    Thank You!!! You are the first youtuber that I have seen who actually talks about routing cables and power. Everyone else just glosses over cable management for Sim Rigs

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I was lucky that my initial (poor) cable management didn’t give me any issues but I read quite a bit on fanatec forums when I had their gear, about electrical interference causing problems and just re-routing power cables away from data cables solved most issues for folks

    Thanks for going a bit more into the weeds than some of the other videos. It would be helpful to know which muscle groups you want to engage. For steering I like to almost feel like I'm doing pushups (extending the arm) to turn the wheel, feeling the weight of the car in the hand/arm on the top of the wheel. If I get things right I can feel the connection from the seat through my shoulder all the way up through my arm to the wheel and it's almost like I feel weight transfer with my pectoral muscles. If I get it slightly off I feel the lactic acid building up in my biceps or the front or back of my shoulder. It's hard to find any information on this and I have no idea how much variation there is in this. Same questions for braking as well. Do you use the ball of your foot (engaging the calf), or push more with the heel (freeing up the calf for more nuanced modulation)?

      Yeah it's worth investing the time and being open to adjusting in a bit over the first month to dial the position in. The steering wheel height and distance I found to be the most impactful in terms of upper body strain, especially shoulders so try to allow for good adjustability of your wheelbase and seat if you can

    Awesome video thankyou! My rig turns up In two weeks so this is so helpful, I’m so torn as to what distance to have the screen, right on top of the wheel shaft or behind the base.

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you found it useful! It’s probably not as big a deal as you think. I had my screens above the wheelbase shaft for 2yrs and enjoyed the closeness of the screen. When I needed to push it back behind the wheelbase with my Simucube, I was concerned I’d really feel the difference. In all honesty, once I adjusted the FoV, it probably took 10-15mins to feel normal again. Go with what feels right and you can always adjust later. Enjoy the build!

    • @granta27
      @granta27 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thankyou for the reply, I’ve gone with Simucube as well.
      I’ll see how much space I have between the wheel and the base, thankfully that looks like the last thing you positioned.
      Haha I really don’t think I’m going to enjoy the build 😂, but I’ll enjoy it once it’s done.
      Your cable management section of the video was really cool, I’m gonna enjoy that part…… I think.

    H, great tutorial as always. I’m upgrading a 34” ultra-wide to triple 32s. What way would you recommend connecting to the PC. Should all screens by on a display port?

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  หลายเดือนก่อน

      What’s your GPU? My 4090 has 3xDP and 1xHDMI so I put the triples through the DP ports for consistency, I don’t think it’d matter if 1 was connected to the HDMI but I’ve never tried it

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  หลายเดือนก่อน

      My understanding is VRR should work fine on current specs of DP and HDMI, in the past I think there was sometimes issues getting VRR working on earlier versions of the HDMI standard

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't have any other tips than what's in the video as I wouldn't class myself a seating position expert. The 2 things that helped me with lower back was raising the pedal deck and making sure I'm not too far away from my wheelbase so there's no "reaching" happening, even when on full lock

    What are you using as a shelf under your pedal tray to hold the Bass Shaker amp? Is that an old pedal tray that's flipped upside down? I was just trying to figure out the best way to do that exact solution. Thanks!

    • @S1Races
      @S1Races  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is a great spot! It's the original pedal tray from the sim-lab GT1 EVO cockpit which I swapped out for the one from the P1X when I upgraded to heusinkveld ultimates. Seemed liked a good way to keep it in use. Should've just gone with a P1X originally but you live and learn!

    • @S1Races

      Might be the angle you see them at on the video but they tuck in next to me. Any closer and it’d be hard to get in the seat! I think my angle is 65 degrees
