Our first time in Chiang Rai was amazing!! We both backpacked Thailand before moving here and neither of us had heard of Chiang Rai. We were SO surprised by how many amazing places there were in Chiang Rai!!! We had a 3 day weekend off work, so we decided to take an overnight bus from Bangkok to Chiang Rai and spend the weekend exploring this amazing part of Thailand before flying home on Monday. This vlog is from our first day in Chiang Rai where we went to the White Temple, the Blue Temple, and the Black House - as well as the Wat Huay Pla Kang temples, the Chiang Rai clock tower, and the Singha Park! We also tried suki - a Thai food we had never tried before Chiang Rai (the Pattaya trip was after this ^_^ ).

Although for the mountains and caves I definitely think it would be better not in the rainy season.. we always try to find a lot of places we want to check out when we travel, but still try to leave some of it spontaneous....usually it works out well 🤣 lol ❤️

Really enjoyed watching your vlog. If you love coffee, I recommend you to visit Doi Chang too. I haven’t been there yet. I wish to go there sometime . There are coffee plantations, very nice coffee shops and accommodations with amazing scenery❤😊

Thanks for taking us to Chiang Rai. My husband and I actually love this province more than Chiang Mai as it is quieter. Anyway, not sure if you have visited the old temples which are in the city i.e Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Phra Sing. The first one is the one that my husband always goes to pay respect to the Buddha there whenever he visits Chiang Rai. It is a small temple but old. You have to search for the history.
Anyway, look forward to your next video where you are going to the Cave and the Triangle.

The artist built the Blue Temple. It was the pupil of the artist who built the White Temple, and behind the Blue Temple there is a standing white Buddha statue.

Thai style "Sukiyaki" or "Suki" that you had was the dry Ski. Just make sure you order it dry next time, otherwise you will get it like a noodle soup as standard.

At Chiang Saen district there is an ancient city that is almost 1,000 years old and the terrain on the way to Chiang Khong district is very beautiful.😉
You should try going to Pang Ung lake and Rak Thai Village,too. 😊
Every Sunday there is a night market in Chiang Rai town.

White temple is amazing. By the way, do you know why temples there have different colors? Interesting
I'm not sure why they have different colors...they are so amazing though 😍😍😍
The white temple or Wat Rong Khun is build by Thai famous artist, Chalermchai Kosidhitpipat, he like white colour.
The black house is belong to the other famous artist, Dhawan Ducthchanee (he has passed away) who preferred black colour.

We lived in Bangkok for 1.5 years and traveled all over the country every weekend. We LOVE Thailand so much! 😍😍😍

You guys seem to be lacking in research or information about the places you visited. When I travel I read up on the sights I visit so I can have a better understanding - and enjoyment - of what I'm looking at. Example: at 9:15 you call the monumental female statue "not Buddha." Huh? That is Kwan Yin (or Guanyin) - the Buddhist Bodhisattva of Campassion, also known as Avalokiteshvara. A bodhisattva is a divine being who has postponed his or her attainment of Buddhahood in order to save humanity. I offer this comment as a suggestion... after all you are just tourists not tour guides, but some prior reading up might make your descriptions more interesting.
