Paul Gilbert Live at Iridium with the Les Paul Trio. Sorry for the recording thing in the corner...I assumed it wouldn't record that being on the screen.
Just saw Paul Gilbert for the first time on a TH-cam G3 concert. Thought he was great and decided to search for more of his concerts. Thanks TH-cam, and thanks to whoever posted this great concert.
U guys aren't understanding what the Iridium and the Sunday Les Paul Trio thing is all about. If you have not been then you ain't in! This is a special venue where massive players can just play and have fun. The setting the intimacy and the sheer fun these shows exhibit make them such a celebration of music for the sake of the art. These shows allow players to just relax and enjoy. And it's rare air my friends. The Iridium is like a small private party in my living room. A rare glimpse into art.
I was there, front row! I'm the chick recording the entire time:) Paul's wife Emi waves to me as they take the stage.....and at the very end, (1:04.24 it starts) she comes up to me and shakes my hand. So cool she remembered me from July 2012, when I was at Paul Gilbert's Great Guitar Escape with my fiance. Was incredible!!!! Lol, yes Lois face looked Pissed the entire time, but he wasn't upset.
+petesgrl420 -- Cool story, and cooler yet to find a chick who's into Paul's music, but... I didn't see Emi come close to the front of the stage or even greet anyone near the back as they came up the steps. Perhaps you're embellishing out of excitement? ; ] She turned, looked, and waved in the direction of a gal yelling 'Emi!", but that's it. Maybe the '420' in your channel name means something significant here. ; ] I saw the phone camera in the front row when they were taking the stage, and I assume that was you. I met Paul in 1995, and he's cool as can be. He let me videotape -- when it was still actually a tape medium -- a clinic he did, and I've wanted to get it on TH-cam in its entirety for years now.
theoriginalbillholt Yes I am a huge fan. I editted my comment to explain all. No I did not exaggerate, at 1:04.24 she sees me, comes up to me, talks and shakes my hand. It is at the very, very end. She knows me from Paul's guitar camp they did week long in July 2012. And just because 420, doesn't mean I don't recall the events from that night. My memory is actually awesome;-) That's not me with the cell phone. I am right in front of Paul, using my Sony cybershot. So just to clarify and now you know. Cool you met him back in 1995.
Love Paul but I think this was an experience he had high hopes for but was let down by the venue's unprepared attitude. Paul still manages to deliver a lot of fun but I think his expectations were crushed...and his guitar tone is completely wrecked as well.
Why does Lou look so pissed off? Because he knows every chord inversion ever invented and he's constantly backing up 50 plus semi retired metal heads.Gilbert is a great talent but....I saw Andy Timmons at the Iridium last year and it was the same deal
OMG, who the hell is the FOH sound guy??? TURN OFF THE DELAY!!! A great show ruined by a lousy FOH mix. Nice going, Iridium. Thanks for posting the show, though.
I love Paul, but this is just awful. His playing is utterly stiff and predictable in this setting, not to mention the "singing". No offense Paul, but I think you do better in your shredding world. There are tons of blues guitarists out there who are far beyond this.

PG & wife ... the most extraordinary couple of musicians ever
I love it when Paul sings...I prefer it over just pure shredding :)
Was at this show with my uncle and brother. We lost it when he started playing with his teeth. Such a great experience.
That's when all the phones came out to start recording or to take that once in a lifetime pic.
super concert de reprises par Paul au meilleur des sa forme ..! merci beaucoup , je vais le voir ce soir, 20 Mars en concert a la Fleche d'Or a Paris

That is "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago! Great band!!
This is great stuff. How ever the audio needs work way too much slap back in the delay too much echo.

what's the name of song? 52:00
That's Paul's new signature model.
Don't get me wrong, I would Love to here/see, 'Scarified' & 'Viking Kong'.But this would be an Absolute Treat & Education!
Still better vocals than Dream Theater-
Entire-mix delay wtf?
hahaha this is great. Lou made my day. lmao cant help it. He is so grumpy.
grandpa said: what the hell i am doing here? XD
what is that song ,minute 31?
+Emm Aya, it's Blue Rondo à la Turk.
Old dude guitar player doesn't approve of stopping the song.."In my day we didn't have fancy headphones...punk."
That face over exspretion...lol
Don't fuck with the Lou at 0:42:00, LOL, Lou rules, I can't stop laughing!
Is it just me or does Lou not look very happy?
He doesn’t look loud..😂

Lou looks pretty pissed off about something ..
OMG, who the hell is the FOH sound guy??? TURN OFF THE DELAY!!! A great show ruined by a lousy FOH mix. Nice going, Iridium. Thanks for posting the show, though.

He looks angry...
During Still got the blues, WHAT THE FUCK IS STHE SOUND MAN DOING WITH ALL THAT ECHO!!!? He ruined that song!
