To all wondering why this was only on the Japanese release here's a direct quote of Rody after someone asked him: "because for some reason Japanese labels always want something that the rest of the world doesn’t have. I love going to Japan, and I love Japanese culture, but that’s some fuckin bullshit…. in fact now that you fellas have found that song they’ll probably want something more exclusive." - 27th of June on his personal Tumblr.
I Heard that the reason of this is that european and and generally american productions need more time to be introduced in japanese market. They add bonus tracks top make japanese metalheds wait for the japanese edition instead to buy the US or EU version before the japenese release. This also applies to Destrage's records for example
Japanese labels always want something extra (bonus tracks, usually) because it is cheaper in Japan to import CDs from other countries than it is to buy CDs in Japan itself. Bonus material is on Japanese releases to entice the Japanese to buy CDs in Japan as opposed to importing them.
It's a good instrumental, but Rody's vocals always help to bring their songs to an epic crescendo where some awesome riff and lead part come in. THIS IS MISSING THAT.
Not only that but each album has been very distinct and shows that the band is willing to experiment and change things up without losing touch with their genre. It makes me excited for not only their next album but for each release after that. I can't wait to see in what direction these guys go next; especially with the shift in songwriting roles on Scurrilous. It would be great to see the other 3 members get more involved in the lyrics and hear a few more instrumentals in the future
God they just keep getting better and better, been a loyal listener to kezia, fortress took me a while to open up to surrilous but now i think its by far the best theve put out yet, no lie, LOVE THIS BAND.
HeavyMetalMushrooms Jimi Page explained in an interview why bands always give the Japanese extra content. Apparently the Japanese will just pirate the album then sell pirated copies and everyone buys them. So bands have always had to add extra stuff to albums so the Japanese market will actually buy the albums.
Brian McCarthy It's still kinda shitty that after all these years, it's still not even on iTunes. I would've gladly paid for it, but now I'll have to pirate this track.
I agree with the guy's comment below mine. This band... Man, everything they put out is just so awesome. Kezia: lyrical masterpiece. Fortress: So intricate an complex. And now Scurrilous. I didn't like it at first, but it's really grown on me, and just like all of the other albums, I never skipped a song. Now I find this one, and it's SO FUCKING SICK!
I don't know if they have been produced yet. I met the band and asked Luke about this song and he mentioned that they were still working on those songs and hoping to release them later on an EP or something
if you guys like this then check out Scale the Summit. They are an instrumental prog metal band that are good friends with these guys. All of are class acts. rock on and peace out \m/
@BennyBooIsNotAFoo actually, i once saw that or heard i don't remember, that they said that the album was supposed to have 13-15 songs, but they thought that some songs weren't good enough to release it with the album so they decided to upload them later when the songs would be good enough. And if you look at the PTH studio update, on a board, there's 14 or 15 songs if i remember well ( dunnow if my english is correct enough, didn't speak english in a while, sry dude )
Listen to the intro to The Human Abstract: Patterns, Between the Buried and Me: Selkies: The Endless Obsession and Protest the Hero: To Porter with Love
It's so fucking progressive! I've actually been waiting for this song ever since I heard a little sneak peak in the first studio update. Freakin awesome!
I totally agree they are exceptional musicians, I was just very unfamiliar with the expression you used and it the grammar was slightly off right next to an IQ comment so I had a little chuckle.
If there were 10 songs that made the Scurrilous cut, out of 12, was this considered one of the other 2? Either way what are the other songs? I love Scurrilous.
@HeavyMetalMushrooms If they'd put this on the album they'd probably have written another song for Japan anyway... CD's are really, really expensive over there, especially when importing, so any band that has a shred of decency will do bonus songs for their Japanese audience :) the only other bands I know that do it are Dragonforce and Dragonland, hahaha.
Hey, isn't there another bonus instrumental track from the Scurrilous era? It used to be on youtube but I can't find it now. I think it started with a U and was like 6 minutes? Anyone know what I'm talking about or do I sound crazy

@@Alexabrocksyes I heard something like this too.

I can't believe in only hearing this now. This is so good.
JESUS I CANT BELIEVE IM HEARING THIS JUST NOW.
is there any other B-sides i didnt know existed :O
I remember hearing the ending of this is one of their preproduction videos
Oh
The feels I got when I found an instrumental song by Protest the Hero
The feels I want to remember forever
Try sans fromage, for me it's sublime
Just wanna adopt a pup, listen to this with it, and hang out, dude and dog.

THIS IS AMAZING.
But still, I'd be really curious about how it would sound with Rody's vocals in it.
cant stop listening to this, so beautiful
These are some of the nicest riffs I've heard, ever ! lol how is this not on the canadian release of the album faaaack
I wish they did more instrumental tracks.

