Couldn't agree more! She nailed every single character she's played. And her performance in the boy in the striped pyjamas and in Bates Motel are absolutely breathtaking!
Maybe she didn’t make the list because of her Oscar nom for Up in the Air (amazing) and several award noms for Bates Motel? Though I’d rate her more underrated than Emily Blunt.
+Ninaofthe90s Definitely. Forgot to add that one in my comment. Sometimes I watch a movie just because she's in it. If you haven't seen Japanese Story, she's great.
Eva Green is honestly so underrated. She can really show off great range with all of her roles. She was fantastic as a Bond Girl in Casino Royale, the bitchy witch in Dark Shadows, a strong warrior in 300: Rise of an Empire, and on Penny Dreadful as Vanessa Ives.
Vera Farmiga, Rosemund Pike, Ellen Burstyn, Eva Marie Saint, Sarah Paulson, Lee Remick, Jessica Lange and Eva Green are a few that come to mind (no specific order).
she's actually such an amazing actress. Very rare & enigmatic and doesn't give a shit about doing pretty stuff. Just pure passion for acting. And she's just so underrated... ugh! *****
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Vera Farmiga should definitely be on this list. Also, Olivia Colman is the most underrated actress that we have, and definitely one of the best. She works mostly on television in the UK but has done a few successful films too, and her performances are always stellar as anyone who's seen the film 'Tyrannosaur' will know.
What the hell you on about? She won 3 BAFTAs, 2 in the same year. She getting a lot of prise(?) for The Night Manager, Broadchurch got her a bucket load of rewards too. She even got a best supporting from BIFA for The Lobster what's utterly shite.
Simone Rose she's not known outside of the uk, all the successes you're listing are british and, like i was saying, mostly for telivision. she's underrated in the sense that people don't know her name.
+Simone Rose I think what they're trying to say is that Olivia Coleman is very underrated on a global level of recognition. Loved her in 'Tyrannasaur' too, should have recieved an Oscar for that... and it's directed by an equally underrated actor, Paddy Considine.
Eva Green. She is extremely talented, stunningly beautiful and raw. Absolutely love her in penny dreadful...her acting in that series is so amazing that it literally scares me.
Why... Emily Watson is an amazing actress. Was fantastic in Breaking the Waves, Hilary and Jackie, Equilibrium, War Horse, Trixie, Red Dragon, The Boxer, Oranges and Sunshine and Apprpriate Adult, all sublime preformances. You may be thinking of Emma Watson (from the Himani from the 'Harry Potter' movies and 'Perks of Being a Wallflower')... Emily is a completely different actress.
Emily Blunt is one of my favourite actress. I also agree with Rachel McAdams and Minnie Driver. I think Lake Bell and Clare Danes are also really underrated.
Speaking of Katey Sagal, I think Ed O'Neill has been underrated as a comedic actor. I haven't seen his current show, but as Al Bundy, he did everything possible with his voice, face, and body to sell that character.
ellen page and michelle monaghan, yes, ellen did great in inception and the xmen movies, and michelle did great in mission impossible and source code :)
She should have been on this list simply for the comedic value of hearing this woman attempt to pronounce her name (narrator can't pronounce anything right lol)
How are Rachel McAdams and Emily Blunt underrated? Because they haven't won a lot of awards? I mean these women take starring roles in Hollywood blockbusters left and right. I picture someone "underrated" as being someone who doesn't get the limelight they deserve for their talent. Those women definitely do.
Probably because they haven’t won any Oscars for “Best Leading Actress” or “Best Supporting Actress” at Athens Oscars/Academy Awards. Also, they don’t get a lot of limelight. Most of the time when you ask people their favorite actress, they probably won’t say those two(but I love them).

I don't think she's underrated. She was a celebrated A-List celebrity around the time of Requiem, Beautiful Mind, House of Sand/Fog. She won the Oscar for best supporting actress for Beautiful Mind... and deservedly so, she is an amazing actress. That said, I'm not sure why you would consider her underrated.
EZ Does It but with her reputation, I dont see her much in movies recently. Her most recent work that made it big was Noah, but I hope I see her in more films. She needs to take Jennifer Garner's place. Idk why she's still around.
A.R. BEATZ yeah, couldn't agree more... it would be great to see her in more movies. It seems like she does about 1 project per year now since 2005. But Jennifer Garner is still around? I didn't even realize she was on the radar these days.... she def needs to go.
