Disney's acquiring of Fox Kids is ALSO why Gadget And the Gadgetinis, a sequel series of Inspector Gadget, never aired in the US. Yeah, DiC made a proper sequel series alongside 2 spinoffs we DID get(Gadget Boy & Inspector Gadget's Field Trip). Disney being the reason doesn't surprise me considering I knew of the Gadgetinis show.

If Disney did choose to air Shin Chan, the only spot on the schedule I can think of would be during late-night Jetix.
Hi Yui. I’m from Canada & I have no personal recollection of Shin-chan airing here, however it would have been past my time so I might ask my mom if she remembers the show as she watched a lot of cartoons around that time. Saying that, I have a EVF request for the the show “Go Go itsutsugo land” & it’s mostly lost English dub. The reason I’m requesting this is that the English dub is only confirmed to have aired in New Zealand, however I remember watching the series in Canada on what I believe was Family channel. It’s driving me mad I can’t find any confirmation of the show airing there. Anyways, Thank you for reading my long comment.
itsutsugo land did air on family network as i remember circulating them via tape trading in my school but sadly i lost my recordings due to my father showing of a giant magnet he got when i was fixing a VHS tape
@@toastrave7820Wow! Thank you so much! It feels like I was the only one who remembered that show. In an odd way I think it helped me have a strong relationship with my sister since it showed good conflict resolution between siblings & working together, I’m honestly glad to have watched the series even though I barely remember it. Anyways, thank you so much for letting me know I’m not crazy for remembering this show on TV in Canada
I would love some western company to pick up the rights. There's a big possibility of GKIDS distributing the movies since they're technically owned by Toho now, and they distribute the movies in Japan, along with Doraemon films.
@@utzchannel018 They do? I thought that was only the spinoffs they produced? Prime Japan only seems to have certain episodes of the series for some odd reason.
Great video! Can you do English Version Files of Yo-Kai Watch? This includes the Sprite Animation Studios dub and the Toonami Asia dub. Fun fact: Whisper is voiced by Joey D'Auria, best known for portraying Bozo the Clown from The Bozo Show
As a Brit who watched our version of Fox Kids in the 90s and 2000s… I do remember seeing Shin Chan, but I think it got taken off air quickly due to low ratings. Or maybe some parents complained. Not sure. I think it was edited though because I remember watching Shin Chan in Spain on holiday as a kid and it was super popular over there.
Brian Lacey is a great guy. I think it's funny that he worked on the show America's Dumbest Criminals and also played a key role in the international syndication of Pokémon.
Yeah, here in Latin America the Spanish dub was based on the English version as they translated that opening song, it was on TV a lot, meanwhile in Spain they had their own dub translated directly from the Japanese
I am curious about what became of the Vitello dub in Canada, if anything. Lacey believes it aired there, but the Canadians viewing this video don't recall ever seeing it.
I honestly think the vitelo dub could've had success in the US. To me, the dub feels like toned down simpsons and wouldve complmented a US saturday morning block well.
If Disney actually did air Shin Chan in the USA, it probably would of aired on ABC Family alongside Tokyo Pig and Digimon which makes me think that there would have been A LOT of confusion over which Shin Chan dub americans remembered, Vitello or Funimation? Nice video 👍
I think Vitello Shin-Chan would've occupied a similar space as Ren and Stimpy; parents and watchdog groups hate it, but kids and counterculture college students adore it.
@@SobbleWobble13 There’s rumors of 94 episodes being dubbed for the first anime, which means it went up to the 5th season, but nothing is confirmed on that.

@@HalKozy This anime adaption spinoff series was dubbed by Studiopolis, Many Lilo & Stitch fans and Disney audiences hate this anime spinoff because of Lilo abandoned Stitch.
I would love to see Disney animation do a theatrical adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, which I think would work as a cartoon than a live-action one, Sailor Moon could have made a better choice too. I think Shin Chan should have just been on the adult block like The Simpsons not Fox Kids.
That really sucks, especially given how much better it was in comparison to the Funimation dub. (in my opinion at least) It has a perfect balance of faithfulness to the source material, but has newer jokes to balance it out so it doesn't totally fly over its target audience's heads. I really hope the dub gets an official rerelease one day, it really deserves it.
I kinda am really sad this didn’t happen a more friendly and faithful version of shin Chan on American television and don’t get me wrong i have nostalgia for the Funimation dub, but as i grow older the more and more i feel gross by watching it, especially by season 3, keep in mind Yoshito Usui died in 2009, Funimation did season 3 in 2010 not even a year after he died and they double down on nearly every single aspect of the localization the jokes becoming even more offensive, political, and in my honest opinion distasteful, now I don’t wanna jump to the conclusion Funimation knew he died and saw an opening to go nuts, although i think that’s entirely possible, and if so Jesus Christ, its not a good look, but they could’ve genuinely just not known, it’s even more delicate right after the mangaka passes, as it could imply to be a sharp departure then the legacy he left behind, but a dub like luk or Vitellos airing, i think that’s something he would have appreciated greatly although I don’t wanna speak on his behalf i never knew the guy, but I know he said shin Chan is the child he wished he was, that just makes my heart break more we never got a true faithful dub here, a dub of adult empire i think would be possibly the greatest things to happen anime in the west period, along with space battleship Yamato being licensed on blu ray, that film is up with spirited away, millineum actress and metropolis as one of the greatest anime films of 2001 and all time, lets hope we get more shin Chan stuff from amazon, although their lip syncing didn’t match at all for some strange reason.
I don’t think it would of done well at all, fox kids had the cramp twins and the allot of simeler stuff with shin Chan with un clean art and crude characters granted a bit more excessive than shin-Chan and it did not do well. Klasky Csupo struck gold with their timing, but shin-Chan wouldn’t have done well as a kids show state side
On the other hand, Shin Chan was topping Adult Swim's ratings until it got moved to a graveyard slot, causing the show to be removed from the lineup entirely in 2009 and the third and final season dropping on Hulu.
i can confirm it aired in Canada as i was the local tape trader as a kid. i don't remember the station but it was likely YTV or Teletoon as they often aired anime in their line up. i sadly lost my recording due to a big magnet
