For clarification, the 3 Dragons were originally human knights from Atlantis who fought in the first battle against the Great Leviathan. They were transformed into Dragons and weakened, but they managed to stalemate the Great Leviathan causing it to fall asleep. Dartz then sealed each of the 3 Dragons inside of crystals via magic swords and they remained that way until the protagonists freed them 10,000 years later.
Why was this not mentioned? That story sounds so much better than season 4
@@theduckgoesmoo It sounds cool in theory but is just as terribly executed as the rest of season 4. The Dragon's background story is loosely mentioned when the Dragons are introduced, but the full background isn't told until Dartz's info dump during the duel. After overcoming Dartz's mind games, the Pharaoh draws Pegasus's card returning the Dragons to their true form, resulting in yet another info dump.
@@theduckgoesmoo Season 4 is honestly better than the entirety of Battle City, with things actually happening and secondary characters getting to play an important role, but I can see how someone who thinks this abridged series is actually funny might not see that. I hate everything Little Kuribo made so much!

@@hallofguns8174 Just to say, not taking any sides, but here's a thing, just because someone put in hard work into something and people like it does not make it good, or right/wrong, I'm tired of people using it vaguely without context of what makes it truly great, sometimes great things with a swift of a wrist and sometimes it's hard work, that's why people need to go deeper.
Just saying, still not taking sides, I enjoyed the show and not at the same time, I believe about the majority who watched both shows feel the same, it has its ups and downs, if Konami learns from 4Kids mistakes, maybe they can make a better one.
Oh and it's just in Konami is now FINALLY making an anime about Yugioh, the monsters and not the characters, seriously looking forward in the lore, check it out, hope Six Samurai gets an adaptation.

Considering Littlekuriboh struggles with depression I feel that speech Yami gave when facing Dartz came straight from the heart.
It was actually good.
Dartz's speach is those voices you hear in depression, like "you don't desserve to be happy, just give it up (take your life)".
And yami's comeback is LK saying, We are still here.

@@MorphoComics Yes, and the fact that, for that entire speech, Dartz's voice suddenly gets a bit more serious and is quite understandable in comparison to the usual craziness and over the top mispronounciations you've heard from him this entire season

My favorite quote from this arc is probably dartz speech to Yami (is it cliche? Yes, do I care? No)
Okay so funny thing, so when Darts said, "Only if destroying an innocent soul concerns you" and Kaiba says "Nah as a teenager with unlimited access to the internet I get to do that everyday" you might not know it but that is actually a line almost word for word from the 4kids dub where in that version Kaiba starts by saying, "so you've got a dweeb army, am I supposed to be scared to attack?" Then Darts says, " well only if destroying an innocent soul concerns you." Prompting kaiba to comeback with what is to date my favorite line that has ever been said within a show that 4kids has license, "nah as the president of a major corporation I have to do that everyday."
Kaiba has got to be one of my favorite characters no matter if it's the Japanese version or the English version because no matter what version it is you can always count on kaiba to have some of the best lines no matter one's preference for subbed or dubbed!!

For the beyond infinity attack debacle that was actually a thing added by 4kids. in the original Japanese and the actual card game the combining form of the three knights affect just has a gain equal attack to the monster it's attacking. You can even see the detail as you'll note both monsters are destroyed when they battle, as they had the same attack.
Yep, and Datz lost because the serpent was connected to his life points while Yami's was connected to the Dark Magician Girl, who was totally left out of the fight.

The scene of the Pharaoh naked in foetal position sinking into the ocean depths is a metaphor for sinking into depression. It's actually deep (pun intended), especially knowing Little-Kuriboh's own struggles with depression.
There is a YT channel called Cvit who's made a few "Everything wrong" with every season of Yugioh, the first 2 of GX, Capsule Monsters and the movies.
I still watch those videos in their entirety to this day. Just funny seeing him point out the ridiculous bs that happened throughout the series.

Well for Dartz 10,000 years being alive, watching your entire kingdom being utterly destroyed as the people turned to monsters, and being corrupted by the Oricalcos has made him insane and sadistic. With his goals to collect enough souls for the Leviathan, his idea of fun is to kill enough people and belittling his subordinates. Considering his idea of recruitment of those souls he believes could be good subordinates and fodder or just any unfortunate sap he turns his attention can be good targets for his idea of fun or pranks. Aka murder or at least one casualty. He started a war between two third world countries as Gozobura Kaiba because he thought that it would be fun and to get Alister. He probably just saw using a tidal wave to kill everyone on a cruise ship as a prank and saw getting Raphael as a bonus. And as for framing Valon, once again his idea of a prank. But him going to a prison under his control was just a bonus for him as he did have to send who knows how many others poor souls to the Great Leviathan to survive and prove to be a worthy subordinates. That man might be mad, be he sure does have a method to it.
Dear god. The jokes in this episode have me on my ass. But I think the best part is Dartz calling out Pharaoh as a dick. That speech of self doubt definitely felt like that was straight from the heart.
I love it when abridged series go from being funny to being serious like that. LK doesn't do it too often, but when he does it's amazing because he's actually become a really good writer after doing this for so long.

