    The Chain was released in 1977, Wanted Dead or alive was released in 1986. Making Wanted dead or alive sounding like The Chain, not the other way around.

    The drummer Mick Fleetwood has to be proud of that performance.
    The bass part leading to the guitar buildup was used as the theme tune for many years for the British coverage of Formula One, used by the BBC.

    Such a huge rabbit hole that is Fleetwood Mac! Another one of their earlier songs is Tusk. You would love it! They recorded the original on a football field with the USC marching band accompanying them! There is also a live version (It might be from same concert we just watched?) And the whole frickin band comes on stage with them! You will get goosies!! 🥰❤

    To be fair, it should be said that Dead or Alive is like The Chain since Fleedwood Mac's creative talent came first ;) Love your reactions!

    It's quite the miracle that they actually managed to complete the Rumours album without killing eachother! This due to everything that went on within the band at that time. The members were like all cheating on eachother with eachother than add huge amounts of coke...

    • @ronhall5395
      @ronhall5395 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty sure the coke was a big contributor. I saw few interviews recently with Stevie. She indicated that she was sneak g around getting coke and Lindsey thought she was cheating on him, so he started cheating on her. That part is according to Lindsey. Just pretty messed up. Don't do drugs people.

    Lyndsay's guitar is a unique custom build six string electric acoustic.

    Splicing tapes with a razor blade may seem humorous today but it was standard practice until digital recording became available. Tapes were cut at a 45 degree slant with an EdiTall splicing block that held the tape slightly curved across the width. This kept enough tension that the cut was always clean and at that exact angle. That way, the cut end of one tape segment always exactly matched the cut start of another segment. This device was invented by Ed Tall lol. I read his memoirs Tall Tales about his career in the early days of tape recording. Interesting stuff.
    Love Fleetwood Mac, a really skilled and creative group. Loved your reaction. ⛓

    There isn't one bad song on Rumors. Not one. It's pretty much a perfect album. How such beautiful perfection was born of such disfunction in the band is a mystery.

      Same. Whenever they reunited (thank you, Clintons) I turned to my wife and we immediately made plans to see them again before the inevitable next breakup.

    The guitar is a Rick Turner Model 1 LBU, and is a small guitar with a big punch and will set you back around 7 grand if you can find one of these rare beasts.

    Performance from The Dance (1996)! Every song from it is fantastic. FYI, They broke up in the 80s from all the relationship issues but reformed for a few years to do The Dance and a new album, but broke up again. You can really see the love/hate between Stevie and Lindsey in Landslide and Silver Spring respectively. They are currently performing with most member except for Lindsey Buckingham.

    What wikipedia doesn't talk about is that at their heart, Fleetwood Mac is a "hippy group." For instance, the acoustic guitar and harmonies (there were LOTS of groups like that in the 1970's). And then, the oddities, like Stevie Nicks needing knee high boots and to speak with her crystals before recording. The hairstyles and clothing scream early 1970's. The only time I saw "Fleetwood Mac" it was Mick and five fill ins because the O.G. band members despised each other.

    You are going to love listening to them. My favorite band of all time.
    I’d recommend:
    Songbird
    Big Love (live from The Dance)
    Silver Spring (also from The Dance)
    Landslide (again from The Dance)
    Gypsy
    And this is old school FW, Albatross.

    There is a whole rabbit hole to climb in with Fleetwood Mac. From "the best white blues band in the world" to what they became, during their whole time of changing.
    Good one: they didn't play disco music! Ever. Unlike other artists, who did great music before that area.
    Fleetwood Mac continued in making their own music. Much appreciated, still today. Kinda timeless.
    While others have gone down the drain.
    I can still listen to this and like it soo much.

  • @t0dd000
    @t0dd000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here's some oddball trivia.
    The reason this performance exists is because the Clintons loved Fleetwood Mac and Bill used Don't Stop as a campaign song. Fleetwood Mac was broken up at the time. But Bill asked them to reunite for at least his inaugural. They did! And then they reunited for real and stayed together (more or less) and toured for another twenty years.
    They are still together today, but Lyndsay Buckingham has been replaced as of 2014.
    So ... in the end, regardless of your politics, Thank you Bill and Hillary Clinton for reuniting one of our great rock-n-roll bands.

    Oh Maggie, they're so fun, the two leads, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks used to love each other madly, then they absolutely HATED each other, and songs like this encompass their hatred of each other. even all those years later, if you watch Stevie, you can see the hateful looks she gives to Lindsey. So many songs they wrote had to do with the breakup of those two, and each would sing the hate out towards the other. It was more than an act, she finally said "It's him or me" and he had to leave the group.

    Lindsey Buckingham was the *true* talent that made Fleetwoood Mac great. Guess what? Guess who the "cancel culture" Fleetwood Mac "kicked out" of their band? Linsdey Buckingham, that's who. Doesn't matter to those who are left in the band, they are all rich and will die rich. But at least they will be "woke"!!!! Because, as we all know, music has nothing to do with music! It's all about POLITICS!

  • @craigwhip

    What's the point of doing a reaction if you're going to sing a different song over the original, and rewinding to redo a part you missed? Sorry, but, I don't like your so-called reactions.
