Your response to women’s rage and the fear of being labeled whether it’s an “aggressive black man” or Angry Woman is valid. Angry woman is something we have seen portrayed and spoken about in a negative light for so long. I liked how you related but didn’t diminish the women’s plight. I love the entire album and their conversations prior to each song. Mad Woman and Peace are two of my favorites!

You forgot the deluxe song from this album called "The lakes". It is the last song of this film too.
Yes, Taylor is a master songwriter, producer and director, (and also a genius buissnesswoman, funny, kind and an extremely empathic human being) but to get her genius people need to dive into her albums and the more lore you get, the deeper the rabbithole gets, she has so much symbolism and layers of meanings in her universe. There are so many university courses on her songwriting. Once a person dives into her catalog and learn about her magic mind they become a fan every single time.

Ahh, thanks so much for watching with me Yara! 😊 And do you know, I did forget, haha, I had already finished editing this video when I think I remembered you guys told me there was a bonus track... so I will likely do that on it's own... we've got to complete the set!! And wow... I didn't know there were those kind of studies for her writing... thanks for sharing!!! 😊❤

The discussion in this video about Hoax and the reality of how much of the gray you can withstand in a relationship hit different and linked this album again with her new one (The Tortured Poets Department) where she has a line in Good Bye London that says “how much sad did you think I had, did you think I had in me?” and “You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days.” This is the second time your analysis has linked concepts from this album with concepts on TTPD and other n dictates that some
Songs on TTPD seems in some ways seem like extensions and continuations of the stories in some songs on this album. I have seen a few people comment on the link if You’re Losing Me with the story taken forward in So Long London, but things you said opened some new connections. It all makes sense because her writing contains so much autobiographical content and the story lines in our lives don’t live in one dimension but remain and change and grow and evolve over time, even if the specific events are singular.

I loved reading this! So thank you for watching with me and for commenting on your perspectives and links between the two projects... I did ask the wider community here on TH-cam whether I should go for her sister album that was linked to Folklore or go straight to the latest one! What do you think?? 🤪✨

@@Room2703Reacts I will be honest. There is still a lot of her catalogue that I still haven’t listened to and I have not heard much from Evermore except what she included in the Eras tour concert film for that Era. To be honest, I get stuck with things I already like and watching more reactions to them because I love hearing how other people interpret and hear the lyrics and even if they don’t analyze lyrics, I enjoy watching reactions. So I have really immersed myself in things that are commonly reacted to probably too much to the exclusion of getting deeper in the catalogs. 😬 I get there but it is at a slow pace. 😆 Honestly, for a long time I questioned in my mind why I watch so many reactions (not just TS, but also to other classic songs or artists I love and movies I love) as surely it is a waste of time. It took me a bit to realize that it is because there is joy that comes from watching someone experience or discover a song or artist or movie for the first time that they find enjoyment or surprise or insight in. I realized it is the same reason when we see a great new movie or tv show or song we run out and tell our friends and watch or listen with them and enjoy seeing them enjoy it. I think that provides a dopamine hit to our brains and allows us to experience vicariously the joy of finding something new that they love but is we can now longer experience as a first impression.
Anyway, more than you ever wanted to know, but suffice ot to say, I can’t speak well on whether Evermore is worth it as the next best option. I can say, I have little doubt it will also be equally good. While there are definitely songs or albums here and there that are less my preferred jam or not my favorites, quite frankly I haven’t yet hear much of anything not worth listening to at least once if not a few times (sometimes her songs take multiple listens before they make sense or you like them and I have had them flip after a few listens, but never toward liking them less LOL). My personal opinion is that starting with a variety of selections across albums and topics and presentation (eg studio recordings vs live tour performance vs music video vs special acoustic session) gives you the best perspective on her and allows you to evaluate what era/album you might want to dive deeper into. I think this is especially
true if you appreciate music generally and all kinds of styles and genres and tempos, as you seem like you might.
I actually created a recommended beginner menu of songs and videos that I have shared with some friends that likely misses things many Swifties would recommend but gives a more “whole picture” of her music and insane talent (which you already saw extends beyond the music to directing etc). Happy to share it if you are ever interested. But some people like doing full album reviews as a way to approach experiencing her music and catalogue.
In the end, I am interested in watching whatever you react to as I love your approach and thoughtfulness and openness to experiencing and enjoying music without being bound by prior conceptions. That is the best way to experience TS, IMO.

