Thank you again for yet more candid, sensitive content. I look back at my wedding and can easily say we should never have done it and there's no shame in that. I actually remember telling my now ex husband the night before that we should cancel and his reason for going ahead........ His mother had already cooked the sausage rolls! Haha I should have ran there and then.
I definitely think you deserve another wedding, a small event, beautiful photographs showing two people who are still learning about one another. Do it after the trek. The Himalayas would be an amazing back drop XX
Weddings are like a melting pot of so many different people that wouldn’t normally mix. It’s so hard not to be affected by others interference and squabbles, at these highly emotional events add to that too much booze and relatives you never usually see. I say buggar everyone else and remember all the special moments you shared and share to this day and most of all it was the day the lovely Nadia and Mark declared their devotion to each other....now that’s priceless. Don’t feel sad I say huge congratulations in being and staying married rather successfully 💕🕊 I adore these podcasts my little indulgence who needs chocolate lol 😘😘💕

You should definitely renew your vows/ have a special celebration, exactly as you want it, with exactly who you want there. I was down in Carbis bay last week and the hotel has a new wedding venue with panoramic views of the sea. Heaven. I can picture you all making your vows then running hand in hand over the sand roaring with laughter. 💛 Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves with us, it’s a real pleasure to watch. I think renewing your vows is a great idea! It's not to replace the wedding that went pear-shaped, but a wedding that truly reflects the marriage you have built together. The first wedding isn't something to be forgotten, you can consider it the first chapter in a very treasured book and the renewal is simply the sequel to your beautiful love story. When you married the first time you made the commitment, that was the point, and now you can celebrate the strength of that commitment. What you have accomplished and endured together deserves to be celebrated, and you deserve to have those beautiful wedding photos that are filled with smiles and treasured memories. This time, make it about what is really important to you. I cannot think of a couple more deserving of being celebrated!
I also wanted to add, I really admire how you respect other people's privacy, even when you probably have every right to speak out. Very classy, very thoughtful, and speaks so much to your character.
Fab HTSM. This helped me and my hubby reflect on our own wedding. We did plan ours and it was the best day of our lives. There were a couple of hiccups but nothing major. Thank you for showing us how to reflect on a important day. 😘

I went to gretna green because I didn't want any fuss. But then felt guilty so had a party. Party was shit. Everyone was awful and it made me glad I'd gone away. X
On my second marriage- got married the first time at 19 as I was pregnant and my bf at the time was Australian- we didn’t even stay under the same roof. Second marriage at 43 although I was with my hubby for 4 years prior. I’m his second marriage as well. It will be seven years in October and I have 2 adult stepdaughters as well. I loved my wedding day but marriage is hard work. I think a good sense of humor, separate beds ( hubby snores), separate accounts, separate bathrooms and lots of space- it is working. We have had our share of horrible fights but we keep working on us. I think the most important thing in marriage is respect, understanding and commitment. You have to BOTH be committed for it to work- can’t be just one of you.
You're funny, dignified, respectful and honest - without publicly flaming those who cast a shadow over your wedding day. I'm sure there are many people who will relate to this conversation. Bless you guys. You create some really fabulous content. xxx

At least you both have worked at your marriage and have gone from strength to strength. Good on you both!
My husband and I were together for 4 years before we got married in 1989. It was a beautiful day and I was so happy and in love. We had a wedding video and a lovely album of professional photos. There were no dramas.....it was such a lovely day and it all went so smoothly. Fast forward to Christmas 2000 and my husband went off with a younger woman he’d been having an affair with, leaving me with 2 little boys aged 6 and 7 and a newborn baby girl. I was devastated and couldn’t even look at my photos or video for a number of years without crying. Nowadays I can look through through the album occasionally and it doesn’t upset me the same way it did. Although it does make me a bit wistful and a little sad that things went so wrong. I think it’s the sense of failure more than anything. Anyhow, it’s all good now......my kiddies are grown up and I’m quite content. You should renew your vows and just have the people there who mean the most to you. You’ve come through so much together, it’s worth celebrating. Thanks for sharing. X

I don't remember much about our wedding day as it was so stressful & went by so fast. I was walked down the aisle by my (now late) brother to Billy Idol's White Wedding - I remember the shocked faces on our guests 😂. We have a framed wedding photo with our 'guest book' comments written on the mount frame & not one of our guests (other than close family) is a part of our life now because we went on to have a child. We look at it as... Their loss.

