Hi Marianne, have you seen the movie A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night? That movie came to mind when hearing about all your new acquisitions. We don't have any vinyl records at our house. I believe my mom still has a turn table and some records. When I was in high school she would play Dan Fogelberg "To the Morning" to get me up. Otherwise there would be yelling, lol.
Hi Amanda! Yes, I actually have heard of that movie! It's on my watchlist on Letterboxd. Although, I don't know when I'll be able to get to it. Hopefully one day soon. That's cool you have memories of your mom playing records at home! Growing up my mom and dad didn't own or play records. By that time it was all cds. I also have some vinyl... along with my movies, books, and kpop albums. But I'm super particular about what I get. I mostly have soundtracks and scores. The music just has to fit what I think listening to a record should be like, lol, I don't know how else to explain it. Very much chill-er, casual stuff or classical/instrumental music for the most part. I maybe have only around 15 records but it's nice to add something to my collection every once in a while. There are definitely a few I'd really like to have but vinyl tends to fall to the wayside in comparison to the other physical media stuff.
Yeah, there's no way I'm gonna be a serious vinyl collector, not when I'm already into books, film...and pins 😅I'll be sticking mainly to soundtracks. They're the ones I get the more joy out of collecting. Btw, have you gotten to Death in Venice yet? Because, I'm thinking of picking up the soundtrack for that film. Whenever I think of that film the Mahler score is just playing in my head.
