Pretty amazing cinematography - I'm only 26 years old and have sailed on Explorer 3 times, and going on Splendor early 2024 for a 15 night cruise. This video is very accurate to the experience i've had with Regent. Its the best of the best. I've subscribed :)
I was by far the youngest couple onboard the ship, with the other guests maybe being in their mid to late 40s for the youngest i've seen onboard. There were a few well behaved children onboard, but we stood out by being the youngest couple. We usually book (at bare minimum) Penthouse C cabins to enjoy the larger room and having a personal butler is a great touch. I've sailed Royal Caribbean since i'm about 5 years old and thats really the only cruise line i've ever experienced because I loved the megaship concept. We then experimented with mid-luxury lines like "The Haven" on NCL, "Yacht Club" on MSC, and "The Retreat" on Celebrity. I found that for the money we were spending on mid luxury cruises, it almost came out to the same cost of a Regent cruise with first class airfare and drink packages, wifi, ect. The level of service provided was good, and food was great on mid luxury, but there was so much nickel and diming, and to feel really secluded, you kinda have to stay in the "ship within a ship" concept. We decided to try Regent for our Honeymoon and it completely changed our perspective of cruising. We were able to secure a good deal during "covid" for a penthouse C suite on the Explorer and i'm never going to turn back. The level of service, food quality, and how quiet the ship was really gave me a good sense of relaxation and luxury. The Serene spa was so outstanding and relaxing, I had 2 massages per day. Excessive I know, but with our generous onboard credit allowance, it got eaten up quickly LOL!!!! While we were the youngest onboard, it didn't bother us whatsoever. All the guests onboard were lovely - polite and respectful! It was amazing to see a nice and quiet pool deck without blaring music. I will likely try other ultra luxury lines like seabourn and maybe Silverseas in the future, but with Regent coming out with yet another new ship later this year, i might just be sticking with Regent moving forward. I'm sailing on Explorer next week for Alaska, and Splendor early 2024 for a Mediterranean sailing. I also plan on booking a few more regent cruises for 2025 and 2026. If you need any more info please let me know! Happy sailing.
@@MatthewBoro wow thanks for sharing your knowledge. I usually travel with hotel brands like Aman, Rosewood, FS etc, but never had a cruise. What do you think will be the perfect cruise for a first timer like me? I'm 39 years old and have a small daughter.
You do the BEST cruise videos on the internet! Hands down. No contest. Even better than Danny Harr. I look forward to future videos. But…don’t change a thing! You can’t improve on perfection.
I highly recommend the Superior suite, as the best bang-for-the-buck. King size bed, separate tub and shower, double vanity, walk-in closet. And if you have money to burn, you certainly won't be disappointed in any of the fancier suites either.
Hi Richard and Helen, I was totally enraptured by your discovery of the spaces on this magnificent craft. Being a confirmed cruiser, I had to replay your great video to the spot where you Richard mentioned 750 fellow passengers.... curious as we saw few if any in you excellent presentation. Having had the advantage of expedition cruises and a Silversea craft with only 75% occupation, can I ask how you and Helen enjoyed the cruise with full occupation of all approx. 350+ suites? Love your stuff, keep posting please?
This ship has the most space per passenger of any other ship we’ve sailed on and it felt like it. Never any problem finding a seat and plenty of quiet spaces to retreat to. We always strive to film the ship with few or no passengers in it as we like the ship to speak for itself (as well as respecting other guests privacy while they’re on vacation). So while there were more passengers than you see on our video the ship handled them very well and it never felt crowded. The only exception to this is maybe in the speciality dining venues where you definitely need to book in advance as they did fill up. Thanks for watching, commenting and following along 👍
Every single space on here is stunning, but that top deck area is something else. Also, fantastic to see that at this price point, people aren't running out to hog those loungers, ha! Great video as always, guys!
Hi Rich and Helen, somehow I stumbled onto your video and I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed your commentary, your voice is very easy to listen to. The ship looks absolutely stunning. It's on my bucket list now! Regards Erika from sunny Perth Australia 🇦🇺

I've sailed on Splendor twice now. Very nice experience. Great cocktails, great staff, wonderful gym, all-inclusive pricing. While the food is excellent and probably the best on a cruise ship, it's still doesn't compare to your best local, independent foodie restaurant. Also, Regents is no place for kids or the younger party crowd--there's just not enough to do. Passengers are mostly retired/almost retired empty nester couples, upper middle-class to wealthy, primarily Americans and some British too. Average age is about 60. Newest ship, Grandeur, sails starting Nov. 2023.

This video seems like a Regent promotion. I’m guessing you were paid via a free cruise, in exchange for shamefully positive review. We need to hear the bad along with the good. Yes I’ve sailed Regent, they are not perfect, by a long shot.
This is a ship tour video not an experience review therefore we didn’t really give an opinion on anything, rather just showed you around the ship. Thank you for thinking it’s professional enough to be promotional material but rest assured that while Regent did comp our stay they had no control over our content and did not pay us in any other way.
