn't really as usable as something that makes power more broadly like a more factory type cam. Most people don't run their cars like a race car on a race track, so you don't get the most of the engine 99% of the time.
Is there any site you or someone watching this video that can direct me to instructions on the best way to change my power antenna to a fixed antenna.

@@Greenlightfilming I've miss out twice on the same 2000 Navy blue metalic WS6, M6, 33k miles with no mods. First time was 9k he sold it to the dealer and guy just bought it the day before I was going do to get it, Sat.

Just out of curiosity was there a reason you decided to run the stock uppers? I have a 97 Comp T/A and have been planning on going with the BMR kit for a couple of years now. I'm going to pick up a set of their uppers as well. Mainly because I want to keep everything uniform even though people will rarely see these suspension components. Nice vid by the way, enjoyed it thoroughly
Sorry, I'm a little confused. Are you referencing the upper control arms? The front upper and lower control arms are factory on the car. The rear lower control arms are tubular. There are no upper control arms like a "4 link" setup like G-Bodys or Mustangs. Thanks for checking out the video!! Glad you enjoyed it.

It's very common to have stripped gears in the headlight motors if your problem isn't electrical.

The 243 heads were only on the LS6 engines and on the GTO’s not on the 01-02 trans am and camaro, the 01-02 Fbodys had the 241 heads

That's correct, yes. I actually just installed some new ones on the car in the latest upload. The red UMI parts that were on it were dual rod end parts.

How safe are cams i want to mod my but also it pulls pretty nice as it sits and it start evrytime which i love but i also love the chop
They are plenty safe. Having a high lift cam might be harder on valve train in the long run compared to a factory sized grind, but many people drive them daily with no real issue.

@@rodriguezandres54 that's not totally out of line considering all of the other parts you need to replace and change when you install a camshaft into your car. Especially the labor to do it. That's not a bad price.

Not that I am aware of. They do have a darty steering feel, that's for sure.
@@Greenlightfilming yeah they do lol kinda dangerous at highway speeds. I had 275s on all 4 corners and went with 255s up front and 285s out back. It helped but still have a little sway
@@251suzuki i know what you mean about them being sketchy on the highway. The problem is called "tramlining" if you get caught in grooves in the road. Apparently F-Bodies are particularly notorious for this. Think I read about it on LS1Tech
@@251suzuki the reason for that are the tires the wider the tire in the front the more the car will track.

About 25% of 02 ws6's have the ls6 block there was a shortage of ls1 blocks
Btw fbodies never came with 243 heads. 98-02 only came with 853 and 241 heads.

Ive tried to argue this before even when i showed em my bone stock ls1 all it has is long tube headers and 200k but it does have a factory set of 243s
My 98 t/a ls2 418 4.1 stroker runs 10's @ 122 mph and my 08 Vette ls3 a6 runs 11's @ 121mph with bolt on's. The Vette is miles better for handling and stability and 300 lbs lighter.
The Vette is so much faster roll racing.
The vette is a far superior car in many ways. I agree 100%. Hard to hang with one in an fbody, especially when they are equally modified.

I go over the cylinder heads at 09:05 in this video actually haha. They are stock GM 853 cylinder heads with the Brian Tooley Racing Valvetrain kit to match the BTR Stage 4 Cam that's in the car.
98s have 806 heads

No doubt. The C6 felt a LOT faster than the WS6 with all of the mods it had. They are quick cars.
It's... not hard to make a TransAm faster than a base model C6 Corvette. rofl. You don't need heads and cam or anything. You will walk a base model C6 with just full exhaust / intake manifold / throttle body / lid / tune. (And maybe a more aggressive rear gear.) The base model only had the LS2, it wasn't that big of a step up from the LS1. What would be impressive is beating a Z06 or ZR1 C6 THAT would require a serious drag car built TransAm (boosted, nitrous, gigantic cam etc.)
To be honest Chevrolet stole the Corvette concept from Pontiac. When Pontiac confronted General Motors they basically shrugged it off and told Pontiac to go and perfect it and they came up with the Firebird. I own a Impala SS and a Trans Am WS6 and can't stand when Chevy guys downplay the true creator of the Corvette as if the T/A plays 2nd fiddle when all Chevy did was throw a bowtie on the Firebird and call it a Camaro....
Pontiac is the father of muscle cars regardless! So think about the GTO before you even reply! WE STARTED THIS MUSCLE CAR SHIT!!
Pontiac has a solid place in the history books with muscle cars, that's for sure!
