This was actually a amazing play through. Even in a loss it’s a great story. You guys were about to escape the dungeon, but after all that you were swallowed buy darkness and lost forever. The story created through cards is why I love this game.
Hey I just want to note that you're supposed to flip the campaign card over during setup, and on the back of it it says that you rescue Mendor as soon as you claim your first objective card. So you should have gotten him as soon as you advanced to stage 2. Other than that, I love your series and I love how you don't spend a lot of time talking and get straight into the action!

Good effort! I'm never playing this quest true solo again though :p It is feasable on easy + campaign cards boons but you still need luck and I don't find it fun.
@@DaletheCasualGamer well I only have the dark of mirkwood pack and the 2 quests in it are really good. Normal difficulty :) waiting on the angmar campaign, I've heard good things about it.
Ouch, that's a tough one. It's possible that delaying Unexpected Courage for a turn to play the second Gandalf to reduce threat might have helped, but it's hard to say.
It looks like you missed drawing a card at the start of a couple of rounds (round 1 and at least 1 other) which could have made a difference, maybe Galadrim's Greetings would have shown up to save you. Also, as a general tip, if the quest doesn't have a mechanic to force you to rush, it's usually best to stay on a stage (like stage 1 here) to build up a board state before advancing. You were in complete control of the board with just Aragorn and Eowyn when you advanced to quest card 2 so no need to rush to get Theodred and Mendor. You could have sent a little less to the quest (just enough to not raise threat) for another couple of rounds to get more allies in play. This "turtling" strategy is so strong that almost all later cycles introduce mechanisms that force you to make progress.

I like that this quest is much more doable with the campaign modifications! It was nearly impossible solo before.

It's just like Marvel Champions in regards to, if it was easy and you never lost it wouldn't be nearly as much fun 😆.

this scenario is hell, i tried it six times, two times one handed and four times double handed, but died becouse of threat and / or damage :)
The fellowship didn't stand a chance with me at the helm! :)

I use clear matte Dragon Shield sleeves. Love the way they feel. :)

Definitely Marvel Champions. If I was more into a story based game, I could see Arkham Horror jumping up ... but I do prefer one-shot plays. :)

nope in campaign number 3 that is no longer a way to lose the game