@@lakshaykochhar6799 Mainly YuGiOh Abridged and Naruto Abridged. He's worked on other stuff, but mostly as a voice actor instead of a writer, so I'm pretty sure most of his experience writing is just from these series.
The Puzzleshipping was strong in this episode.
About Hermos just blocking the attack of Cornelius, Hermos's effect gave itself an effect to not be destroyed in battle by a monster with more than 1900 atk and since life points didnt matter, Yugi took infinite damage without losing.
Specifically, it gave itself the effect of one of Yami's fallen monsters; in this case, Obnoxious Celtic Guardian. Similarly, Critias was able to copy a trap from the graveyard, namely Mirror Force.
Kaiba Corp was a military base building company first then covering into a Card Game and Technology for it.
A few things. The BLS Blue Eyes fusion is actually called Dragon Master Knight, and it's really bad by today's standards. Its attack was called Dragon Saber Blast. Also, the card that allowed Yugi to stay in the duel after his life points dropped to zero is a real card called relay soul. You can only activate it when your life points drop to zero and it allows you to special summon a monster. If that monster is destroyed, you lose. It is also a bad card.
I have and use that card. It is a good last ditch, especially with Marshmellon.

You know how a lot of animes tend to play the opening for the hype-est moment? When "Aedamn" was doing his speech of triumph against Dartz, the original OP for Yugioh was playing. Not the one at the start of these abridged episodes, but this mostly instrumental that features the words "your move" a bunch and "It's time to d-d-d-d-d-d-d-duel".
The guy with the yellow jacket is Bastian from YuGiOh GX. A math wiz.
1) kaiba would only be impressed if the aircraft carrier could transform into a giant dual disc
2) auto generated subs are interesting - they understand darts almost 100% only miss some lines here and there but ignore kyle almost completely or come up with subs like "kyle: my daughter doesn't have this many digits" ... óO

And yes - in the show Dartz did disguise himself as Gozaburo Kaiba to get Alester to hate on Kaiba, in the dub Valin committed a crime Dartz framed him he never did (since the nun subplot was removed since she was implied to be killed in the fire the gang members set on her church) and yeah, sent a tidal wave to kill Rafael's family
Funny thing about that snake monster - Divine Serpent Geh - they have actually made it into a card

So, let me see if I got Valin's backstory straight. Dartz kills the nun in a fire which Valin blames the gangsters for so he beats the shit out of them, leading to him being sent to the prison owned by Dartz...So, Valin did do the crime he was just misslead into doing it? (never completed watching season 4 so I wouldn't know).
The Bastion joke is also a refference to LK's other series Little Kuriboh Watches Yu-Gi-Oh GX where he constantly refers to Bastion as a Posch shit head due to Bastion's brittish accent.
@@brainstorm9560 Well Dartz had nothing to do with the nun's death as far as I'm aware of, the gang killed the nun who looked after Valon whom they burn down (or is implied) in her church since their boss bought the church, leading him to go all psycho-nuts on them. But he does eventually get sent to a juvie detention center that's run by a warden who works for Dartz and uses the inmates to collect souls for the Orichalcos - and when Valon (misspelled it before) defeated all the other inmates on the island, he got hired to work for Dartz. You could say that Valon kind of was guided into the job once he got to the prison owned by Dartz

I actually know a series called everything wrong with Yu-Gi-Oh made by a TH-camr named Cvit. He has done everything wrong with Yu-Gi-Oh all the way up to Yu-Gi-Oh GX season 2 and to answer your question specifically, everything wrong with yugioh season 4 exist as well as the rest of the seasons and their filler.
These videos are an absolute blast to watch and I think that they are a great way to understand how many problems Yu-Gi-Oh actually has and trust me it's a lot more than you think. It's just the first half of season 3 the entirety of season 4 and the first part of season 5 just really stick out a lot for there terrible stories!!

I don't know how it was in the original japanese version, but when they made the real life version of the card it had the effect that it couldn't be destroyed by battle. Even infinite attack couldn't deal with that.

