      Never understood this argument. What is it about learning about human activity that prevents you from being a kid?
      Kids aren't "allowed" to be kids. They are kids regardless. No amount of learning about taxes or gender theory is going to change that. The reality is, this isn't about the kids. It's about the adults feeling uncomfortable with the ideas. You even said it yourself.. "I don't believe in the whole gender identification stuff"
      Lots of people still don't believe that being gay isn't a choice. Should we ban teachers from saying it isn't- oh wait... It's too late.

      With all due respect! Little Kindergarten Aged Timmy probably has girlfriend or a crush and his parents probably tease him and poke fun!! If a girl/boy has a same sex crush or boy/girlfriend you as a teacher should go about it the same way you do Timmy!

    • @Vertekmaster
      @Vertekmaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Shikamaru But it is. The whole point of people supporting it is because they are uncomfortable with the idea of children learning about gender identity and sexual orientation. Kids couldn't give a damn what they learn. It's the adults who feel sentiment over the curriculum. DeSantis even referred to it as an "anti grooming bill". What part of learning and encouraging gender identity and orientation is "grooming"?
      Newsflash: It's not. It's old homophobic ideas believing that talking about being gay will make you gay/ LGBTQ agenda is trying to brainwash your kids into being queer. As a southerner this is a popular narrative.
      My argument isn't about what's in the bill. I was responding to the sentiment by the OP.

      @@Vertekmaster Adults are responsible for raising children. This is what parenting is for. The bill simply gives parental autonomy back to the parents and takes it away from school officials. Whether young students should be learning this material (or whether they care) is a separate debate from whether parents should have a right to make decisions about what their kids learn. Just because children don’t care about what they learn doesn’t mean it’s okay to teach it.

    • @Vertekmaster
      @Vertekmaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@John-jz7zz it "being okay" is exactly why parents should have little say in the curriculum. Morality and ethics is instilled from the environment we grow up in, and parents already dominate at least half of that aspect. Public school is supposed to be a neutral ground where students can learn information that parents would deliberately hide/ demonize due to their own beliefs.. Unfortunately now, instead of trying to teach facts about real topics like sexuality and gender identity, we've sided with feelings and emotions to dictate what information is "too much" for parent's feelings.

So much so that the mayor of New York invited all of the child molesters for the sexual groomers to live in New York City. I'm sure that would make decent people of Florida happy as can be but for people living in New York who are parents we are already fighting the good fight against the sexual perverts. New York is almost as bad as far as California when it comes to openly supporting groomers.. we don't need any more sexual perverts and New York City we have enough of them. It's amazing before open borders and multiculturalism all of the sexual perverts all the groomers in western civilization would hide in the cracks and crevices of society but as soon as we open the borders and about tens of millions of people to come into the country from outside of Western Civilization AKA Christian civilization the Antichrist sexual perverts came out of the cracks and crevices an openly supported child molestation. Unfortunately America went way too far down the most psychosocial path to the point where child molestation is accepted in the mainstream in places like New York and California. I think what we need is a two-state solution this way The Real Americans can go back to living in a first world nation with morals. And the left can go live in their sexually prepared a child molesting Utopia where the groomers can groom away without having to worry about moral people on the right pointing out their sexual perversion. We are basically teaching kids that people are different and that it’s OK to be different it’s no different than what we all grew up watching Sesame Street learning in kindergarten’s across America. I'm also gay, and kids shouldn't have to be indoctrinated this young. Sexual identity should be a natural awakening, not a forceful ra*e of the mind every day in a classroom where you should actually be learning reading, writing, and 'rithmetic. It is only in upper middle school and all of high school when inclusivity is a major issue, and even then, forcing LGBTQIA+ topics on others isn't necessary. Naturally, with all of this hubbub about such issues over the decades, kids these days are already activist-minded enough to know not to bully LGBTQIA+ members. Society has progressed towards inclusivity enough to where we don't need Disney and especially not teachers shoving inclusivity and awareness down people's throats. Enough is enough.

    • @soyoltoi

      Sexuality is not even part of the Florida curriculum. Until the Republicans started promoting this bill, this was a complete non-issue among educators. They're using it now as a wedge issue to get more harmful bills passed in the future.
      Even if teachers do decide to mention it, it's going to be some small discussion about how some people are gay or trans and that's ok etc. I doubt anyone is advocating for teaching about the nuances of gender and sexuality to 2nd graders every day in classrooms.

    • @IndependentMind115
      @IndependentMind115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@soyoltoi It may not be part of the official Florida curriculum, but there are books that kids can read, books teachers can and _have_ read to their students, members of the LGBTQIA+ (like drag queens) that have come in to read (and this is the mildest offense, in my opinion), and even talks during classes about such topics. It's not a matter of talking about these topics, it's a matter of _when_ it's best to talk about these topics. Six, seven, eight, nine, and even ten year olds are not going to fully understand these topics, let alone the actual curriculum they're learning. The subject doesn't even need to be broached until they are at least at puberty age.
      To say that sexuality is not even part of the curriculum is to speak a half-truth, because we've all known for years that sexuality, books about it, and even gender identity has been discussed in classrooms. It's a non-issue among educators because they are either a) part of the progressive system or b) they're too dependent on their income to speak out about it. A simple Google search for "gender identity taught to preschoolers" will bring up all sorts of extracurricular sources that promote adults (parents, teachers, guardians, etc.) teaching this sort of thing to preschoolers.
      This means that the smoke is there, and this smoke seems to be encircling a fire that, technically, we simply cannot find. That's because it's not part of the actual curriculum, but it's still being taught through reading and in-class discussions.

