The speech that Dartz gives the Pharaoh about giving up and how he doesn't apperciate his friends was done because at the time Little Kuriboh himself was battling with depression and Dartz and the oricholcous was a personification of said depression and how he has overcome it with the love of his friends, family and fans.

Yami can hear Dartz say his name, he just doesn't understand what he's saying at all. It's just another joke about the fact that no one can understand Dartz when he's saying something clearly.
Like when Dartz says Seto Kaiba. No one in-universe understood what he said.

Honestly the scene where Dartz chews Yami out for his behavior throughout the series makes this my favorite episode of the entire series. In the original series it's just BS to screw with his head. But here? It's fuel to have some legitimate character development not just for the Pharaoh, but in a sense the series itself. Legitimate drama that not only is well acted, but doesn't sacrifice the series' identity in the process(it got meta with itself rather than its source material). It took Season 4's nothing and turned into something. It just goes to show how much the series has evolved since its debut over 10 years ago.

What the hell are you talking about in the final season he wasn’t an evil pharaoh in the slightest his father was and he was trying to rectify all the mistakes caused by it (at least in the show)
It isn't that Yami couldn't hear Dartz say Atem. But rather the joke is that the accent was so thick for characters they cannot understand it. They joked that earlier where Dartz said Seto Kaiba without the thick accent, but they still couldn't understand it, and thought he said Joey Wheeler.
So Yami is hearing his name, but he cannot understand it.
No joke, I turned up the subs after a while because I couldn't understand a damn thing whenever Dartz spoke! X)
And yet, I didn't have this problem with Paradox, so the accent must be watered down the line. B)
While it's used as a joke about all the plot holes in this season, the reveal that Dartz is responsible for the tragedies of his henchmen's lives is honestly rather disturbing to me. He is talking about starting wars and ruining the lives of so many innocent people, and he is doing so with absolute glee and amusement at the destruction he has brought about.
Dartz may be a humorous villain, but he's still a maniac with no regard for human life.
Yeah. Given his motivation, it kinda turns him into a "maogniifiçont bastawd doing sheit jost fow da sheit ond giggles".

the card yugi use is real, the name is Relay soul, it allow you to special summon a monster from your hand, and as long the monster is on the field, you dont lose LP, but if the monster leave the field you lose automaticly

Dude yugioh was made in Japan. They are highly advanced and behind the times at the same time. Everyone uses the most recent smartphone, but also fax machines.
For the record; yes cellphones did exist when season four hit; for those outside of the us, I can say from personal experience that they were practically nonexistent in mainstream society before the 9-11 attack’s (only 1 student in my whole school had one) but after there was a massive surge in getting one due to the concerns at the time (though that level of technology was years ahead).
Also, yes, the US military was involved with the end of season 4; they showed up out of nowhere and last only a few scenes.
Ok so the “Thiefshipping card” is called Relay Soul, basically you special summon a monster from your hand, while it’s face up on the field you take no damage, but when it leaves the field your opponent wins the duel.

Pharaoh's moment was actually badass in this version. Littlekuriboh created a gem out of shit that is 4th season.
season 4 is better than 1 or 3..bite me...heck it gives 2 a run for its money..i think its better as a story then even 5..its actually the best season in terms of story ..I just think people hate all the contrived nonsense and dont care as much about these villains so the season suffers because of it..pegasus marik noah and bakura are actual villains we care about ...dartz is just awful..

I think its better. But both 81 and 82 are among the best in the series. Season 4 is overall the best season of the abridged.

Also, the divine serpent was officially made a few months ago and while it doesn’t have ♾ attack, it is still fairly good in certain decks.
The moment where Dartz convinces Yami to quit is done so well in the abridged series. The music makes it even better. It's done better than the original version

It was omitted, but Dartz had to kill his wife when she became a monster. Yeah, space rocks tricked him into thinking the monsters they turned into were the people's true selves, so he opted to purge humanity for being evil.
I loved how littlekuriboh used his own continuity to emphasize dartz speech to the pharoah about how he is corrupt while staying in the ridiculous accent. It still felt genuine, That is world class writing right there!

Also sad to think that he isn't going to be doing an abridged series for the others as well. Though he DID say that he may do episode reviews to the other series like he's doing with GX

In the Japanese version of this duel Yami here actually had equaled Divine Serpent Geh (what Dartz called Cornelius) in Infinity attack points, thus both of them destroying each other. When Timaeus Knight of Destiny (the fusion of the 3 knights) is destroyed it reverts back to its components, but even then that doesn't matter because while Yami still had Dark Magician Girl on the field, Dartz no longer had Geh on the field, meaning Dartz lost. But in the 4kids dub they actually said Timaeus Knight of Destiny had more than infinity attack points.
