This is hands down the best review of Beauty of Joseon products. I've heard them hyped so much but didn't have enough info to make informed decisions before purchasing. This is a wonderful and concise review of ingredients. Thank you!

First and foremost, thank you very much for this extensive video. Yes please, these types of videos are the best. You have empowered us and saved both our skin and money. I no longer buy products blindly. You are so much appreciated and loved, Dr. V❤.
The Dynasty cream actually has a little spatula you can use so you don’t have to dip your fingers into it. When you opened the package on this video, it must have thrown the spatula to one side because I can see the spatula on your table.
I love that you’re not snarky and condescending like most other dermatologists on TH-cam. Can you please cover something on chicken skin under eyes and large pores?
Thank you so much! This helps me a lot as a small beauty business owner with Mary Kay. I’m actually a cello and piano teacher by day and love diving into skincare on the side. I really enjoy how you explain each ingredient! You're such a beautiful and knowledgeable teacher. I’d love to see your review of the Mary Kay TimeWise Repair set, TimeWise set, and Clinical Solutions boosters. Thank you in advance! 😊
I love this brand and used all their products so far. My favourites were the Cleansing Balm, Red bean mask, Glow Replenishing Rice Milk, Deep glow serum with arbutin, Propolis serum, Dynasty cream, both of the sunscreens and sunstick, and the vitamin c cream in the green tube. I am using the rice and honey mask at the moment as well, it's ok but I don't really like the smell. I quite liked the sheet masks too. I find that BoJ make great quality products.
I think for green plum refreshing toner, it’s still ok to use it as long as it’s not twice a a day. You can only use it at night or maybe 2 or 3x a week cuz it’s not even a strong ingredient, the glycolic for sure is not over 5% which Dr. V recommended. Don’t just say “I don’t recommend” just because it says use twice a day in the instructions. You can always adjust to it.
Why are you acting like you’ve never reviewed the sun relief spf 50 before.?!! You reviewed it a year ago, and said you approved. And now you don’t .? You have reviewed a few of these products before. The alpha arbutin, the ginseng toner. The contradictions in your videos/reviews are not exactly assuring.
Yeah. Now I’m sitting here questioning my skincare choices. My last purchase I got 2 tubes of this to just stock up and now this video pops up. I guess I have to see which physical Korean sunscreen is being recommended over this one now, for when I finally run out. 😫 I wish the reviews weren’t so opposite and she acknowledged that the previous review changed due to whatever new data or something. “I love it”, to “I wouldn’t recommend it”, is a big change.
Love love love these type of videos you make. Keep doing these please. These are brilliant. You’ve given so much clarity for this brand. Kindly do so for the other Korean products/brands. ❤❤❤
Please, continue to make this style of videos. I learn more about the products this way. Thank you so much. Very few people address skin of colour concerns.
I prefer this type of review. It's nice to be able to see the product, especially the cleansers that didn't really cleanse. I actually just bought their Ginseng Essence water a few days ago, going to try it out.
This is a better format, I vote for buying the products. Imagine just seeing the good ingredients on the oil cleansers in this video, but they weren't really effective in removing makeup.
Thank you for this. I like how you explained all the products of this line. I don’t think you need to spend all that money and just show the picture the products and maybe videos of others using it to show the consistency of product at most. I come here to be informed and educated so just watching you talk is great
Thank you DR V you saved my skin I struggle with acne for as long as I can remember. I share your contents religiously. Thank you so much for looking out for skin of color you are the best💕.
I love this format! By each product please. I found this video extremely helpful! I want to incorporate Korean skincare in my regular routine. This was very informative!!
I don’t think you need to buy everything. It is alot of money and lots of product being chucked away for our benefit. The information is of paramount value to us. So for me, although these interactive videos are fun, I’m more than happy to see you do it the old way. That is also super fun because of your personality and honesty. 😆 Dr. V, you’re so generous.
The cream is also available in a tube. I use the green tea serum every day, and it has saved my skin, that together with the ginseng essence and the ginseng serum.
Dr. V, I love this video. Loved seeing you open the products and explain the smell, consistency, etc. But whether you have the product in front of you or not, I would still watch for the information you provide.
loved this video. Please do more Korean skincare reviews like this. Some Korean skincare reviews I'd like to see are: Skin1004, Numbuzin, Isntree, Celimax, Haruharu Wonder, Axis-Y, Purito Seoul, Innisfree, Some By Mi, Cosrx, Rovectin, By Wishtrend, Mixsoon, S.Nature, Abib, Dr Althea, Aestura, Jumiso, VT, Rohto Mentholatum (Japanese skincare), Roundlab, Dr.G, Medicube, Mediheal, I'm From, Pyunkang Yul, Laneige.
I have rosacea and hyperpigmentation (my skin is not brown but it hyperpigments easily). The serums are really good! I tried the calming serum, the glow serum, and the rice serum. Didn't see any improvement in my pigmentation but no irritation, huge improvement in rosacea and a nice glow. For my stubborn pigmentation the only thing that has worked so far is hidroquinone.
DR. V. I love your non sponsored honest reviews. Yes you have high standards for skin of family which i love. A suggestion maybe at the end of the video? Whytheir formulas could be made in a different way due to the climate or demographic population they cater to?
This is the role of the company itself. If she was a paid consultant it would make sense, but not in this case. She is already doing a lot for their R&D team.
I’m confused now. I have a video of yours during Oct’23 where you reviewed this Sunscreen and recommended and now it’s not recommended I’m not sure what’s happening

