In the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, most aerial operations were conducted in the West. But the Eastern Front saw some amazing airstrikes and dogfights too. This video is covering that story, including what Indian sources call 'The greatest aerial battle of all Indo-Pakistani Wars'.

What is interesting to note is in the early Indo Pak wars both on the ground and in the air it was mostly British machines vs American. Compared to a lot of stories in other wars US or Western aircraft vs Soviet, Russian aircraft.

Debatable. I lived through it. On the ground and in the air, India with all its initial advantages (size, manpower, resources, the element of surprise, etc.) did not perform well. There were some successes and failures on both sides. Both claimed massive victories at the end.

They are obscure because Western media thinks that only Western stories are worth telling and that Israeli pilots are the Gods of flight. More low level air combat and dogfights took place during the 1965 and 1971 conflicts between India and Pakistan than anywhere else as these were extremely short (weeks long) conflicts. Yet, an unusually large number of combatants were killed on both sides on the ground in these wars. As the U.S. military attaché to Pakistan during the 1971 war, Chuck Yeager attests to this fact in his book. The Israelis were quite surprised when they faced Pakistani pilots. They were used to shooting down inexperienced and poorly trained Arab pilots.

Exactly, no PAF plane was hit in that mission except F/O Afzal. @@AsifKhan-zx1uy not everything has to cater to chest beating over-excited Paki teenagers, discussions outside your country don't have to align with the continuous decades old ISI/ISPR psyops operation for domestic consumption. The written off Sabre due to 'surely believable' lack of parts was the second jet. And maybe, advise the same to Mr Alam as well, who made 5 jets out of the wreck of 2, so embarrassing that his colleague had to expose him out of courtesy later.
There's a reason India doesn't have anything like ISPR, this is where the incentive for PAF or other branches comes from. The need to provide a perpetual mass mental psychosis of 'Indian threat', and the need to feed the people the sense of military superiority over India, at any cost, and so we see many of their stories or rather 'wishful thinking' even putting Bollywood to shame.
And that's why the joke runs around the world, that other countries have armies, but in Pakistan army has a country. And so they do anything to maintain that control. They will make you believe someday that we fought and defeated aliens, we can't show you because everything decided to hop over to Indian side, but we wiped the floor with them, we are 'professional'.

Plus, even an old high-fidelity module will set you back 25 bucks when on sale. That is outside of the budget for a lot of people. Not to mention that learning the proper starting procedures and such is not for everyone. That's where WT jumps in.