Rachel McAdams, definitely. They shot The Notebook and Mean Girls on the same year. SAME YEAR. And you won't see any similarities between two of her characters! Brilliant!
Nope they arent , jennifer lawrence is a very veeery talented actress but since everybody started to love her its only trendy that people start hating on her just like you and saying shes not talented just because she is very famous .
Blendi Pajaziti I don't hate Jennifer Lawrence and I'm not trying to say that she doesn't deserve the fame. Rosaline Fields oh no i am not offended , i understand but i see people bringing her down just because she's famous , they do that to everybody i just dont get it , and i thought you were doing the same , i respect your opinion , i like emma stone and rachel mcadams a lot bit jennifer is more talented ( in my opinion , watch winters bone) . Blendi Pajaziti Oh absolutely! :) I totally understand and respect your opinion. Thanks for respecting mine as well. And I get it; I see people being mean to a lot of celebrities and their fans for no apparent reason. I will check Winter's Bone out, thanks for recommending it. :)
Rosaline Fields people say its her best acting shes ever done and her first oscar nom came from that , its an indie movie and its a slow burn but its great .
i know a lot of people might disagree with this, but i strongly believe saoirse ronan should be on here. the first movie i saw her in was atonement where she was only 13 years old but she was absolutely amazing. since then, she just turned 20 and she's become a master of accents, performing lots of different ones flawlessly in her movies. she was terrific in the lovely bones and hanna, and she was jaw droppingly amazing in the host and how i live now. she also happens to be absolutely beautiful, and has an adorable irish accent. she's definitely a young talent who hasn't received nearly enough attention yet.
rugbyfan0025 No... Have you even seen the terrible reception it had from critics? Everyone of my friends that went to see also told me it was boring and poorly written.
Emily Blunt really won me over with the fantastic Edge Of Tomorrow. Any actress that is actually willing to buff up for an action role really gets mad props in my book.
Zoe Saldana underrated? You disproved that point immediately! Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy!!! What MORE could she do?!!
Although she plays in those movies, no one gives her enough credit for it as either they don't remember her in the film or the attention goes to her co-stars.
while I agree that she has been in many popular movies, she has been in ensemble casts where she is either just the main (or only) female character or love interests, that doesn't mean that the characters or performances are bad but most critics don't see those type of characters as the most important ones of the story
Underrated is a devious term. I agree that all these actress's are underrated, but some of them (Emily Blunt and Rachel McAdams especially) are pretty freaking famous. I think the MOST Underrated Actresses would be actress's that aren't recognized by name, or even by face, who are actually really great proven actress's. The Mara sisters both MORE underrated than Blunt and McAdams, because they are still barely known and recognized yet fantastic actress's. Many, many, many other actress's are also moreso underrated than already famous actress's.
Michelle Fairly also gave one of the best performances in t.v. history yet didn't even get an Emmy nomination. Can't get much more underrated for a performance, even if she hasn't done much else. Lena Headey is very underrated with a great range. Tilda Swinton. Eva Green. And did I say The Mara sisters? Seriously, I had them in my head as my top 2 before I learned they were sisters. They are captivating, and elevate the hell out of their characters. Kate and Rooney Mara man, freaking dynamite that very few know of, care about or appreciate.
@@MarianaAnselmo30 boy were you wrong. I would say at this point Kate has become more established then Rooney. Though i wouldn't feel bad for either of them. As there family is fucking loaded.
Most female actors put 8-10 years into their career before they get any kind of break - if they are lucky, they may then have a 2-3 year period of steady work in mainstream films, then they are quickly replaced with the "new flavor"… male actors can spread a career over decades, but female actors generally last as long as a man's interest in the same woman does.
Steve Forsyth Don't try to make this about sexism. Most actors and actresses of the last decade are forgotten except those who had good career choices. How about Scarlett J as black widow,Or Charlize Theron as furiousa in Mad Max?
Jimmy135 Airs - the average movie/TV show has three male characters for every female character. It's simple mathematics. Yes, it's a crummy turnover for men as well, but it is three times as bad for females.
Steve Forsyth Not really, Because most of them will all lose their fame after a while so why does it matter how many female and male characters there are in movies.
Jimmy135 Airs It matters because the odds are even less in their favor of finding fame/success in a role when they have 1/3 of the chances of even GETTING a role to begin with.
Steve Forsyth How's that unfair? There are more male actors than female actresses. And besides if womens' roles were less, wouldn't that mean that they will be more notable and remember-able?
Jack Basley YES I was looking for someone to comment her! She's not as underrated after her Emmy for People vs OJ. But I've loved her ever since Studio 60!