I'm so excited. I have been waiting for you you to review this brand. Its one of my favorite brands. I love the review. I mostly enjoy their Ginseng line.
Dr V you have killed it with this one, it brings an accurate and genuine view of the brand and its entire range of products, ( beyond the social media viral hype) please dont stop next should be cosrx and anua and then also indian brands please
Please keep purchasing the products. It’s great to see your review on the texture, packaging, etc. Can you please do an updated video on Naturium products.
I use a little spoon to scoop product out of jars. The little scoops Sephora supplies are good. I save them after sampling things there. I also save tiny gelato spoons. An excuse to eat gelato! I do it as much to avoid product under my finger nail as for hygiene.
Korean! I'd love a video of Korean skincare daily morning/evening routine for dry/oily skin. Would be happy to mix the Korean brands. Plus I'm over 40...
Thanks for your reviews! You don't need to buy products, it works if you just review the ingredients and give your recommendation. On a separate note, can you please review home micro infusion systems?
Awesome video.. thank you for the information! Much needed! Already using the sunscreen and green plum cleanser. Will consider the serums too ❤ please be gentle on the packaging. Painful to see as you must’ve spent so much on the products. Or it might just be my OCD😬
Thank you Dr V for the product knowledge. The way you explain the ingredients helps us to understand its just amazing❤ well well i want to know which eyeliner you are using😮😊
Just want to note with the first up product, Dynasty Cream, which Vanita commented on unhygienic dipping into the jar, she dropped the spatula that comes with the product as she unboxed. So they did think of hygiene (does rely of people washing the spatula between use). Also, although not an airless pump, there is a twice the size tube (100ml) so no dipping required, and ends up more economic per mil. If she finds a random small clear plastic spatula on the floor, that’s what it’s from. You can see it falling in the video. The spatula is a nice size for the amount of product needed and holding onto for getting to the bottom of the jar without sticking you hand in it, so too long for under the screw lid and on top of the plastic lid that just sits on the jar lip. So kinda had to sit loose in the box unless they invested in some specialty attachment. Also the ginseng retinal eye cream packaging, even though she didn’t comment on it, looks like the mini (half size freebies you get with purchase) rather than the 30ml tube pump. It’s the same kind of tube pump as the centella vitamin C serum, just a different colour. I got a vit C half size freebie and it lasted quite a while. Wasn’t irritating at all and I’m someone who has avoided skin care most of my life because of irritation. BTW, the tube pump isn’t a straw pump, the tube shrinks down as product is used, but does appear to rely on storing the product upright to product seal it as I suspect if it lay on the side and settled, it would allow air in. There is perhaps a little air that gets in, so not completely vacuum sealed. I also think there is problem with dismissing a sunscreen because it has a particular blocker that isn’t FDA approved. That’s more to do with incentives to try to get ingredients approved by FDA, who is going to put up the money to run the safety protocols to push an ingredient through. K beauty products have a big enough market they don’t need to tackle one countries approval process. I’ve heard the poor formulation of American sunscreens has a lot to do with the limited range of blockers approved and the low impetus due to the cost for companies to push newer blockers through the FDA process. Globally it makes the US quite hobbled in sunscreens. So unless FDA approval was sought and refused on safety grounds, it’s a pretty meaningless statement to say something isn’t FDA approved. FDA isn’t the be all and end all in a global setting, just one country’s cumbersome process which serves to gate keep as such. Americans seem obsessed with the FDA, the rest of the world, not so much, unless you make inflammatory comments like “not FDA approved” in a way that infers it was tested and failed. Still, the Sun Relief is the nicest sunscreen I have ever used, and I would not put a western sunscreen on my face again until they seriously upped their game. I’ve suffered huge amount of sun damage because of how awful all the sunscreens available were (and I’m not financially in the market for La Roche Posey which is the one people have good things to say about western sunscreens) and just couldn’t bring myself to reapply Western sunscreens as well as only using in extreme situations. And I’ve heard, the best sunscreen is the one you are willing to wear. I’ll try other Korean sunscreens, most will probably have blockers that haven’t been put before the FDA, and frankly I don’t care, some day the FDA will catch up (or not, to one nation’s detriment), and in the interim I’ll have saved myself from more sun damage. Other countries have regulatory processes as well. My understanding from BOJ website is they have removed the essential oils and niacinamide from the sun serum sunscreen to better suit sensitive skin. So if you are smelling fragrance and reading essential oils this will be the old version, no bitter orange (or all the other essential oils) in the current formulation. Still has alcohol in it as the 7th ingredient. I’ll still try this to see if it’s even lighter and nicer to wear than the Sun Relief. And the peeling gel, where you said you felt beads also isn’t a fair assessment given it’s cellulose which bunches up into fibres. Somewhat different from beads which brings to mind micro-plastics a harsh abrasives like ground apricot pits, which this is not. Never tried the product but I’ve seen enough other reviewers by people who took the time explain how it works and what it is not. For the folk who like a cellulose peeling gel, many of them being ethnically Korean and as such people with skin of colour (I tan, heavily, and hyperpigment), saying it feels like it has beads is a pretty wrong representation. I’m unlikely to use this product because my issues are hyperpigmentation and milia and I’m so menopausal that dewy glass skin is not really in my objectives, but rather basic ageing. Feels like this was a slap dash sloppy assessment of the range of products because you had too many products to run through. Not a good format. And not everyone wears waterproof eyeliner like you do, so maybe more realistic types of makeup for removal alongside your crazy stubborn eyeliner would have been a fairer gauge of cleanser removing power. Good that you showcased the cleanser against something that extreme, but really, how about people who just want to remove normal eyeliner, lipstick, foundation and concealer. Those are the basics you should be able to show, as well as the stuff that is designed to be unbudgeable. I rarely wear make up and usually just a cc cream to even out my hyperpigmentation, occasionally I’ll go for for more, but in the past when I’ve bought long wear products, I’ve bought the companion remover too. It comes across as a severe kind of bias that’s designed to fail products, which along with the sloppy reviewing compounds a sense of biased reviewing.
I really like all your videos but I prefer you review only the good products to our skin of colours… so that we can save time and easy for us to choice …. thank you for your hard works , love so much ❤❤❤❤

