Connor what's up Brother
thanks bro - once a gamer boy always a gamer boy
Dang bro i tore both of my ACLs playing football too. One at 16 and the other at 19. Tried to play again at 23 and my knees are so sore. I can’t imagine all the hard work and dedication it takes to come back and play from that. Good for you man, i miss the beautiful game so much.
Appreciate this mate. Yeah it's a long journey and I found that I had to slowly build up training loads. Did you have reconstructions on yours? For me, if I am not consistently training / keeping on top of things then I will get reactions from my knees. My body for both of mine produced a ton of excess scar tissue which is why I had to have additional surgery after main recon. My left knee feels great, the right one I've even really focusing on getting that full extension you need when performing power movements and sprint, I do have it mostly and keeping my weight down and working through that full range helps me a ton!
@@KieranHiggss yeah they took a piece of my hamstring and mended them.
My problem is I was never really disciplined when I was younger. When I was 13 I had one really good year. In America you can only play for either academy or highschool. I got rejected by an academy so I decided to go to highschool. From there it was just downhill. My brother tore his and one week later I tore mine, seriously.
That was when I was 16, after that I pretty much gave up on soccer (football). But I tried again when I was 18 and I tore my other one.
Now I am 23 and in the Army. The Army has a team on base and I am able to play since training with the academies in my youth gave me good touch. But now I am 205-210 and its just hard. Ive been icing, stretching, doing knee strengthening, and eating healthy but after every game my knees are so sore. I decided to call it quits but it really hurts man, i love this game so much and I am supposed to be in my prime but I was never disciplined when I was younger and I paid for it.

@@KieranHiggss thats why people like you amaze me. Also usually ACL is non contact, so you have to get your confidence back.
The fact that you are still playing is amazing and impresses me way more than some pro footballer that just has a lot of natural talent.
ACLs are nightmares
@@motorsportministries7843 Nah feel this a lot. It depends what you're after doing, but regardless of football being the intention or not. I noticed a BIG different when I was at the weight you are now. I've come down from around that to now being 185-190. Not only did the process of getting there help, (more running, functional movements etc.) but being that bit lighter. Days after games or big sessions I feel 10x better with my knees.
The truth is, unless you have a goal that is directly affected by doing those functional, plyometric movements and running more it is hard to train that way. But compared to when I focused on typical body building, knees have felt 100x better bro.
Definitely something to think about, and the process is long because to begin with you'll have sore knees after certain sessions that stops you for a few days / week, but slowly you'll build that resistance and be slightly lighter. I'll keep you updated with my knees, but again recently since doing those things have felt so much better!
This video bangs, the arc back to norwich, crazy !
Fortnite goat, cheers bro!
Really like watching you progress and improve throughout your journey
LEGEND! Thanks for watching for real, lots to come!🤝
I dont recommend saying cp because ya know what it might stand for
😂
makes me sad that people like kieran could’ve been absolute class ballers, and now are just chilling in non league
Love seeing this , shows any boys and girls of 10 or 11 the now that might be doing great keep going but don’t ever think it’s just done and you’ve made it but again also if you get injuries or knocked back don’t give up keep fighting . Maximum respect to you Kieran young man, keep doing what your doing and I wish you luck
Life comes full circle sometimes
1000%
Bro keep up the grind you and Connor are the og goated football TH-camrs
Class video mate . Keep it up
cheers brother
This is inspirational, great vlog Kieran
Thank you 🙌
Great watch Higgs, come a long way my friend. Keep smashing it 👊
the legend himself, appreciate you brother. Been there since the start crazy to think about
Big up Lowestoft town. Great vid mate, hope you’re doing well mate
my brother, I'm good man, hope you're too fr x
The hardest thing is learning to trust your body again. I have had several knee surgeries and the battle is just as much mental. You need to trust your knees. There are great ways to build up that trust. One is to play a sport for fun that you don’t normally play. You tend to play it more for fun and focus on trying to be good because it doesn’t come natural like football. That focus on the game takes your mind off the knees.
Also, I hate to say it, but next time you need a knee surgery, have it in the USA. There’s a reason Zlatan and many others have done it.
Best of luck on your journey. Your hard work will pay off. But that positive attitude will pay off more.
100% trust comes with time. That;'s why especially with longer term injuries you should not be looking to cut corners, instead eventually accept you'll be injured and use the time to return better!
less touches further away from goal, pass to your teammates 1/2 touch & let them create the chances to you in and around the box, good video mate
I feel for you, so unlucky with injuries your in great shape btw your going to kill it this season lm almost certain.
It's crazy to think about but I enjoy being out there regardless after all the time I've missed and being able to share my story to inspire others makes it worth it to me! Yeah, we will keep pushing to be in proper footballing shape and have a top season 🤝
@@KieranHiggss You inspire me, that much I know, you go get it! rooting for you will be following closely, you're in great shape now and will only get better from here on out!
Loving the vids bro!
Yes brother, you too man! Keep smashing it
legend!!