Kannard Johnson COD Gameplays Oh, I don't watch anime movies. She was also in, "Phantom of The Opera" and, "Beautiful Creatures' and she's in another movie with Hilary Swank(forgot the name of it)
+unfluster Well perhaps so. I guess they call them under Rated because since they aren't in block busters not every 1 knows them. Like they said these are the ones you go oh that chick. or hay I know her from somewhere, didn't she play so and so? That kind of thing.
Bendrix27 if you think she is overrated then you need to question your meaning of the word "overrated" plus she is not terrible ... she is very talented very good actress
i guess watchmojo's perception of "underrated" is anyone who's name isn't talked about over and over until you hear it so much you wanna shoot someone.
Zoe and Emily should not be on this list. It is especially funny to me that they mentioned. Emily staring next to big actors like JGL. Who even at the time of Loopers release. I would say she was more famous then him.
@@christinsmith550 dude you’re just hating to hate man, she’s in so many different genres, she was in the notebook (romantic drama), mean girls (comedy), red eye (great underrated thriller directed by the man who made nightmare on elms street west craven) dude I didn’t even know she was considered underrated, great actress you might not like her as a person but hands down a great actress so stfu
Watch Still Alice, Adventureland, Camp x-Ray and Clouds of Sils Maria before saying that Kristen Stewart is a bad actress. She is easily the most underrated actress of our generation simply because she gave a bad performance in one film and was forced to repeat that performance for the rest of the series. Have you seen Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending or Julianne Moore in Seventh Son? A person is capable of a bad performance without being a bad actor/ actress.
Khairunnisa Tuning Prayati Personally, I think that Kristen Stewart was directed to be boring and unemotional and that even if it was a different actress, it would have been a similar performance. So I think the first one
mimi arthur she got an Oscar only because standards have been way lowered. And Oscar lost its meaning pretty much. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy everyone's films, but some get undeserved attention, then it kinda loses meaning to me. Also, she's a bit arrogant, would you not agree?
Juno Temple, Emily Browning, Rooney Mara, Michelle Williams, Zoe Saldana, and Emily Blunt. THOSE are the kind of actresses that deserve the most attention.
No mention of Eva Green? She is probably one of the best actresses out there. Or Allison Janney, Angela Bassett, Ellen Burstyn, Emily Watson, Frances Mcdormand, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jessica Lange, & Toni Collette
I find Emily Watson to be a very underrated actress there, I agree. Hardly anyone knows who she is (or maybe because they mistake her for EMMA Watson, which really annoys me) yet she is a very capable, dedicated actress with a very good ear for accents and can emote very convincingly, just like she did in Lars Von Trier's 1996 movie Breaking The Waves (her performance in it has to be one of the most impressive debuts of any actor or actress in history).
Why? She ranks number 6 among "Highest-Grossing Actresses of All Time" and has been nominated for and won a whole lot of awards incuding the Oscars, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy.
underrated actress in English speaking countries: Tilda Swinton Toni Collette Katherine Keener Marcia Gay Harden Jennifer Jason Leigh Joan Cusack Laura Linney Eva Green Rosemund Pike Maggie Gyllenhaal Joan Allen Diane Lane Anjelica Huston Vera Farmiga Zoe Saldana Kristin Scott Thomas... etc. these're just few on top of my head, much much more😳
No, no, no. Toni Colette is the number one most underrated actress around. Hands down. She's so underrated that you didn't even consider her for your list.
+Patrick Blake She deserved it, so phenomenal as Sacha Pfeiffer in Spotlight!! I want her to win that Best Supporting Actress instead of Alicia Vikander!!
+Patrick Blake And the most ironic thing is that they in the video say "McAdams has yet to truly receive the full shine of the spotlight" and a year later she gets nominated for a film called "spotlight"
I don't fuckin ' care about anything, I Just know that Rachel McAdams continues to SLAY me with her effortless Canadian charm and her ageless beauty, just PERFECT!!
***** I'm actually not that attracted to the last four. I genuinely think they are underrated, maybe non of them has done any award-worthy preformances (just Carey Mulligan), but they've certainly done good work that by this time should have lead them to better acting gigs.
