Goodyear invited me to test out their brand new Eagle F1 Supersport tyre at Brands Hatch, I had one of the BMW M2 Competitions to use too! The Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit is amazing, I can recommend it to anyone!

Michelin PS4S driver here. I have just learned what difference tyres can make on my own M2. I drove it with the standard equipped, outdated Conti Sport Contact 3. It always felt tip top to me, grip in corners was OK and if I wanted I could lose traction in a very controlled manner at any time. It was much fun and I never really missed anything. Now I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and the amount of grip is absolutely mind blowing. To be honest, it's almost too much. The car feels like an AWD now. I realised, the difference to the Contis I had before is so immense. I still cannot believe it. Still, I do miss the old, imperfect Contis a bit. They made the M2 feel much more like a rear wheel driven muscle car.
I had 4s on my m3 and they gripped like a pit bull except when they let go, they let go fast !

Another great watch there Joe - Amazing to see the way the car handles when the tyres go beyond peak operating temps compared to normal. Looks like it's a great tyre though, especially when paired with the M2 Comp!
Always loved the tyre life on Goodyears. Got 20,000 hard miles out of my last set. Great video!

Great vid - seems that if you can get a bit more track time there you could do running commentary. I note that you didn’t say if you’d change from Michelin or not - tyre review on TH-cam said that those new GY were really good too.

Fantastic driving Joe. I'm curious to find out how these fair against Michelin PS4's. I'm looking at PS4's not PS4S because I'm car is on 18" wheels. Does the DCT box make you want to go back or are you more than happy with your manual?

It’s these videos that prove reliability myths are just that, myths, I have an M2 comp and as with AMG I had no doubt that these German masterpieces can be thrashed all day long with no problems but this video only reaffirms my views. Also, will be looking closely at these tyres for sure, lol.
With so much garbage on youtube it’s very refreshing that very informative material such as this is posted, thanks for sharing Joe.

So Eagle F1 or Michelin PSS? I find the Michelin PSS have no grip in wet, or cold road conditions. Do you think these could be a good compromise for both warm & cold conditions...I'm actually thinking of putting on Michelin Alpines for winter.
Seems the firm tyre wall Goodyear tall about is paying off. I think I'll go PS4S for street comfort and they out brake the f1s in the wet. If that stops an accident then that's what I value.

Christopher, how are you liking the the f1 supersports I've just put em on the mk2 rs so far I like em fantastic tyre but I've only done about 200 kilometres, how are they wearing so far,do they hold there grip still
@@adyg8221 holding really well. I've done a few track days as well as about 4k miles on them and there's still decent tread. In the wet they are amazing, the way they find grip is next level and they're very good in the dry too.

I’m having the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 currently, are those the predecessors to the Eagle F1 supersports or are the supersports a complete different ballgame Joe? 🤔

Joe could you compare this tyre with Michelin Pilot Super Sport, which one is more suitable BMW. I'm on 18" setup and there is no Michelin Pilot 4S available on European market. Michelin Pilot Super Sport can be ordered from BMW.
Wish I had the budget to do so mate. These are better than the PSS, but probably a bit behind the PS4S'S overall

Tyre wear looked nice and even. Unlike MPSS's which do their edges first.
Very even wear, keen to see what they're like on M lites as they really do eat outside edges
@@JoeAchilles1 That would be good to know. My M240 tyres are going to need replacing in 2000 miles. And these Goodyear's look like a great alternative. Also their noise levels would be nice to know. Do you have any idea of the db rating Joe?

*I installed these on my 91 Cherokee. They are amazing! 🚘🚖 **allabout.wiki/Eagle** I can drive over snow like it is dry pavement. Off roading over sand is completely effortless in 2wd. I only ever need to shift into 4hi if I get stuck which has only happened a couple times from spinning tires over sugar sand.*
