I hope you take this video as a fun demonstration of two great speakers from different classes, and what each of these classes can offer. It's not supposed to be a direct rivalry since one is clearly much more expensive. When I started with Hifi, I always wondered if pricier gear is really that much better or if it's mostly marketing, but no magazine would ever compare devices of different classes. It's always "this is great for that price", but imagining differences between classes was somewhat difficult. So why am I doing this? Because I can and I believe it might be fun or even useful for some of you thinking "how much is enough" or "would I even hear the difference". Simply, I believe there is no such thing as bad knowledge.
iiWi Reviews very interesting comparison! They just sound different, not that one is way better! You can love fuller body sound by Kef, but I like the sound of QAcoustic - more airy mids and highs.
It's one year later: I have the KEF LS50 wireless (ver. 1), and picked up the 3030i's over the holidays (with a Blusound powernode). The 3030i's really give the KEFs a run for the money. Depending on how my aging ears are doing, some days I can't tolerate the BITE that the KEF's have, though I find the sound a bit "fuller in the midst. Generally, I don't recommend the KEF LS50 wireless (ver 1), because of the endless software glitches. For friends on a budget, I can highly recommend the Q Acoustics 3030i's. They've been a happy find (though be sure to use with grills OFF--otherwise the sound is too muddy).
Great Demonstration and well done, to my ears (62yrs) the kefs sound a little more airy and polished, the Q 3030i certainly don't disappoint and personally i would prefer but overall a good Demonstration of both speakers !

3030i is less bad. Cheap V-shaped "sound signature". Ideal " my first pair of speakers". Ls50 is worse, congested and bright, but on the other hand also more expensive ;) so great candidate for first and last pair for quite some time until the pain of the purchase is fully amortized and funds are freed for the next faux pas. Mostly studio monitors. JBL studio 530 are very good speakers, cheaper and better quality. All decent Dynaudios and Focals are better than these, but more expensive. Q Acoustic
That's not a fare comparison... it's like comparing a Mercedes to Hyundai
Disagree the Merc is way more expensive and its way more in talent,,,LS is not that great of a leap over the 3030i there definitely not 3x sounding better considering there 3x the price.....if you had said Merc Vs Chinese JAG I'd have agreed with you
Amazing. They both sound just like my speakers at home ;-D
Q acoustic is more fun to listen
3030 produce natural better quality sound perfect midrange and nice highs deep bass not booming overall better speakers than ls 50 y you compare it with kef 150 it's another history
KEF KEF KEF
At what, three times the price? I'd hope so!
@@MaterLacrymarum original ls50's sell for around £5-600 right now
@@hclandscapes SO around twice as much.
the kefs sound like the singer is in the room
Q acoustics more open and detailed
You should play Angel by Massive Attack then we can discuss ... 🙂
I always think the 50s sound very artificial and lack audio depth.
British marketing works!
Intrigued that your comment is negative against both speakers, may I ask what speakers you like or recommend ? Many thanks in advance !
Mostly studio monitors. JBL studio 530 are very good speakers, cheaper and better quality. All decent Dynaudios and Focals are better than these, but more expensive. If however you buy amplified versions considering the cost of a proper hifi amp, the price is comparable and the quality is of course is in a different league.
LS50 for me👍
No question here. Kef just outperforms in every possible way
compare plastic to wood - like the instruments are made of wood not from plastic, I believe natural sound is coming from wood is more real natural.
I don't like LS50s because they are bright sounding.
The 3030s are great, but they're not even close to the LS50.
The depth, clarity and separation of LS50 is at a whole new level.
Listening to this on LS50s that i just got from using Q 3020 for near field use with my PC.
I have the29... So, what the feel from one to the other ?
Kefs sound brighter
Kef
kef
Kef all nite long.
LS50 .. better
The kefs sound like a tin can..q accoustics all the way
3030is are way better
The ls50 are terrible speakers way too forward sounding tiring
QA sound lifeless
your microphone is not up to task , it's not good at all .
This is ridiculous as on a tv how can you do a comparison.
I used microphones and recorder that were just not good enough... That's why I stopped making these kind of videos - it was pointless.
I might restart these but with a much better equipment this time.
I don't know! They both kind of sounded like a samsung galaxy s21!