Zoe Saldana is an A list celebrity and an amazing actress with a BUNCH of roles. How is she even on this list? I realize this top 10 came out in 2014, but by that time she had been in the following GOOD movies or acted with GOOD actors: Drumline - 2002 Pirates 2 - 2003 The Terminal - 2004 Vantage Point - 2008 Star Trek - 2009 Avatar - 2009 Death at a Funeral - 2010 The Losers - 2010 Takers - 2010 Colombiana - -2010 Star Trek 2 - 2013 Out of the Furnace - 2013 Guardians of the Galaxy - 2014 She isn't underrated at ALL.
Well, I am not sure Farrow in Rosemary's baby can match the ultimate performance of Zoe Saldana in Star Trek.... I am kidding of course, I agree with you...
I think Elizabeth Banks should also be on this list. She gets a lot of commedy roles but when I watched "The Next 3 Days" she was really good in it. Ithink she's a lot more versatile than people think.
Zoe Saldana, Rachael McAdams, and Emily Blunt are not underrated... they are all among the top 10 working actresses at the moment. Sure none of them are getting Oscar noms, but that's more because of the roles they are choosing, or the lack of leading dramatic roles for 20-35 year old females. I agree with the rest of the list, and I know the entire thing can't be woman over 35. For younger faire, should have had Evan Rachel Wood on the list proper, along with Lizzy Caplan and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Not sure I'd call Charlize Theron underrated... unless you mean, she's so awesome that even the recognition she has is still not enough, then yes I would agree to that. I'm pretty sure she's on one of WM top 10 actresses lists too, so it doesn't make a lot of sense that she'd be on this one.
whisper012 I guess so. I was thinking more in the lines of unrecognized actresses. That when I mention her name, a lot of people don't know who I mean.
Emily blunt I agree, but Blake lively isn’t taken as seriously as she should. She is a really good actress and most people can’t see her for anymore then just Serena Van Der Woodsen in gossip girl
Judy Davis, Jennifer Connelly, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, Toni Collette, Eva Green, Evan Rachel Wood, Rosamund Pike, Sarah Paulson, Thandie Newton, Samantha Morton are among the most underrated actresses:(
I love Jessica Chastain but I think Hollywood is on to her. It's only a matter of time before she wins an Oscar. She's incredible in everything she does.
yeah essentially 6 years ago she was an unknown then boom 2011 she has four movies( the help, tree of life, Coriolanus, take shelter) released which were her break though and now her career exploded which impressive for somebody her age, and now hollywood is treating her as if she was a well known actress for decades with all these high profile roles even tough she wasn't known till 2011

A lot of great actresses here but half of them I would not call underrated. Here's a few I think truly are: Brie Larson (probably not for long after Room) Olivia Munn (watch The Newsroom) Christina Ricci should be much higher on the list Laura Linney Sophia Myles
She was brilliant in that movie. And the movie itself was fantastic. It's so great to see a thriller that doesn't give in to cliche and let's the story play out very naturally. That kid was great in it, too. He's going to be a super star.
Yeah, I think she's on this list because whilst the public realise she's a fantastic actress due to her roles in blockbusters, the critics seem to push her to the side because of her lack of roles in more, shall we say, Oscar-Baiting movies. Even Avatar didn't get her the praise she deserved. Her performance is one of the greatest in motion-capture history, but because the academy don't believe motion-capture classes as a performance but instead as an elaborate special effect, they refused to nominate her. Seriously!!!
Vera Farmiga is so underrated she doesn't even make the underrated actresses list.
George Stephenson I agree, same with her sister
taissa played violet harmon in season 1 of american horror story
Couldn't agree more! She nailed every single character she's played. And her performance in the boy in the striped pyjamas and in Bates Motel are absolutely breathtaking!

+Ninaofthe90s Agreed. She's one of my favorite actresses.
+Ninaofthe90s Agreed, an Australian woman who is VERY underrated but great at everything she is in.
I like 300 But IMO Avatar was way better
Emmy Rossum is underrated. Her perfomance in the series Shameless is incredible. Very real.
Vera Farmiga, Rosemund Pike, Ellen Burstyn, Eva Marie Saint, Sarah Paulson, Lee Remick, Jessica Lange and Eva Green are a few that come to mind (no specific order).
+Joey Woodburn You had me at Vera Farmiga.
+Joey Woodburn Sarah Paulson
Jessica Lange isn’t even underrated she won a couple of emmys and im sure oscars too
Yeah I would hardly call Jessica Lange and Ellen Burstyn underrated.
Eva Green. Brilliant actress. Very underrated.
Bea Perry I agree!
she's actually such an amazing actress. Very rare & enigmatic and doesn't give a shit about doing pretty stuff. Just pure passion for acting. And she's just so underrated... ugh! *****

she was awesome as a villain in Dark Shadows
Love her on Penny Dreadful. Such a brilliant performance.

