    Might think of using a piece of a Walmart plastic cutting board on that leading edge of the bed as a wear strip to save the winch cable. Bolt it in so it is easily replaceable. Very nice trailer. A cubic yard of dirt is around a ton and it looks like you could heap a yard and a half easily into the trailer--be careful who you loan it to!! Lol!

    Steve, if you remove all but the first layer of cable you can get a lot more pulling power from the winch and have a bunch of new cable leftover for other projects!

    Maybe tack and check all your clearances before welding in place , maybe a bit of angle at the back of the winch tower for extra strength, as you said you potentially have a great load on the winch tower , every weld a re weld looses strength, just a thought , that said a great trailer 👍👍

    I waited til the end and was going to mention the trans duty rating concern and right at the end took that joy away from me! LOL, ya big meanie! Oh well, being green like it is when the rider trans explodes you can run out and buy a JD garden tractor or even a sub-compact to handle a heaping helping of damp topsoil or whatever up and down the hills. Next project a garden tractor DIY loader build? :) Better plan some time for estate sales and such to find project implements.

    • @StephenOgle
      @StephenOgle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and, How right you are! The transaxle in this mower has always been a concern and it does use belts occasionally when I load it a little too heavy. I have been looking into garden tractors for a while now, but this cheap lawnmower just simply refuses to give up the ghost. LOL!! Thanks for commenting and take care.

    That's one beefy trailer. Now you have the excuse to get a small tractor, you need one to fully utilize the new trailers potential. My wife would never fall for that and yours probably wouldn't either, but you may get lucky and catch her on an off day, lol.

    I was told when i built my lift trailer that a Single pulley only changes direction?? not doubling the 2500??

    • @StephenOgle
      @StephenOgle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you brought that up. A stationary pulley (at the anchor point) will only change direction and will add no mech advantage. A moving pulley/s attached to the load will multiply the input force by the number of cable strands incoming and outgoing. One pulley has two cables (in and out) therefore doubling your input force. Just like a block and tackle. You are trading distance for power such as here you pull 2 feet of cable to move the load 1 foot but with twice the force. Hope this helps. Take care.