I'm a little hurt this was on the japanese release and not the canadian...Really doesnt make sense to me.
I don't know if they have been produced yet. I met the band and asked Luke about this song and he mentioned that they were still working on those songs and hoping to release them later on an EP or something
Saw it live. Shat myself. Had to find it. Great upload sir.
@LiDaPh they are about to go on tour with scale the summit..spookky
Dude I didn't recognize this when they played it live, so glad I found it.
if you guys like this then check out Scale the Summit. They are an instrumental prog metal band that are good friends with these guys. All of are class acts. rock on and peace out \m/
Killer Track. Love Protest The Hero with all my heart.
Me too!
@protestthehero112233 I've heard a number of things but one thing is for sure.. This band is amazing in every aspect! I love them!
@swellconstellations yes he does, he wrote 7 of the 10 songs (the lyrics) on Scurrilous...
@juancamiloh22 I believe this song was a Japanese only release. Sucks, I know, but bands have been doing stuff like that forever.
I just saw the setlist for tomorrow's show and I was like wtf, "To Porter With Love"? How did I not know about this before!?
@swellconstellations Arif writes most of the musical composition, Roddy writes most of the lyrics and the rest of the band contributes in that form.
I've listened to this album at least 100 times and never heard this song
I saw these guys last night and they played it and it was perfect :D
ES UN TEMAZO! HERMOSO! DIOOS COMO AMO PROTEST THE HERO ♥
thanks @MrJepcats
Awesome instrumental but would love to know what the lyrics (if there are any) were.
I'm a little late to the party on these fellows but I must say "Good Goddamn!!" Great f-ing tunes.
How am I just now finding this??
@swellconstellations actually, on scurrilous, he wrote the majority of them
@aRazorsEloquence The beginning first 1:00 sounds similar to Selkies but after that it doesn't any longer
Why wasn't every song on the album like this? That would have been awesome.
this is just art!
@BennyBooIsNotAFoo actually, i once saw that or heard i don't remember, that they said that the album was supposed to have 13-15 songs, but they thought that some songs weren't good enough to release it with the album so they decided to upload them later when the songs would be good enough. So I just found out this exists. Thank you Protest
Listen to the intro to The Human Abstract: Patterns, Between the Buried and Me: Selkies: The Endless Obsession and Protest the Hero: To Porter with Love
Damn, I wish I had this song on my copy of Scurrilous... :)
If you like this listen to the band Scale The Summit, they're awesome their last album is called The Collective
WONDERFULL!!
Love the Star Trek Homages. 3:32!!!
@majorleagueplayer44 I can notice the similarity in the intro
Great track. Always reminded me of the instrumental version of CKY's Disengage the Simulator.
@JKeslr So I've heard. It's a shame. I can't imagine being okay with spending that much money on an album.
I almost always prefer instrumental stuff, so I'm all for that.
This is amazing
It's so fucking progressive! I've actually been waiting for this song ever since I heard a little sneak peak in the first studio update. Freakin awesome!
@Manbagdeluxe Not just me that expects "these are the voyages...." to be said at that time then :P
Freaking awesome.
Protest the Summit!
I agree..I want a hard copy of this song on my ipod. Love it, but hate having to come here to listen to it. O___e
@LiDaPh Lmao you mean that single riff at the start ? ahah
We need a lyrics video😂😂😂
@IcarusCinematics exactly
amazing!
Part starting at 3:25 is beautiful, damn.
@stever199 I've uploaded it and added a link in the description.
I totally agree they are exceptional musicians, I was just very unfamiliar with the expression you used and it the grammar was slightly off right next to an IQ comment so I had a little chuckle.
@ChapterFour70 I got it. :) Thanks much. ;)
@TheFeral666 Yeah I can definitely see what you mean there.
It would have been nice to get this song :/
thanks for doing that for me, cam'ron
i've always heard that japanese get bonus songs because albums cost more, like twice as much.
Scale the Hero! :P
If there were 10 songs that made the Scurrilous cut, out of 12, was this considered one of the other 2? Either way what are the other songs? I love Scurrilous.
Scale the Hero
Protest the Summit
Haha awesome Star Trek allusion begins at 3:39!
This actually reminds me of something Scale the Summit would write.
this already is a masterpiece dont you see :p
Woaooo this song? Where can I find it?
Summit the Hero
@HeavyMetalMushrooms

CD's are really, really expensive over there, especially when importing, so any band that has a shred of decency will do bonus songs for their Japanese audience :) the only other bands I know that do it are Dragonforce and Dragonland, hahaha.
The song's pretty tame for them, but it's a good jam.
omg omg omg make an instrumental album
And to think I knew this album through and true. Damn haha
Heard Sans Fromage yet? The song they scrapped but it's actually on TH-cam here (instrumental)
That ending. Jesus Christ that ending.
@medic2009guy and Ariff signed my kezia tab book, and Moe signed my scurrilous tab book :D they're fucking cool dudes
Well, true.
damn where are the other B sides at? I bought the tab book and it mentions that there are 3 songs besides this that didnt make the album. Any leads?
Rody like a boss.
God dammit this is so fucking good.
Protest the summit
or
Scale the hero?
Dat bass.
@mordhaus666 pfffttthhh...that made me giggle. ;)
@ShadowCrowX Spot On!

Gem
Hey, isn't there another bonus instrumental track from the Scurrilous era? It used to be on youtube but I can't find it now. I think it started with a U and was like 6 minutes? Anyone know what I'm talking about or do I sound crazy
Sans Fromage
@@ClotBlock yeah, someone found it for me the other week, thanks though!! it's incredible
THERE ISNT A VERSION OF THIS WITH VOCALS?
This would have been epic with rody on it
what about it
Wow this song sounds so damn similar to Between the Buried and Me-Selkies The Endless Obsession
Sorry I don't really agree
why the fuck isn't this on the actual album? who's decision was that...
WHERE DA LYRICS?
@protestthehero112233 dont forget moe