I’ve been married 37 years & i think if i could tell my 22 year old self one thing it would be take my time walking down the aisle, because i can only remember seeing one person as i felt like i rushed.Also like yourselves I’d have researched for a better photographer rather than the one we had, that’s not saying most were lovely.You were honest & i love this in you because you wear your hearts on your sleeves.To me it doesn’t sound depressing it’s just the both of you expressing your different outlooks.Yes in Cornwall on the beach at sunset with close family & friends sounds amazing then go on an adventure in a camper van as you have wanted to do that .You are a beautiful couple may your marriage be blessed more& more in the years to come 🙏🏻💕

Omg i feel depressed now too ! Brought back memories of our wedding in 87. When i got to the alter in my lovely dress and the natural beauty a 22 yr old has, all my husband to be said was " Iv'e put the washing on the radiator " (we were living together ) I absolutely have never forgot that and also what really miffed me was, after saying i didn't need new shoes for the wedding ,he went out and bought a brand new pair for himself on the morning of our wedding . We were so young , when i see the wedding video my hubby ( also called Maaark) looked so miserable and ,well just confused, lol . But i have always said a wedding is just one day, it's how you love each other the rest of the days that count . And we have tried everyday since and made it so far ❤ He's not at all romantic but he's a good man and i love him warts and all.

One of my favourite podcasts - happy memories outweigh the bad I hope. I think me and my husband are going to sit and talk about our day now - wonder how we both view it now - we also had a family member who ruined part of the day - stood up and said her piece during our speeches. Then continued to ruin the memory after the honeymoon. Devastated me at the time but you know what - 20 years married now and stronger than ever x

This is so strange ive just finished driving my son to his football training came back and put this on...we drove past where me an his dad had our wedding reception, havent seen it in 21years... and it made me so sad... we divorced a few years ago and its still very hurtful and always will be but also i saw my sister there and she couldn’t be at the wedding things were very tense (not sure if thats the right word - it put distance between us).... but i had married this wonderful man (so. I thought) and i wanted her to be happy for me ... me and my sister are now best friends as we both have had divorces since and understand each other a lot better now but we went through many years of not talking first .... family’s and weddings eh??

Weddings are the ultimate joy and sadness in one day. I got married on a extremely hot January day in Australia 46 degrees centigrade, 110f in 1991. We had a double wedding with my husbands sister who came over from England with her now ex and we had only 36 people. My Mum gave the two brides away. The cake melted which was hilarious and we all got drunk.

You should renew your vows surrounded by only love with LOVED ones. Its your day and make it however you want. Sometimes you just have to please yourselves, just how you want. We're a long time dead as my dad always said x
I also look back at my wedding with a hint of sadness 😔 I have been with my husband for 11 years and have been married for 7 years in August. There were a few ‘issues’ with family members on the day - over food and photos of all things 🙄
Anyway, 3 days after the wedding the family member wrote me a letter and it was addressed to ‘Mrs Shaylor’ I remember being all excited that it was my first Mrs post - I opened it and it was a hurtful letter of all the issues and problems they had about my wedding day. I was so upset and even now when I think about my wedding the first thought I have is sobbing into that letter 💔

Loved our Wedding... decided before it to just have a happy day and go with the flow... so many of my friends got rigid about what they wanted and upset people to get it!!...we were young and full of hope ... I miss that optimism in older age 🤪 Love the sound of your Wedding as it was a moment in time and reflected that!! Sounded fun and mad at the same time!!
So love you guys it cheered me up cause our wedding had disasters too many of them having to find a new venue 2 days to getting married people falling out and then half the guests not turning up to the evening and the photographer deciding on the day she was only going to take photos to only half the day so had none of the evening I can stop crying about it now cause you made ours not that bad 😭🤣 but we are so happily marred and have to look past it we have each other xxx

I definitely think you should renew your vows. Do it just the way you want, where you want. It won't remove all those bad memories/feelings from the first go round but it will give you a whole new set to look back on. Plus you will have the people there that you know truly love you and want nothing but the best. Use it as a time to celebrate each other and the wonderful love story you have. Do it sooner than later. Your children are growing up and its harder to get everyone together at the same time, plus your parents are getting older. I know you want them there to celebrate with you! Go for it!

Agree just take your family and go to Cornwall and have a lovely celebration. Get a photographer to get some amazing pictures on the beach. Have fun choosing outfits and food and hotel and flowers. You've obviously come a long way since then. I've never had a wedding but been to loads none are perfect there's always some tension....it's a marriage not a day but you deserve a celebratory day xx

Hi I think it's a brilliant idea to renew your vows, it gives you chance to reaffirm your love for one another as you have both been through a lot together, and you are a lovely couple. My husband and I renewed our vows nine years ago when my husband first became ill. And of course as you know he died last October. But the only thing is you will have to remember two dates if you do lol xxxxx
