I did a 25 m run to garage access point and it was amazing
My setup is my virgin wifi hub connect to the access point via Ethernet then run cable to garage from house to get wifi via access point and get wired internet with more ports On a switch I think that will be a better idea in my opinion.
I think he should have ran Ethernet to access point the new house if possible and a access point out side on house

😂 Real network engineers have far better ways of locating the ends of cables. You could've just got the base MAC of the AP and located it on the switch side, or used a cable locator.
Or he could have just labelled the cables when he did the first install 🤫

Why didn't you just run a line from loft to loft, like the telephone line does on houses, less Wi-Fi transmissions and power consumption and less radiation and significantly more secure?
A point-to-point link is an extremely efficient way of connecting two sites together. It's perfectly acceptable and perfectly secure.
@@ACAIDC It may well be efficient over a distance greater than next door!! But since this is next door and it's main purpose is for a security system monitoring (I'm guessing cameras?) as well internet, you'd want a system that cannot be jammed or interfered with easily which also has less points of failure, therefore a hardwire between two houses would have been a more efficient and significantly cheaper and easier method, especially since he's broadcasting it all over the internet what and how he's doing it?!
