I’ve been shooting film for years and I still have, love and regularly use my Mamiya 645 1000s. That 80mm 2.8 “kit” lens is as brilliant as any lens on that camera IMO. Great job pointing out the waist level finder limiting use to landscape oriented photos!🙏🏼
So exited. Getting my own 645 1000 next week. I have a two week trip coming right after it and i have a project i want to create with it. This was by far the simplest and best "to the point" instruction video so far. 👍 & Sub. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind explaining~ I bought one yesterday. I am going to try to take a picture with this. I want to study the art of photography perfectly with Mamiya M645 1000s. Thumbs up for you. Thank you. Again
@@dennyrulos7370 sure but aren't you glad there's not b roll of someone pulling the camera out of a drawer, inspecting their film, brewing a cup of coffee, grabbing their keys, walking out the door, getting in the car, driving somewhere, getting out of the car, murdering someone, getting out the camera, and sitting at a park bench to talk about it?
The back is not interchangeable on the M645 1000S. You can’t use the rb67 lenses with the m645. This link has a lot of info: reddit.com/r/Mamiya/s/M5WxnKmbnN
I also noticed that when there is no film in the camera, the advance crank lever and the shutter buttons do not work. Also, no big deal, as the do work with film is in the camera, but still makes wonder.
I love waist level viewfinders in 6x6 cameras (I own a Hasselblad 501CM and Rolleiflex 3.5E). I see no real pupose for thos finders in non-square cameras.
@@threeminutepro Sorry for the missunderstanding, butI did not say I see no pupose in 645 cameras or that I see no purpose in the Mamiya 645 specifically. I tried using the prism to set the shutter speed, but when I put the actual shutter speed dial on the red dot, and took a photo, it seemed as if the mirror was locked up. I could not advance the film.

Just bought a Mamiya 645 1000s and found this really helpful. Best of all I can keep coming back to it. Regards Paul.
You’re welcome. Thank you 😀

I love the waist level finder, though! Happy to shoot landscape portraits with it. 😀

Thanks for the video! I've been looking for a simple and short demonstration on how it works
You’re very welcome! 😀
I’ve had a 645 for years now, had no idea about the leaf shutter lens, picked one up yesterday! Super stoked for a new old lens 😂
Happy New Lens!
Yes, it’s an amazing piece of kit.
Perfect! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. 👍
Thank you 😀
I might buy a 645. Got a feeling I am going to love the result.
It’s a fantastic camera. You won’t be disappointed 😀
For the love of god a video that's not 20 minutes long
Yeah, I get bored with watching B roll scenes when I just need information. Glad you like it.
You want to use a complicated camera, the videos will probably be complicated.

I loved the process of these cameras. Sold mine many years ago😪
They’re quite affordable now if you want to go back to it.
I was looking for a video just like this! Thanks a lot!!
You’re welcome!
A video on how to clean the camera focusing screen, mirror and sensor please. Just broke mine out after 25 years and it needs a little cleaning.
That would be useful!
Hi great video thanks! I was wondering where you got that amazing strap from?
Here you go: amzn.eu/d/5iHMhpq
Great video - super helpful! Also - where did you buy the strap lugs from? I have the m645 and cant seem to find any
Came with the camera. Have you tried ebay? 😀
On the prism viewfinder you can adjust the ISO. But how do you do that when using the waistlevel viewfinder?
There’s no metering on the waist level viewfinder, so no need for ISO settings 😀
It was so useful, man! Thanks sm!
Thank you :-)
Hi do any of the rb67 lenses work with this camera ?and can it use a digital back?thanks

You can make it work by selecting multiple exposure

It limits you to horizontal format, but you get more photos on each film

Can anyone recommend an electronic flash to be used? One thats pretty bright
I use cheap Yongnuo flashes with a trigger. You’ll need a sync socket to hot shoe adaptor if you have the waist level finder.

I’m not sure. I’ve never had this. Could it be a battery issue?

Can you change the viewfinder with film loaded?
Absolutely! I’m always switching them over 😀
1:08 i cant get this to work
Very fiddly, I admit.
Turn.
Then push in.

Thank you!!