She works mostly on television in the UK but has done a few successful films too, and her performances are always stellar as anyone who's seen the film 'Tyrannosaur' will know.

I don't think Emily Blunt and Diane Kruger are that underrated, they are pretty well-known names

Yes but that doesn't mean they get the jobs they deserve.
These actresses are called underrated because their performances isnt credited as they need to be. Not because their names are aren't everywhere.
Emily Blunt is one of my favourite actress. I also agree with Rachel McAdams and Minnie Driver. I think Lake Bell and Clare Danes are also really underrated.
Clare Danes has a problem keeping her face still during a scene.
Onmysheet Hm, no she doesn't, her characters do.

Right, all of her characters have the exact same facial tick, sure bro. You're an idiot.
Bendrix27 Yepperoni.
Georgia Griffiths Claire Danes is a shitty actress.
Angela Bassett...she was robbed of the Oscar for her portrayal of Tina Turner!
yeah expressing so much emotions for a mute was pretty impressive
agreed i felt she was definitely robbed of the oscar and well underrated
Angela Bassett is definitely underrated. It is kind of sad.
"Robbed" 😒
i liked her in AHS hotel as ramona royale
Ellen Page , Katey Sagal , Vera Farmiga , Claire Danes , Eva Green , Carey Mulligan , Michelle Monaghan.
Are you just naming your favorite actresses?
i agree on Vera, Carey, and Ellen
No , i don't really have favorite actresses but but i really do think that they're underrated.
Speaking of Katey Sagal, I think Ed O'Neill has been underrated as a comedic actor. I haven't seen his current show, but as Al Bundy, he did everything possible with his voice, face, and body to sell that character.

i know a lot of people might disagree with this, but i strongly believe saoirse ronan should be on here. the first movie i saw her in was atonement where she was only 13 years old but she was absolutely amazing. since then, she just turned 20 and she's become a master of accents, performing lots of different ones flawlessly in her movies. she was terrific in the lovely bones and hanna, and she was jaw droppingly amazing in the host and how i live now. she also happens to be absolutely beautiful, and has an adorable irish accent. she's definitely a young talent who hasn't received nearly enough attention yet.
Yes!!!!
The Host sucks.
rps121 that's your opinion, i'm sure a lot of people thought it was a terrific movie
So true! I watched her in atonement, even in Hanna. She's awesome
rugbyfan0025 No...
Jessica Chastain, Saoirse Ronan, Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Lena Headey, Brie Larson, Famke Janssen....
Jessica Chastain, if anything, is a very successful and higly acclaimed actress.
Brie Larson is HORRIBLE
Fallen Jenson and Lena Heady
@@hnys7976 She was the best actor in GOT, along with Freddie Allen and Jack Gleeson.
Juliette Lewis, Amy Adams
Zoe Saldana underrated? You disproved that point immediately! Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy!!! What MORE could she do?!!
Although she plays in those movies, no one gives her enough credit for it as either they don't remember her in the film or the attention goes to her co-stars.
You clearly don't understand the meaning of underrated.
Oh and Columbiana.
while I agree that she has been in many popular movies, she has been in ensemble casts where she is either just the main (or only) female character or love interests, that doesn't mean that the characters or performances are bad but most critics don't see those type of characters as the most important ones of the story
Laurie Metcalf is underrated.
MsDreamscaper tell that to her oscar nomination
Didn't she win an Emmy??
@@ShinbiBelldandy 3 Emmys.
Jennifer Jason Leigh is an awesome actress.
Joan Allen's performance in The Crucible brought me to tears. What a tremendous talent she has. I am sure she has an Oscar in her future!
Patricia Clarkson? Why isn't she on here?! Definitely underrated!
Sarah Paulson. Amazing actress.
Jack Basley YES I was looking for someone to comment her! She's not as underrated after her Emmy for People vs OJ. But I've loved her ever since Studio 60!
And Lily Rabe
"Black Snake Moan" should have been nominated for a few Oscars. Both Christina Ricci & Samuel L. Jackson wete both incredible.
Rachel McAdams ain't underrated no more :D
+Utkarsh Bansal she got her spotlight hahahaha
Can u explain this ? I just don't get it , cuz i'm not from US
+Kelvin Tenorio Cruz doesn't take a true detective to work that out
in ways she is. she is mostly known as Regina George.