Appreciate you man!
Looking leaner and fitter than you have in a long time- you're getting that football physique back bro 👏
Slowly getting there bro, proper going for it now... Thing is even when heavier I'm naturally fast so if I can get to near 80kg while continuing to do my power, speed work etc. I should be able to mooooovee 💨
@@KieranHiggss Love that bro, lets get it this season 🔥
Great vidd❤❤❤❤❤ keep it up ❤❤❤❤ also just subscribed ❤❤❤
appreciate you bro! Thanks a lot!
Since you have two acl tears already please please please don’t wear fg boots on ag
Respect 🫡 appreciate the video and documentary. It will help so many people in their personal journeys. Train hard fight easy. ❤
Constructive criticism- Lay off doing so much weighted gym work, doing loaded weight exercises will lead to more injuries. You take way too many touches. 2-3 touches max, try to always be a 2 touch player. Shoot, cross, pass or clear the ball. Should always know what u gonna do with the ball before u get it. As a striker stay high and work off either the front or back stick looking for that easy finish. No need to always be coming into wingers spaces or midfield. Let those guys do their job so u can just focus on those one-two touch finishes.
This is top advice!
Yeah I've made a big shift in my style of training. Was lifting weight way too much, now switched to more functional based movements that focus on power, explosiveness with strength elements included. More football specific fitness, weights been coming down nicely whilst progressing my power / speed so looking to be sharp for this season. Already seeing the benefits massively!
Appreciate this comment though for real, I'm still adapting to playing as a 9, always been a natural winger and learning how to be more reliable, effective and like you said play off less touches!
@@KieranHiggssas you were a wide player. Just think/ remember how you wanted your no. 9 to be like when you were getting the ball into the box etc. From one wide player to another. All the best bro ❤
Norwich supporter love it mate
Appreciate you bro, was unfortunate that the surface made the game a bit dead for both sides!
0:46 where is this pitch it looks familiar
Class video mate just got home from my acl op lastnight been waiting 4 years
My brother, appreciate this comment. Hardest part is the first few weeks post OP but now you've had it done, you know everyday is a step towards returning properly!
@@KieranHiggss biggest worry is doing it again🤣
Sub 7MIN pace is not slow and steady - thats rapid!!
hahaha appreciate you bro, I've always been a naturally good runner... I focus more on HR when I do my road runs!🤝
Noti gangggg
LEGEND!
Great mate. You say “boys”. I’m sure some young girls very inspired by your story mate. Make it for the girls too!
Massive habit, from the gaming days... Still speaking to everyone! But let me try work on that!
Good luck on your FA cup game brother
appreciate you man 🤝
@@KieranHiggssyour the goat bro pls keep doing what your doing I am sure one day you will play in a much higher league. your work ethic is inspiring bro ❤️
Luv the consistency 🌟
YES BRO, we're back! Hope you're well?
@@KieranHiggss As always 🌟
Great vid man as always, question for you. If you only train with the team once a week, can you get a smaller group of you together to do some smaller group stuff everyday? That will get your 1 on 1s really sharp - plus it's always better training with others e.g. you with CP in lockdown.
Yeah obviously I do my own individual sessions & sometimes with a 1-1 coach. Small group sessions would 100% be valuable to get done. It would be more about finding somewhere good to train and the people!👏🏻
very good video, great build up
appreciate that brother!
good video, im not a coach but a bit of advice when u get the ball and u take on ur man shoot quicker i feel u delay the shot massively causing u to get less shots off
No you're 100% right... Noticed this a lot and it comes from being a natural winger. I lock in on the next defender and where I can dribble / drive and don't always look for early shooting opportunities, which is something this season I'm working on. Especially because I want to push to get a ton of goals playing #9
Bottle caps are like that because they have to be recycled together i think. Do you think being as light as possible is good for avoiding injuries?
I trained woth u woth alan and ur dad at levy last last year and u said i was the best penalty taker in the team i will never foget that ❤❤
@@Ttvgetbottied you legend, i remember that session🤝🤝 hope you’re good bro
I don't know whether I should write this. I knew you were a prodigal player. Then you had a serious knee injury and never managed to make it back. And from the videos, you relied on your athleticism more than your skills to progress up the youth ladder. That knee injury literally killed the main aspect of your game. You think you are still that young player, which you aren't. Either you adapt to play simple or hang it up. Your decision-making hasn't improved in years. You still don't know when to pass the ball or dribble.
If you quit now and focus on being a coach,. You will do great. You've got all the knowledge, experience, and know-how. And since you are still young, you can get your pro coaching license within a short amount of time.
Ps: Easy to say shit on net. :(
Nah I appreciate this fully and if I was still thought I was going to become a top pro then everything you've said is 100% spot on. I'll be honest I wasn't too happy with this performance because of that fact, typically my 1v1 ability to beat a man and provide end product is a lot better however wanted to show both sides.