    • @soyoltoi
      @soyoltoi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IndependentMind115 Imagine replacing sexual orientation and gender identity with quantum mechanics in what you said.
      "It may not be part of the official Florida curriculum, but there are books that kids can read on quantum mechanics, books teachers can and have read to their students, physicists that have come in to read (and this is the mildest offense, in my opinion), and even talks during classes about such topics. It's not a matter of talking about these topics, it's a matter of when it's best to talk about these topics. Six, seven, eight, nine, and even ten year olds are not going to fully understand these topics, let alone the actual curriculum they're learning."
      This can all be true since there are books on QM for babies, but I don't believe that means discussing the topic should be banned out right. And there is a good reason you would want to teach children about sexual orientation and gender identity and that is that it reduces the stigma behind these topics, reduces the likelihood of bullying, and help alleviate some of the confusion surrounding identity that children are already bombarded with. There is good evidence on the benefit of teaching children about LGBTQ issues that I can cite if you'd like.
      If you were an educator who believes that teaching young kids that LGBT people exist is harmful, you could voice that in a way that's not homophobic or transphobic. Just say that while you support the LGBTQ+ community, you believe that these children are too young to be taught about such subjects. Yet this is not what's happening. Instead, we find legislators making intuitive arguments of protecting child innocence. If bringing the topic of gay people existing into the classroom were harmful to children, there would be child psychologists against its discussion, but the people promoting this bill aren't child psychologists, who are largely against it mind you, but conservatives. Considering it's the conservative establishment defending things like child beauty pageants, I highly doubt this bill is to protect children from actual harm but rather some vague perceived harm and conservative ideas of degeneracy, which is not anything new. After all, there is nothing inherently sexual about teaching kids about gender and love. Not to mention, the democrats in Florida actually tried to pass several amendments to focus the bill, one banning instruction intended to change kids' gender identity/orientation and one banning talk of human sexuality, yet the focus has always moved back to identity.

    The problem with this bill is that no matter what it says it is liable for misuse on the part of accusatory parents and/or the administration. Let's say that an LGBTQ teacher passively mentions their spouse and the children are confused by this. Would explaining that people who like the same gender exist and that it's okay to do so be considered educating them on sexuality? Could that be twisted and misrepresented by homophobic parents/administrators to fire said teacher? We cannot simply look at proposed bills as they are but how they can and will be used when considering their legality.

      The only problem with this bill is that you have people who are trying to teach kids about sexuality at a young impressionable age and they take offense at the idea that they shouldn't be allowed to.
      "Don't talk about sex in front of kids" is not a hard thing to do for the vast majority of the population.

      That’s not what this video’s about but since in brought it up and we’ve been cutting spending and taxes for the past 40yrs which has resulted in increased income and wealth inequality, decimated the M&L classes, shipped many working class jobs overseas, resulted in the M class average wages stagnating, L class wages declining while the upper class and corporations wages/profits have skyrocketed, resulted in the societal issues we’ve seen (Luke violence, extremism/domestic terrorism, racism, xenophobia, misogyny, suicides, drug/alcohol abuse, maternal/infant mortality rate, associated psych/medical conditions, teen pregnancy, incarcerations, poverty, homelessness, polarization, societal unrest and decreases in social mobility, life expectancy, math and literacy scores compared to other countries, and trust in government and each other), results in a weakened and more unstable society. China is investing in the common good, improving the quality of life and growing their M class, like the US did from 1933-1970’s under Dem/progressive policies which resulted in a booming economy and widespread prosperity and is what we see happening in China. When republicans say they believe in small government, what they mean is the want the wealthy and corporations to make the decisions for the country which the government should be making and privatizing non-profit government programs so that the wealthy can pocket the tax $’s and make a profit while offering less services for the M&L classes. We haven’t been spending less money over the past 40yrs. We do tax cuts, cut domestic spending, the common good which benefits the M&L classes, and living off the national debt. This is outlined in a memo a republican Supreme Court justice sent to the US Chamber of Commerce in 1971 titled, “The Lewis Powell Memo: a Corporate Blueprint to Dominate Democracy.” This produces an Oligarchy, a government for the wealthy and corporations and moves away from democracy, more of a government for the ppl. Similar to the Oligarchy we had the last time republicans controlled most states, the house, senate, and WH most of the time from at least 1880-1932. If u want the US M&L classes to continue their decline, if u want to shift more income, wealth, and power from the M&L classes up to the upper class and corporations, the decay of our cities and towns, increased societal issues, want to lose our position of having the largest economy, most powerful country, the dominate superpower, and world leader, then keep buying into republican policies. Corporations and the wealthy make decisions for their short-term profits. They could care a less about the M&L classes, country as a whole, and the long-term strategic planning to stay competitive w/other countries. Their goals and priorities r very different from that of a well functioning, less corrupt government. The American wealthy and corporations have no problems replacing American labor w/robots and moving manufacturing to cheaper labor countries to increase the profits of top executives and shareholders. They r also all for too few IRS agents to audit their taxes and government inspectors who protect the M&L classes/labor.
