    It's a matter of personal taste, but I am one of those who like this car a lot! This facelift gave it small details to be become even better. Well done VW!

    "Thank you VW for paying for my holiday in Italy sorry I meant inviting me to test drive this amazing car. Now let me make an unbiased video of what you - sorry I meant I - think about it"

    A great review! I love my Up! It's the best supermini on the market.

    Looks marginally better than the pre-2016 versions. But please specify that the "quality" attributes you mention all over the video refers only to the perceived quality (e.g. tactile).
    Just drove a 2012 car and while the perceived quality still looked good, the reliability didn't. Too much steering play and the well-known gearbox problem: going to reverse gear with a big grinding noise. Not sure they fixed their gearbox problem with the 2016 model.

    Great car, had the previous one as my first. I've now got a new polo, upgraded because the 1L felt too slow on the motorway. If you don't use motorways so often, this car is a great choice!

    Won't you get in trouble in UK if caught using phone as infotainment screen? Does it not count as using your phone while driving?

    Great review thank you!

    My experience with a tsi engine so far:
    After 5000km this engine- when running iddle -started shaking.
    Engine misfires - according to VAG that is a normal behaviour for the TSI engines.
    ( Why the engine didn't have that problem the first 5000 km, remains a mystery).
    So expect this to happen at any time.
    My collegues car ( french make, also direct-injection petrol engine) which cost half the price,
    runs smoother. She makes fun of me, but in Germany they call this "Vorsprung durch Technik".

    Have they sorted out the nightmarish and jerky auto gearbox ?

    • @tadhgcomhaltas
      @tadhgcomhaltas 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I drive the Up! ASG and it isn't jerky at all... You just have to adopt a leisurely pace of driving... If you are used to driving autos then it's absolutely fine... Problems occur when you try and drive it like a manual

      Northern Italy. Take a look at 3:17 - the town they enter is called Lenno. Some parts also seem to be filmed inside Milan, roughly 60km south of Lenno.

    I would rather get the honda jazz in this class , way cheaper, practical , reliable, economic and doesn't break down. VWs are ridiculously priced

    • @Jedimaster36091
      @Jedimaster36091 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      How old is your Up! Joel? Most of the owners reviews you can read on the internet are from customers who have had the car less than a year and most of them bought theirs new. So of course, I would expect nothing less than 5 stars reviews. But I would be interested to get more feedback from owners of 3+ years old cars. This is the true reliability mark of a car.

    • @Jedimaster36091
      @Jedimaster36091 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jazz is not in the same category as Up!. Jazz is in Mini class, while Up is in City (one lower category). Also the prices do not compare. The Jazz is way more expensive than an Up (14000 EUR vs 11000 EUR).

    • @Jedimaster36091
      @Jedimaster36091 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your feedback. Looking into getting a used city car and Up is on my search list, with the Toyota Aygo and Hyundai i10 as alternatives (although the i10 was not imported here so far).

      I Have a 2012 Up and I have experienced one problem and one problem only. The front radar came loose from the windshield and the entire windshield then had to be replaced to get the radar working again. VW paid for it.

  • @alex9621
    @alex9621 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This is 100% sponsored by VW, nobody will find so many good things to say about any car, much less about an UP...

    Very boring for a city car. Fiat and PSA are much nicer. New C3 is class above, but for me that is new city car benchmark.

    • @tadhgcomhaltas
      @tadhgcomhaltas 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fiat is nicer?! Lol no it isn't!!! And a C3?! No comparison with the Up! It beats the c3 hands down in EVERY area

    • @g00dfeeling
      @g00dfeeling 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Up cannot beat anything. Its just too expensive and very boring city car.

    • @tadhgcomhaltas
      @tadhgcomhaltas 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +g00dfeeling I suggest you get behind the wheel and try it... By the way it is the 2016 What Car Car Of The Year... Boring? We think not
