Tone arm cradle is improved U shape which will hold the arm even if you knock it, unlike the crescent moon shape on mine which is not very secure. Nice product.

it has recessed cavity for label that needs to be covered by a felt mat... how does it work?
The felt mat is very soft, and molds easily around the small change of depth created by the lable
I didn't think a mat was needed with this type of platter?
It is optional, depending on the weight of the pressing
