    RIP Dean Martin (June 7, 1917 - December 25, 1995), aged 78
    And
    RIP Marty Feldman (July 8, 1934 - December 2, 1982), aged 48
    You both will always be remembered as legends.

    • @Ed_H.

      48 is way too young to be goin around dying all over the place. The poor sh-t. Apparently he smoked like a chimney, drank like a fish, and ate like a pig.
      He had a short life, but he enjoyed it.

    For those of a certain age, "Marty Feldman's Comedy Machine" was
    essential viewing in the very early 1970s.
    It hasn't been shown for nearly fifty years on any TV networks to my knowledge, but it was up there with Monty Python.
    Gone, not forgotten. Marty left far too soon.

      I remember 'Marty Feldman's Comedy Machine.' I watched every episode but felt it was not as good as his earlier shows for the BBC. I think some sketches were rehashes of earlier Marty BBC sketches. There was also an attempt to copy some ideas from Python e.g. animations. But celebrities featured in many episodes. I remember Roger Moore and Groucho Marx appeared in different episodes.

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been rewatching it. Surprising to see Barbara Feldon turn up in a couple of shows (after the end of _Get Smart_ ). Also Art Carney and Orson Welles. And regular guest Spike Milligan providing his own brand of complete lunacy.
      The cut-up animations were done by Terry Gilliam, who was responsible for the exact same thing in _Monty Python_ .
      Also so far I’ve spotted 3 or 4 skits that were copied from the earlier _At Last, The 1948 Show_ , which also had Marty in it.

My engineer and I hit a pub that had a reputation for fantastic steaks. I ordered mine blue, ultra rare. I’m loving the steak and half way thru it my colleague asks “how’s that mad cow disease?”. Mad cow disease was very new and only thing we knew is it came from cows obviously. First half was incredible, last half I couldn’t eat.
