A bedford AFS wagon? My father joined the AFS part-time before he went into the RAF but having lived right through the 1950s I do not recall them or their vehicles at all. The Civil Defence, yes.
I’ve just done a quick google and indeed the AFS did have Bedford trucks including the Bedford “green goddess” fire trucks. Please consider subscribing as I will be going to beamish fairly often.