The little girl was Dartz’s daughter in the actual show. That stone Dartz took out of the fountain seems to be embedded in his eye since you can see how one of them wasn’t green. Meaning he was essentially hijacked by the evil sentient stone for over 10,000 years. Raphael allowed darkness/anger into his heart and since he lost the duel the seal could rip out his soul. Also yes you can have comparisons with infinity. I don’t know what point that entire GX monologue was but you can do mathematics to do comparisons with smaller or larger values of infinity
Season 4 Yugioh Abridged is probably the best season but also very flawed. There’s a ton of nit picking about S4 that LK made worse by omitting details or changing things then saying how dumb they are because he made it so that it doesn’t make sense. The original had good explanations for what was going on for nearly everything. The main thing I disliked in the original was Dartz causing all the life changing events and not other people. It would’ve fit the themes of the season if the reason the minions joined was because the world genuinely can suck and not everyone has a happy life. Other than that and the unnecessary (but makes sense) US military there’s a ton of great things about S4.
For the Abridged version what I loved the most was Dartz’s voice direction and that absolutely brutal speech against Yami. Glorious writing and voice acting.
The point with Bastian showing up was how he just happens to have equations for everything concerning duel monsters including "life point quantum mechanics" in the English dub. So the insert was him trying to explain that 😓
@@andreware2039 Huh, It’s been ages since I’ve seen GX but his explanations were partially wrong. Making it seem like the infinity vs infinity + 3 knights was bullshit while it had some merit since there are different “sizes” of infinity. Still his cameo is nice if you know him from GX. Just wish he was actually saying something correct

Oh, the true name of the Pharaoh (which is spoiler filled) is Atem. It’s just that Dartz’s lisp distorted the secret sparing the world for reasons.
this duel in the actual show was 6 episodes long, the same amount as the Yugi vs Kaiba duel in the Battle City Semifinals, honestly i'm glad they toned it down in the later spinoffs. Mirror Force Dragon is a real card.

Everything Wrong with Yi-Gi-Oh! Season 4
Now that we’re almost at the end of season 4 I’ll try and play devils advocat.
Season 4 kind of got a bad rep because of the abridged and cvits „everything wrong with yugioh series“. Yes there are obvious flaws with the season, but a lot of the jokes are very nitpicky and cranked up to 11 leaving out a lot of context. For example why mai joined the orichalcos.
Obviously I’m biased because it’s my favourite season after battle city, but it genuinely has some of the best duels in the series ( yugi and kaiba vs dartz, yugi vs rafael, joey vs valon), awesome ost in „fang of critias“, and again for all its flaws it at least tried to expand on characters like mai, rex, weevil and even the pharaohs relationship with yugi.
It's my third favourite season after season 0, if it counts, and Virtual world. Battle City has some great moments, but even in the manga it's mostly boring.
What really sucks is that if Dartz had just looked around for another month he could have easily found 3-4 people whose lives were legitimately fucked up, and who either already were or could be trained into good duelists, and hired them to be his soldiers. Rather than going out of his way to mess with Raphael and them.
He had 10,000 years and a lot of bulls*t magical powers, he could've easily had an army to do that. But what's weird is that he already had a squad of bikers, limo drivers, and an entire corporation at his disposal. It's easier to just accept that Dartz is just an ahole that like messing with people.
Even though I still can't help but be annoyed by the over focus on the contrivance of Dartz's workings, and how "F-k this season" the series is in general, I still can't help but find myself laughing at everything else, this series is so good I'm simultaneously ticked off and laughing at it, (Though still the "F-k this season" attitude is still much and grating and so exaggerated that some take certain exaggerated elements at face value, when the actual season is really more rule of cool, so why should we care, seriously, it feels like y'all overthink the season so much and not helped by the abridged's presentation of its flawsand that pains me, but much like said flaws it's better to overlook that aspect, i guess, sorry i constantly feel the need to vent my frustration on the series into your specific reaction)
I ABSOLUTELY agree with this! I feel like while other jokes were funny the constant S4 potshots were extraordinarily nit picky. You can do that with every season of Yugioh and make them all sound just as bad as this one. There’s a lot of background information and details Little Kuriboh ignored or changed that makes it sound worse than it ever was. The only big thing I didn’t like in the original S4 was the fact Dartz was responsible for the suffering of his minions. It would’ve made more sense with the theme of S4 if they showed off how some people just have bad lives that makes them give up on people/humanity because some people are horrible. But other than that nearly all of the other plot points have good reasons and information behind them. Great/Best Yugioh Abridged season but it’s also very flawed.
Hey if you enjoy it, then enjoy it! Don't let me or anyone else try to stop you! There is a big focus on the issues of season 4 so I totally understand what you mean, but seriously no need to apologize for sharing your opinion!
