  • --►The Giant Schnauzer is a breed of dog developed in the 17th century in Germany. It is the largest of the three breeds of Schnauzer the other two breeds being the Standard Schnauzer and the Miniature Schnauzer. Numerous breeds were used in its development, including the black Great Dane, the Bouvier des Flandres, and the German Pinscher. Originally bred to assist on farms by driving livestock to market and guarding the farmer's property, the breed eventually moved into the city, where it worked guarding breweries, butchers' shops, stockyards and factories. It was unknown outside of Bavaria until it became popular as a military dog during World War I and World War II.

    Would like to hear more about their high intelligence, easy traineability, loyalty & with selective breeding, excellent temperment. The Giant is a fun dog! They enjoy learning new commands, do very well in obedience & utility. Proud owner of several Giants,.

    The first dog picture is a 'Black Russian Terrier' not a giant schnauzer!

      @@tamikamathis5767 nice to talk to fellow Giant owners (soon to be). Yes we got her as a pup. She’s 17 months now. It’s been a journey because this dog is unlike any we’ve ever owned. They are full of energy!! Very loyal and will guard us and our property with everything she has. We can’t take her out in public without being stopped constantly. People have never really seen this breed and are very curious. But I use it to educate them about Giants. She puts up with strangers but doesn’t really want them to pet her. Never snaps at them or growls, just patient, but at home if u try to come in and she doesn’t know u, then I’m sorry for you if u enter uninvited. She is my black shadow and follows us everywhere. They don’t like to be too far away. We love this dog! Enjoy ur journey because they grow very fast and will keep u busy. U are about to have a new best friend!

      How often do you have your baby groomed?

      @@tamikamathis5767 I remember how exciting we were when we got ours! It was like Christmas! We had to drive 10 hours to get her. Hard to find a good Giant breeder. Glad you’ve had a schnauzer before because u know how stubborn they can be! I get her groomed about every 3 months because we have a small farm and she can get to be a mess if I don’t keep her clipped down, but it’s really ur preference. Some people like them grown out more. I researched this breed a long time before I got her. I hope people do that before they get one. They are not for first time dog owners that’s for sure! I must stay firm with them, they are always looking to take control! They are very smart and easy to potty train. I’m so excited for you! They are so cute when they are little! But beautiful and elegant when grown. Ask anything!

      @@ryanjsgrandma2009 thank you so much for your help! I have been watching numerous videos and educating myself on this breed. My mini was a whole mess but I loved him to pieces!!! I was soooo heartbroken when he passed away. It has taken me 8 years to decide to replace him. I’m getting a boy from a reputable breeder here in Florida about 40 minutes from my home! 10 hours!!! Wowzers! I’m hoping to find a great groomer! The one I had for my mini was awesome but she retired.

    This video is full of inaccuracies about the breed and misuses of English words, I was constantly wanting to quote the Princess Bride at the screen about a word not meaning what you think it means. This had a tendency to be very confusing as to what was actually meant in many cases. I would not rely very much on this channel for accuracy and coherency.

      It’s your animal you should be able to do what you want with it . People get breast implants , circumcised and whole bunch of cosmetic surgery that’s not necessarily what you need but do it anyway

      @@rcasper4700 so basicly what you are saying is, that you can treat your dog like an Object and not like a living beeing, you can do whatever you want with it because its yours ?! You cant even compare this with Cosmetic surgerys because the Person activley chooses to do this and probably feels better afterwards. As for the dog, it has nothing to say and no benefits. With your Metapher it would be like, if i would send my little kid to Cosmetic Surgery because i dont like how it looks.

    • @rcasper4700
      @rcasper4700 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philliprosentreter4245 We can go round and round about this topic. First of all animals can not reason they don’t think like humans. Second my dog has unconditional affection for me and my family without his tail. Have you personally had a dog that it’s tail was constantly getting spit open on random objects in the house then displaying abstract art of blood on the walls or wherever it flings (probably not). Third the word is spelled Metaphor not (Metapher) and yes I’m pretty sure that if your child or children needed or wanted braces you would provide for them ( yes I know that they are only temporary) but the point is the same. It’s not my fault that we all are a little hypocritical in our own ways if we weren’t we wouldn’t be Americans.