I have been using the revive eye serum and the ginseng essence water for a few months, quite like the results. I am disappointed with the relief sun SPF50 review as I was also using it the last couple of months, hopefully sun damage to my skin is minimal (fingers crossed). Now, I have ordered the sheet masks and honey glow mask for my sister and myself. Dr V, this style of video with you using the products and giving constructive critique is really informative and I believe the majority of your viewers will also agree with me. Please keep up your good work. :)

Hi Dr, cosmetic tocicologist from Dubai here. PA ++++ just means that the PPD rating is above 16. There are sunscreens with PPD rating of 22 such as the Altruist brand and they still are labelled as PA ++++. It's unfair to claim that you would expect the highest UVA protection from Beauty of Joseon's sunscreen based on 1 filter's highest UVA peak to be 354nm when the overall formulation has a PA rating of ++++. No chemical filters have a peak absorption at 400nm. Are you implying that in that case, ALL chemical sunscreens are unsuitable for skin of colour? This was so helpful! Yes, buy the products please.
Plz make an updated video on layering of actives for melasma 😊
Korean!! Loved this video so much!
Thanks for your reviews! You don't need to buy products, it works if you just review the ingredients and give your recommendation. On a separate note, can you please review home micro infusion systems?
The ginseng toner, my fave product of theirs!
Thank you Dr. V!
Love this kind of videos. As i tend just to use one brand for the whole routines. Do Biossance next please!
On my to do list x
Hey Dr V, love such videos. More videos on Korean skincare and if possible please include brand Numbuzin and Tirtir 💜💜
Absolutely
Awesome video.. thank you for the information! Much needed! Already using the sunscreen and green plum cleanser. Will consider the serums too ❤ please be gentle on the packaging. Painful to see as you must’ve spent so much on the products. Or it might just be my OCD😬
Skincare for 60+ skin. Please please…my age group really needs some advice on suitable products. ❤
100% I'm on it! X
@@vanitarattanThank you Dr. V… that will truly be a gift from heaven. 😇❤

Amazing video. I like it better when you buy the product
She didn't review the eye cream, did she?