Robert Price Not anymore. Spotlight got her an Oscar nomination, True Detective gave her a lead role. Now she'll be in Doctor Strange.
List is not complete w/o Naomi Watts.
+Isidro Garcia aw i like her!
SHe is hardly underrated
Ohh! Yeah
So nice to see Emily Blunt on here. And Rachel McAdams and Joan Allen were nice additions too.
Emmy Rossum, by far, is the most underrated actress, very talented and a great singer and the most gorgeous woman in the world.
Scarlett johannson is better.
Kannard Johnson COD Gameplays Not in my opinion. Ever watch, "Shameless" on Showtime? It's with William H. Macy, but we all have our opinions.
***** i know about emmy rossum she was in dragon ball evolution or dragon ball z the movie.
Kannard Johnson COD Gameplays Oh, I don't watch anime movies. She was also in, "Phantom of The Opera" and, "Beautiful Creatures' and she's in another movie with Hilary Swank(forgot the name of it)
***** no no no dragon ball evolution its not anime it a actual real life movie search up emmy rossum dragon ball evolution
Just because they don't star in stupid Hollywood blockbusters doesn't mean they're they underrated.
+unfluster So true....
+unfluster Well perhaps so. I guess they call them under Rated because since they aren't in block busters not every 1 knows them. Like they said these are the ones you go oh that chick. or hay I know her from somewhere, didn't she play so and so? That kind of thing.
Underrated actress Rachel McAdams now nominated for an Academy Award :)
Laura Linney & Toni Collette are by far the most underrated actresses of our time.
Sarah Paulson is so underrated she's not even on this list.
Not underrated anymore
I LOVE Rachel McAdams. She's surprisingly versatile as an actress. Carrie Ann Moss was fantastic in Jessica Jones too, I thought.
SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR !!! such an underrated and good actress
Jared V yes!
Jared V
Actually, she's an overrated and terrible actress.
Bendrix27 if you think she is overrated then you need to question your meaning of the word "overrated" plus she is not terrible ... she is very talented very good actress
Jared V Yeah! She's so amazing in Cruel Intentions! (one of my favourite movies)
Jared V Oh yeah I haven't seen her in any movies in like forever no more than Meg Ryan.
I feel Ellen Page should have at least been in the honourable mentions. She is an amazing actress and no one really seems to know her.
goslinggardens1 that's because she sucks
Eh,she is okay!Nothing extra-ordinary.
Everyone knows Ellen Page
Eva green?
Zoe Saldana is not even close to underrated.
i guess watchmojo's perception of "underrated" is anyone who's name isn't talked about over and over until you hear it so much you wanna shoot someone.
+Steven Walker Just like Rachel McAdams, those two shouldn´t be on the list
Zoe and Emily should not be on this list. It is especially funny to me that they mentioned. Emily staring next to big actors like JGL. Who even at the time of Loopers release. I would say she was more famous then him.
Vera Farmiga, you're welcome WM
Yesss I love her😊
Vera Farmiga, Eva Green, Toni Colette, Gillian Anderson
Rachel McAdams ftw! :)
She is lame. Asf
@@christinsmith550 she is a great actress
@@seanchukwuezi3079 😂
@@christinsmith550 what
@@christinsmith550 dude you’re just hating to hate man, she’s in so many different genres, she was in the notebook (romantic drama), mean girls (comedy), red eye (great underrated thriller directed by the man who made nightmare on elms street west craven) dude I didn’t even know she was considered underrated, great actress you might not like her as a person but hands down a great actress so stfu
At least Eddie Redmayne was actually doing something in Jupiter Ascending.
For me I hate how she sighs a lot
Zack Fry i loved her in On the Road and the Runaways too
Zack Fry I don't know which one is right, Twilight ruins Kristen Stewart or Kristen Stewart ruins Twilight??
Khairunnisa Tuning Prayati Personally, I think that Kristen Stewart was directed to be boring and unemotional and that even if it was a different actress, it would have been a similar performance. So I think the first one
Eva Green. she is phenominal in everything she does.
Diane Lane, Olivia Williams, Elizabeth Mitchell and Emma Thompson.
Cristina Ricci was a really amazing as Wednesday. For me,it’s one of the best performances by a children ever.
I'd put Laura Linney on there too
Lauren Linney is very underrated. She is a great actress
it's Laura fyi
Yeah she's creepy as fuck in the Truman Show
Mia Wasikowska. Already quite good at the moment and still have a lot of potential.