@@Room2703Reacts one follow up comment might be worthwhile here… whatever approach you take going forward, whether jumping around or by full album review, I would recommend before going much further to react to Don’t Blame Me from the Reputation Tour. I think the only lingering “old narrative” maybe still coloring your reactions and commentary slightly is that she doesn’t have vocal powerhouse skills in her bag. While there are a number of songs and performances that could help disabuse you of this false narrative, this song and performance is one that generally wakes up most people to what she has in her bag that she just doesn’t necessarily choose to use all the time. 😉 it’s also just a really great song.

Loved all your folklore reactions! I hope you decide to do more TS albums soon! I'm a very recent fan of hers as well. I did not think I vibed with her music at all, but now I'm quite obsessed. I would recommend perhaps evermore next if you want to stay in this same kind of zone as folklore, they are "sister" albums and there's some wonderful songwriting on that album as well ("willow", "champagne problems", "'tis the damn season", "tolerate it", "no body / no crime", "cowboy like me", "marjorie", etc - also DO NOT FORGET TO LISTEN TO "Right Where You Left Me" which is a deluxe bonus track and is some of the BEST songwriting she's ever done, the song is hilarious and tragic and so relatable). If you want to switch it up and do something different -- I'd recommend skipping forward to Midnights, because that album is also magic and a great culmination of a lot of her different "eras"! (and if you do Midnights, might as well react to "Midnights - 3am Edition" with the bonus tracks)

Ahh I loved reading your comment! Thank you for watching along with me on my Taylor Swift journey! I actually was due to look at 'Evermore' as others have said similar to you about them being sister albums! But, what I wanted to look at since the Grammys in Feb, is the album that won Taylor AOTY - I've not heard it and wanted to know dive in! Thanks again for your support and for the great background! 😜❤️✨

Peace is one of my favorite Taylor songs & your reaction is validating. It's been so fun watching your journey. I love that you're discussing Taylor out in the wild - you really are one of us now. Based on this reaction, I think you'd really enjoy Evermore.
That being said, it'd be fun to see you do a few live performances in between albums - I recommend Intro/Ready For It, I Did Something Bad, and Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour.

I would love for you to watch her MV for Cardigan. She filmed it in quarantine with like 2 other people and its the most magical beautiful looking MV. There are multiple pianos that basically represent how no matter what she's going through in her life her music is always there to save her. I think you would definitely appreciate it.
Loved your journey through Folklore. I can't wait for you to listen to the Lakes as well its the perfect ending to the album. Its a beautiful lovely song.
You have been such a pleasure to watch because you are so insightful and genuinely open minded about listening to Taylor. Welcome to the discography of Taylor Swift. We're so happy you're here and we hope you stay and listen for a while. ❤

The songs when you think Taylor Swift are made to be comercial and hits but is not like the whole album is only that, I find it funny when people said things like that because that same album that has We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, has songs like all too well, State of grace, sad beautiful tragic and so much more and the same happens with every single album that she has

  • @josefinasoderholm6488

Something to remember.. we are never ever getting back together was written by a teenager.. RED was written by a 20 yer old. This album was written by a woman in her late 20,s-early 30,s. Your life experience, maturity and experience with love and relationships aren’t the same when your a teenager and a 30 something woman. Her voice has also matured and changed. And I’m guessing she since changing labels are much more free in what she writs about and how she presents her music and herself. It’s easy to forget but Taylor has been an artist for 17 years so of course her music and she herself has changed.
