Very good explanation of the types of trailers. My wife often asks me about what we are going to do when we are too old to travel. I initially told her that I'll trade in for a newer model. She said that didn't solve the problem. I told her I would make sure that the newer model could also drive and set up the trailer for me and I'd be fine. She didn't appreciate that. But I could very easily imagine this might be a good option for folks who just want to stay in the same place all year. Great video and a good look at what a destination model really is.
    Thanks,
    Pat

6 luv wheels on that monster with 6k axles??? Good old Forest River/Buffet saving a buck cutting corners. I didn’t hear you mention it but on a rig that size no matter how little or much you tow it the rig demands 7k axles with 8lug wheels. On your end great vid as always.👍👍👍

Last fall was ready to buy a destination unit for my property upstate new york. After traveling the country looking at various models I was disappointed to find that they were so poorly made. I'm assuming it was because they weren't really designed to travel. I wound up buying a fifth wheel instead. My opinion and experience.

Was a little surprised to find 2019 King Ranch F250 diesel on the lot had cargo capacity of just 2050 lbs, when my 2016 F150 King Ranch has 1490 lbs. Will be upgrading Airstream travel trailer from 22 foot to 33 foot with 1200 lbs tongue weight and 10,000 lbs GVWR. We plan to full time and will probably get a shell and store heavier things in the truck bed. Do I really need to go to F350 to get comfortable cargo capacity in a King Ranch diesel? Seems overkill but by the numbers maybe not.

They need to design a long deep slide the length of the trailer with roof panel's you bolt down to cover the slide out roof. Sort of like a double wide for a unique destination trailer. These trailer's are dedigned to be hauled from site to site for long period's of stay correct? So why not design one that is really a double wide that has it's other half slide out and just have roof segment's you place over the slide out? A trailer company tow's these and set's them up from site to site so why not have the set team just have a new slide out double wide they can set up with a push of a button and have push in mount's that pop out at the end's of each slide out that create a flush mount after the slide out is retracted at the end's of the slide out for a great weather seal and to make the trailer look like a regular double wide? Then have the roof segment's that hook in at the top and bolt down at the edge's on the slide out? 😊

Did I hear you right. Over a 13000 pound GVWR but only rides on twin 6000 pound axles. How is that even legal to be grossed that high when the axles can't handle the weight. They seem to be using all of the 10 percent hitch weight and then some

@@FMC1239 Tongue weight of these trailers are about 1.5x to 2x the weight of a travel trailer. They weigh 14,000lbs empty weight. Also the fuel economy. My god will these things suck a tank dry in half the time due to being much taller and sitting higher than a normal trailer. They are nicer than a travel trailer, but they are for the person that moves once every 8 months or so. Those refrigerstors are not designed to be moved all that often or far as itll destroy the system from the bouncing.. These trailers are pigs to everything though as stated they are really nice.
