I don't understand why everyone in the comments is so upset by this and acting like the series is dead. Yu-Gi-Oh has always done different things to shake up its own Master Rule format, so why is it bad to have a completely different format?

This is a new format duel called Rush Duel. Master Duel is where our childhood belongs to. But I think in my view, Rush Duel is an innovative way by Konami to lure new younger generations who are new to Yu Gi Oh Card Duels since the Rush Duel Mechanics are more simplified than the two previous duel formats

I find it hilarious that people think summoning 3 monsters and getting a 7k beatstick is overpowered. Meanwhile, the counterpart manga, which is based around depicting the game as how it is actually played in real life, has the shitty sidekick summon 3 2k+ beatsticks with negates and controls on his first turn during the very first duel shown lmao

@@sxwriter8569 Not usually on their first turn. Also, this series is supposed to be a divergence from modern Yu-gi-oh (master rule 5) where people special summon like there is no tomorrow and go for OTKs, but this series ironically falls into the same "bad shinanigns" of the modern game

I think the rush duel format of dueling is nice for people trying to learn the actual game or want to play more casual. It’s an easier more simple yugioh. However rush duel is probably not the best anime idea since the duels will be so fast, there will have to be a hella good story to make up for the severely decreased duel time and action. With enough care I think it’s possible since yugioh anime usually has a pretty good story to them, but they are mixed in with the long action packed duels. But who knows maybe sevens can succeed in making something new
So verdict: i think it did really well. It went for a more low stakes narrative with a focus on episodic duels, saving 2 parters for the season finales and final season. The duels admittedly got a bit stale. Not because Rush cant work as a format, but because the writers had a weird obsession with the duels always ending in 3-4 turns making the outcome pretty predictable. But while I say that, who would win the duels was always refreshing because the MC was allowed to lose duels.
I like it , i think its a good way for modern dueling it fast and not boring, 6 zone way better compare 10 zone now day cuz of spamming monster and longer turns.

Just because someone does'nt like all the shows does'nt make them toxic, I stopped watching the anime after 5d's and that's because it's got the same problem that the card game itself has. Things got way too needlessly convluted with the summon mechanics and the storylines.
As a non-YGO fan: The show was bad, but at least it had some redeeming qualities like cool card designs (except for Sevens Road Magician, who would only look better in fan art)
“Sevens Road Magician, attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon!” “I activate the trap, *Lumenize!”* “Shi-“ Ik the theme of the Blue eyes player is he’s based off Kaiba, but I thought it would’ve been a nice touch to use another card that belonged to a Yugioh rival character
scrubs on DB be like: "omg pends are so broken, special summon a bunch of monsters in 1 turn" also scrubs: "rush duels looks very fun!" Like bruh, Rush Duel is literally Pendulum Summoning without Pendulums lol.
Not really because in rush duels you don't have any crazy extra deck monsters to summon and you can only have one Legend card in your deck for Rush Duels so it's not as busted. Also if you've seen some of the rush duel gameplay, you'll see that it's a lot more slowed down and not as spammy with special summons as modern yugioh but that could change in the future so who knows...
Yeah, but with Rush duels, everyone has access to spam summoning, regardless of what engine you run. When the Pendulum format was dominant, it was either you played Pendulums, or you were forced to figure out how to counter Pendulums, which made the game state quite monotonous, if not outright infuriating, especially if you were just playing casually on a low budget.
0:48, let’s give the animators credit for fixing a long lasting error throughout the series since the beginning. The common error make the characters seem like they’re hold their cards upside down. 👏
One thing I like about Yuga is that he doesn't care about being the best or even winning. All he cares about is having fun in duels, which is why he invented Rush Duels in the first place. In an era where Duel Monsters has gotten more and more complex, Yuga decided to make a new way of dueling that was fun and easy to understand so that anyone could play. A way that lets anyone make a comeback and enjoy themselves. He doesn't care about being the best duelist in the world and he doesn't care about taking credit for inventing Rush Duels. So long as everyone enjoys dueling, he'll happily let other people take credit for his stuff.
Man, nowadays not only real life game ends in 1 turn, but also anime one too. I miss days when we actually play with different tactics, whole different decks and at least 5 turn games.
5ds era imo is the last Yu-Gi-Oh that have longer duels but still you can make combos. Zexal especially Arc V imo are the worst. Although the decks and some are unique but most of the archetype are all about special summoning spam.

Well, you can do that since pendulum. But for normal summon, its since Rush Duel. The premise of Rush Duel is to end the game quickly and can counter your opp every turn by having a fast paced gameplay. And there's no need to wait like 10-20 minutes for the turn to end.
This is actually exactly what its like playing Blue Eyes in Duel Links. You think, oh man, my main card has 3000 attack points, and the opponent only has 4000 life points! Honestly at first I thought it was shit. Now I get it. This is actually pretty good simple & fast
But who knows maybe sevens can succeed in making something new
I don't think so.
Rush Duels it's basically its own kind of duel, it changes and removes a lot of the rules from Regular Yu-Gi-Oh.
3 minute duels

also scrubs: "rush duels looks very fun!"
Like bruh, Rush Duel is literally Pendulum Summoning without Pendulums lol.
The thing that made Pendulum monsters broken was abusing their Extra Deck mechanic.
Well pendulums are broken they have two efects can be spam and also they go to extra deck when destroyed
NewToTH-cam and can be done multiple times!!

As a prop to say though, Yuga's VA really sounds like the Small Yugi.
Ok, hands up who thinks that little meow from Stray Familiar was adorable.
