your commentary is a HOOT!!! I came to these videos actually not for the girls but for your commentary alone! "my husband owns LVMH, i shop at the stores when im bored" LMAOOOO!!!
Every time I see this footage, it makes me chuckle. It's the madness at the side entrance for me. Everything is so chic, until the exits and entrances from the paper cut out? Hilarious. Love this collection. So many beautiful pieces. So many stunning models. That moment of Naomi and Yasmeen is nothing short of ICONIC!!
It’s definitely the madness for me 😂🤣😂 like what on earth was all going on?!? 😂 so funny. I love this collection. Naomi and Yasmeen are GOATs for sure!! 🙌🏾💯🔥

Malcolm, I"m a new viewer to your channel, your commentary made my freakiing day yesterday, spent the whole night watching more of your vids. I love the flashback shows with your witty comments, you crack me up!!! I'm from Montreal, and my best friend used to work with Yasmeen at McDonalds back in the 80's. Yes, I'm old lol
Awwwwww omg! You are not old, you’re seasoned! Lol this comment just made MY freaking day!!! Seriously needed to hear it! I’m so glad you had fun watching 😊 and wow!!!! That’s such a cool and fun fact about Yasmeen.
@@Ric419 oooooooh I’m a huge fan of Giancranfo Ferre’s work, will definitely add that to my list! I have Claude down already so I’ll be moving that up now 🙌🏾💯 thank you!
Awwwww I’m so glad you had fun and got a laugh!!! I’m sincerely just ridiculous by nature 😂😂😂😂 stand up?!? Really?!? Wow, what a compliment. Never heard that before! Thank you so much 😊 and ugh!!! That butterfly cat suit was EVERYTHINGGGG 🙌🏾💯💖
Oh! What theatrical introduction is this? What the Judy Garland is going on? What…huh! No, cause this is the most-uh... Oh…oh my God! What character are you playing? What story are you telling? Ease on down the road, Liza Minelli…Oh! She is feeling her own fantasy. Yeah, she controls her own destiny. Okay…okay girl. I’m here for it. Yeah, I’m sparkly but I’m comfy, I’m cozy but I’m classy, I’m quirky but I’m fabulous.
Ugh I should have gathered all my thoughts into one listed comment like usual but I'm cooking dinner for Grandma. The big collars are GIVING Elizabeth I. That is an obvious historical fashion reference to me. Taking up space using fashion as a way to command power and set boundaries. "Don't get too close to me, fellas." Absolutely genius.
Hello, now you're talking about 1 of my favorites (who I met,1 week, then the next Gaultier). Alaia was original trained to be a sculpture, and it is evident in his work. He is a master tailor. He draped his garments and was precise in everything he designed. This show and the ones prior to this will show Alaia was actually the designer, not Versace, who created the supermodels strut on the catwalk. The models , and I mean all the models who were hot, did his shows , sometimes for free. A lot of them were paid in clothes, which kind of says a lot about his designs, and models who have the opportunity to wear everything from other designers, to covet his creations. There are 2 great books on Alaia that I recommend, Alaia, Afore, Alaia, and Azzedine Alaia/Arthur Elgort/Freedom.
Wow!!!! Thank you for sharing this! I read that a lot of models would cancel other shows to walk for him, and yes he was the real inventor of the supermodel before Gianni! Incredible.
I forgot, at one point he also delved into menswear! Damn I wish I could have, but I do own an Alaia cape, with a hood, that wraps completely around the body! Amazing article of clothing.
Oooooooh excellent question! Huuuuge fan of Linda Evangelista and Karen Mulder is iconic. I’m biased towards Yasmeen and Naomi always. But I’m going to react to Linda and Karen highlights soon, so maybe I’ll change my tune (doubt it though 😂).
Nice to see those images of supermodels from the 90s, many were already active in the 80s but they became a phenomenon in the 90s "the big five" were Campbell (United Kingdom) Turlington (USA) Crawford (usa) Schiffer (Germany) Evangelista (Canada)
Thank you so much! Hmmmm, you know whose walk I actually really like? Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber. I’m going to do some more current shows to get familiar with more current names though lol the 90s have me in a chokehold
No one can doubt Naomi's talent as a model. But while she has behaved more than pitifully on countless occasions, Yasmeen has always behaved like a true lady. The entire industry always praised her extraordinary seriousness and professionalism. She never made a fuss, never insulted or mistreated anyone and never behaved like a diva, as Naomi did on so, so many occasions. So I'll stick with Yasmeen...
Naomi definitely developed a reputation. Since Yasmeen retired much earlier, I will say that’s it been nice seeing Naomi remain in the spotlight and evolve her professional image far away from those chaotic episodes from many years ago. She’s certainly not perfect, but she’s actually made great strides in rehabilitating that negative perception of her in the workplace. But Yasmeen was always a class act and deserves the admiration for it for sure!
My comments will be all over so forgive me. Leopard print love ❤️ We have Naomi Yasmeen Christy Nadege Claudia Beverly all making Papa proud! And Christy kicking the purse like a soccer ball? 😂 Also thank you Malcom for pointing out those hideous clunky shoes that McQueen interpreted and made into literally horse hooves 🐎
@@MalcolmSoaries During the early 90s, you can catch a glimpse of models like Linda, Yasmeen Ghauri, Naomi, Marpessa, Christy, Gail Elliott, Stephanie Seymour etc all wearing Alaia off-duty looks.
I have Anna on my list with 3 stars next to her name! People request a video on her a lot!! I’m definitely going to circle back. But I’m a Naomi loyalist so I’ll always throw her in there too!
Naomi wouldn't mind..when you watch all runways with Anna and Naomi in one show, anna ate them all alive and left no crumbs. Short hair girl is Nadege Dupertis who was once one of the top 7 highest paid walker despite not categorized as one of the top 10. She is from France.