I've also had a weird couple of seasons of not playing too many matches, my main focus is to get down to my best footballing weight so physically I'm where I need to be, my knee injuries haven't effected my phyiscal potential more so the story with it (I stopped playing for a while, wasn't too focused on football etc but I've always had natural athletic ability which I'm really pushing now)
My main goal with this TH-cam is to enjoy training and trying to improve and help others do the same, RATHER than if I was younger where my main objective would be to make it pro.
In regards to coaching spent the last 12 months working with ballers online and building the levelete academy (brought together some of the best coaches across nutrition, s&c and recruitment) to share my experience and knowledge and truly help players.
I do appreciate this message bro, I still have ambition to become a top top non-league player and decision making with more end product is a big part of that!
Try al qubila fc
21:14, wins the ball off opposing centre back and passes it backwards to your own defence. Rebrands it as ball retention. 😂😂😂😂 modern day codswallop
Bro film the keep ball next time
Remember me when your famous
sick
You should come play for Needham mate. You’re better than Isthmian North
Wouldn't say I'm better than, had a period of not enjoying football last couple seasons and led to me realistically being too heavy (too much gym), but enjoying it again and lost a lot of weight + been training like a footballer. So hoping to have a real good season get a ton of confidence while enjoying it! Appreciate you though bro!
You do a bit too much, beat your man release it. Don’t need to take him on every time and try beat all of them, lost the ball more than you succeeded with take ons. Focus on showing bits, passing etc and then choose your explosive moments carefully, you can’t do it everytime
Thanks for the comment bro. I feel you for sure, I feel like the 1v1s I got when I'm full sharpness would be more effective with it. Think it's also a case with like you said, sometimes getting a yard putting in an early cross, combining and mixing it up which then when I go to take on the defender will be less obvious. But agree and thanks again!
@@KieranHiggss class vids tho bro watch every one. I’ve had a similar travel with football; was playing at Bristol City academy until 16 then didn’t get a scholar and got released, went out to the states to play for 4 years and then came back to men’s football back in the UK, constant set backs and injuries tho
when did u go goals u could've stuck me in net😂 I live in norwich
hahaha I train in Norwich a lot to be fair!
What club do you play for ?
did you play with glen middleton?
Back at norwich yes brother
Are you playing pro football currently
i dont think sodium is the only salt 💀
yeah of course not, I use electrolytes mainly to replenish
Pass more.
there are more salts than sodium chloride that you have to replace. 16:04
Yes very true, I try to consume electrolyte tables that include more of the salts throughout the week!
I play for iswch
Is the app good for goalkeepers
Being honest, we focus on outfield players for the football sessions. However, we have brought in nutrition, gym and recruitment professionals to help our players in those areas which will be useful for GKs
You play a lot on ball, minimalize this extra touches and start passing because you waste a lot of opportunities for your team. Otherwise you are inspiration for your work ethic.
Yeah 100%, appreciate you watching and giving some advice
Only seen two of your videos, and in those two videos you had highlights where the match would've been +1 in your favor if you had just lifted your head up and passed the ball to the person that's running through 😅 greedy player!
All about building that awareness and improving decision making, especially in pre-season. Played our first league game this weekend gone and got two assists so hopefully next video you see some improvement with that. Took the comments on board!🤝
What do you do to earn money to continue chasing your dreams? Do you have a job or does the money come from TH-cam?
I do social media work for businesses, videography etc. & obviously right now our online academy where we coach and give ballers plans is closed while we prepare for the launch but that also!💨
Hello there i’m from America i’m currently 16 about to be 17 and i recently try out for ma high school team and i didn’t make the cut im now considering into giving up or idk any advice?
Focus on working and making money, no money in football unless you’re Messi or Ronaldo. U have more chance of winning the lotto. Do it for fun don’t take it so seriously.
I’m in the same boat man, but I’m moving to Greece to keep playing. I’m accepting and you have to accept that there is a very high chance of being poor for years or not getting to the highest level.
@@YuuArgay I got no money especially in america it’s pay to play yk so it’s harder to make it pro here
@@superslayerz652 Yes this is why America will never win the Copa America or World Cup. Only rich people can succeed here.
You've got to enjoy the process brother! Sometimes it's easier said than done after setbacks. But from my experience, when you're enjoying your football (playing consistently, confident etc.) you do more outside your team training / matches to actually improve week in week out. & in the long run even though you may have dropped down levels you end up actually becoming a better player for it and eventually move back up!
Slow 5k 🤔
You are so unconsistent bro where is the videos 1 month
learn to pass
Ipswich are better
You should do less gym sessions
What have you done to improve your game understanding and to make better decisions on the field?
Have you felt that you are not sure what to do in a certain situation, and what do you do to solve it?
1000% feel like as I'm getting sharper and actually becoming football fit for how I play, things are becoming easier. Obviously, I'm watching all my games back and looking at situations I get into regularly and working on that in my individual sessions. Appreciate the comment!
@KieranHiggss hi mate, just discovered ur channel-earned yourself a sub!