Hysen Friel Wouldn't call her underrated
I'd give Michelle Williams, Emma Rossum, and (before Empire at least) Taraji P. Henson
Jena Malone I consider to be a very talented actress; I don't think she got the roles she diserves.
Seeing her work in Hunger Games and Suckerpunch, she always stood out. I'll watch Donnie Darko too if I can get a copy.
I agree have you ever seen a bastard out of Carolina? She was only a little girl but her acting was amazzzzing
Top 10 overrated actresses with #1 being Jennifer Lawrence.
Thank you! Finally someone agrees
mimi arthur she got an Oscar only because standards have been way lowered. And Oscar lost its meaning pretty much.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy everyone's films, but some get undeserved attention, then it kinda loses meaning to me.
Also, she's a bit arrogant, would you not agree?
/
assimilation9 I wasn't under the impression she's seen as a good actress.
/
Juno Temple, Emily Browning, Rooney Mara, Michelle Williams, Zoe Saldana, and Emily Blunt. THOSE are the kind of actresses that deserve the most attention.
The DayDreamer Zoe Saldana no thank you!
Helena Bonham Carter.
She is not underrated at all. She threw away her career to star in her husbands bad movies.
Why? She ranks number 6 among "Highest-Grossing Actresses of All Time" and has been nominated for and won a whole lot of awards incuding the Oscars, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy.
She's a phenomenal actress
She is not underrated! She is an incredible actress and people and film industry know that. Look at all the films she does.
EVA GREEN
There are just too many underrated female actresses.
I love Mary Elizabeth Winstead i thought she would have been on it
I feel your pain
She’s awesome
Diane Kruger, fuckin love her.
underrated actress in English speaking countries:
Tilda Swinton
Toni Collette
Katherine Keener
Marcia Gay Harden
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Joan Cusack
Laura Linney
Eva Green
Rosemund Pike
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Joan Allen
Diane Lane
Anjelica Huston
Vera Farmiga
Zoe Saldana
Kristin Scott Thomas... etc.
these're just few on top of my head, much much more😳
Viola Davis. and let's not bring up attractiveness as such a big factor as much as we are
No, no, no. Toni Colette is the number one most underrated actress around. Hands down. She's so underrated that you didn't even consider her for your list.
Agree!
But she was nominated for an Oscar
She also won an Golden Globe (and was nominated a couple of Times) and won an Emmy.
But than again, Joan Allen and Minnie Driver shouldnt be on this List as well.
Not to mention Delotta Brown
I love the way these videos are edited, like the humorous exchange between the narration and clips.
The fact that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is not even in honorable mention show how underrated she is.
You should do top ten over rated. Jennifer Lawrence is so ridiculously over rated, it isn't even funny.
Now Rachel Mcadams is nominated for Spotlight. Good movie and great actress!
Michele Monaghan, Carey Muligan, Brittany Snow, Bryce Dallas Howard, Emy Rossum, Kat Dennings, Rooney Mara
***** I'm actually not that attracted to the last four. I genuinely think they are underrated, maybe non of them has done any award-worthy preformances (just Carey Mulligan), but they've certainly done good work that by this time should have lead them to better acting gigs.
I agree with this list but where is Marisa Tomei? She has an Oscar, many nominations but her name is barely heard in Hollywood.
Sarah Paulson, Ellen Burstyn, Vera Farmiga, Linda Hamilton, Kyra Sedgwick.
Zoe Saldana is an A list celebrity and an amazing actress with a BUNCH of roles. How is she even on this list? I realize this top 10 came out in 2014, but by that time she had been in the following GOOD movies or acted with GOOD actors:
Drumline - 2002
Pirates 2 - 2003
The Terminal - 2004
Vantage Point - 2008
Star Trek - 2009
Avatar - 2009
Death at a Funeral - 2010
The Losers - 2010
Takers - 2010
Colombiana - -2010
Star Trek 2 - 2013
Out of the Furnace - 2013
Guardians of the Galaxy - 2014
She isn't underrated at ALL.
CyDoneTV agreed
Mia Farrow the most underrated actress ..never even got nominated for a Oscar ..Should have won for Rosemarys Baby and Purple Rose of Cairo ..
Well, I am not sure Farrow in Rosemary's baby can match the ultimate performance of Zoe Saldana in Star Trek.... I am kidding of course, I agree with you...
Toni Collette, Maggie Gyllanhal, Vera Farmiga, and Jena Malone (Stepmom, Donnie Darko, Joana from Hunger Games). All should have been on this list.
