I am far away from even attempting this,but love your style. I have loved art my whole life and just got back into in this year. I love your work so much and love how you put it,saying drawing realistic faces is jusy too frustrating. I heard that and finally understood why I am drawn to the more whimsical faces. A Lightbulb just went off💡🎨💞👩🎨 now I will keep trying and learning more! Thanks for your work and lessons.

Yes Teresa, it is trace at the beginning. The silver pencils I have seen at OfficeMax! I get mine at Amazon 😊 There's a link in the description box above to my Amazon products I use and love. The Pentel pencils are in there!

She's so cute! Do you pre-wet the pan watercolors before you start painting? Mist them with water or use something like an eye udropper to put a few drops of water on each pan. The paint will be moister and easier to work with. Thanks for sharing your whole process. I have definitely had days like that, but there's always something to be learned. Merry Christmas! XO

Haven't done a real project at home, with colours and loads of materials, but did see the video and drew along in a small scale with just a mechanical pencil (I was at work, so I went clandestine mode :). I have recently become very interested in art. I became disabled and could no longer work so I needed something to do. I fell in love with a few TH-cam channels and yours was one that inspired me and even though I've never drawn anything but stick figures, I really want to learn as much as I can. I am now in my late 40s. Do you think it is still possible to learn at my age? Anyway, really loving your channel and I look forward to seeing more. :)

I love your teaching style. This was my third drawing to attempt. The only big struggle I had was with the lips. I could not get them to stop looking like beaks. LOL Any suggestions?
I tend to struggle with highlights & shadows, I usually go darker or lighter but I see many use other colors & I love how it appears. I've always struggled with contouring when it comes to makeup to, lol.

Yes!! I do a million ovals and they all look crazy. BUT - that's how you build muscle memory so that's okay! Eventually (after 50 or so) they start looking more the same! YOU GOT THIS!

I LOVE your art books. Very easy to understand, I have EVERY one of your books. Can’t wait to see my progress as I love doing portraits. Not too good drawing so this is an excellent challenge. I brought my books to Clayton, NC where my daughter lives to draw but as I am on the road a terrible cold or flu was emerging. My daughter has pampered me but not feeling well enough to pursue it this week. I did not find it about the challenge until week 3 or 4 so I got a lot of catchup to do. Or should I skip to the current weeks challenge and then go back.
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well!!!! You do whatever works for you! You could even do just one with me each week, instead of doing 5. That way you have a taste of everything while also getting all caught up! Tomorrow there is no tutorial, just a giveaway!!! I LOVE your art books. Very easy to understand, I have EVERY one of your books. Can’t wait to see my progress as I love doing portraits. Not too good drawing so this is an excellent challenge. I brought my books to Clayton, NC where my daughter lives to draw but as I am on the road a terrible cold or flu was emerging. My daughter has pampered me but not feeling well enough to pursue it this week. I did not find it about the challenge until week 3 or 4 so I got a lot of catchup to do. Or should I skip to the current weeks challenge and then go back.
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well!!!! You do whatever works for you! You could even do just one with me each week, instead of doing 5. That way you have a taste of everything while also getting all caught up! Tomorrow there is no tutorial, just a giveaway!!!