I think Elizabeth Banks should also be on this list. She gets a lot of commedy roles but when I watched "The Next 3 Days" she was really good in it. Ithink she's a lot more versatile than people think.
Felicity Huffman? Vera Famiga?
Zoe Saldana, Rachael McAdams, and Emily Blunt are not underrated... they are all among the top 10 working actresses at the moment. Sure none of them are getting Oscar noms, but that's more because of the roles they are choosing, or the lack of leading dramatic roles for 20-35 year old females. I agree with the rest of the list, and I know the entire thing can't be woman over 35. For younger faire, should have had Evan Rachel Wood on the list proper, along with Lizzy Caplan and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Harkness78 omg agree with you a hundred percent!
I call for another 'most underrated male actors' list just because Cillian Murphy wasn't on it.
derek luke
they already did it
Black Icon Larenz Tate
I love Cillian Murphy..... I also adore Rachel McAdams.
I have Red Eye on DVD.... two for the price of one
Standing Bull hell yeah
YES YES AND YES FOR EMILY BLUNT!!!! She was SO awesome in Looper and Edge of Tomorrow! :D
What about Dianna Agron and Emily Browning?
+Chayanis Lee yeah both are really great actresses and so underrated.
Dianna Agron has only ever been in terrible movies
+Lucy G same with Emily browning
Underrated mean 1. talented actress but 2. not recognisable. Though argon fulfill the second criterion, she failed for the first criterion.
aaronjohn786 but emily browning did good job in acting.
Kristen Bell, Allison Brie and Cobie Smulders need to be on this list.
Kristen Bell is soooo overrated, don't even get me started.
FACT : Cobie Smulders is not underrated.
Yeah, I'd call her more of an "up-and-coming" actress, seeing as she's only finished HIMYM
Yes on Alison Brie, she's fantastic in Mad Men.
Kristen Bell is beautiful but she cant act
Charlize Theron and Jessica Chastain should've made the list. You'd be surprised over how few people I've talked to know their work.
Charlize Theron underrated ? hmm no.
KRIEGLERR plus shes super hot :)
Chastain is overrated IMO.
Emily blunt I agree, but Blake lively isn’t taken as seriously as she should. She is a really good actress and most people can’t see her for anymore then just Serena Van Der Woodsen in gossip girl
Michelle williams should've been here!! her work is never recognized.
Zakia Antoinette agree
YASSSSSSSSS
Except when she got worldwide recognition and fame that time she played Marilyn Monroe 😮🙄
And the 3 OTHER times she was nominated for an Oscar...
Youre obviously in la la land. Michelle Williams is always being nominated for Oscars.
Emily Blunt’s Oscar nomination is LONG overdue. Easily one of the best in the industry for the last 10 years.
Judy Davis, Jennifer Connelly, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, Toni Collette, Eva Green, Evan Rachel Wood, Rosamund Pike, Sarah Paulson, Thandie Newton, Samantha Morton are among the most underrated actresses:(
Jessica Chastain?
I love Jessica Chastain but I think Hollywood is on to her. It's only a matter of time before she wins an Oscar. She's incredible in everything she does.
yeah essentially 6 years ago she was an unknown then boom 2011 she has four movies( the help, tree of life, Coriolanus, take shelter) released which were her break though and now her career exploded which impressive for somebody her age, and now hollywood is treating her as if she was a well known actress for decades with all these high profile roles even tough she wasn't known till 2011

Sam Malla my underrated bae
A lot of great actresses here but half of them I would not call underrated. Here's a few I think truly are:
Brie Larson (probably not for long after Room)
Olivia Munn (watch The Newsroom)
Christina Ricci should be much higher on the list
Laura Linney
Sophia Myles
lol, Olivia Munn
+Stéphane Bergeron Sarah Paulson!
She was brilliant in that movie. And the movie itself was fantastic. It's so great to see a thriller that doesn't give in to cliche and let's the story play out very naturally. That kid was great in it, too. He's going to be a super star.
Brie Larson is horrible which movie did she act in again?
I would like to add Laura Linney and Glenn Close; love their diverse performances and hope to see these two amazing addresses in more leading roles.
ii dont get why zoe zaldonna on here. shes in a bunch of blockbusters. she currently in 2 franchises Star Trek ad Gaurdians.
And Avatar... she's one of the most succesful actresses right now, to be honest.
i think she is underrated in her talents, not name recognition
I think it's more because she's not necessarily recognized for her acting talents but more for being the attractive girl in all of the Sci-Fi films.
