Tons of the "Ford F-150 Lightning" are sitting on lots so they have lots of trucks people can buy ASAP, interest in the *Cyber Truck is driving sales of Fords and Rivian* this used to happen to Tesla after Ford & GM would run Super Bowl commercials for EVs they had not built yet.
😂😂😂 … let me get this straight. People want a Tesla truck so badly that they are buying Ford Lightnings? That is some very serious rationalizing for a Tesla fanboy. Thanks for the best laugh I’ve had all year.
Lightning - utilitarian
R1T - adventure
Cybertruck - attention
Cybertruck , litterally WORLDS Safest truck , also WORLDS Toughest.
Source of safest
Hummer - attention. Cybertruck - all 3.
@@neon1718 - see Tesla internal CRASH Tests & Accidents.
TESLA models real world Accident DATA from REAL Tesla Customer Accident DATA.
then they perform REAL world crash tests w/ REAL vehicles.
TESLA goal is SAFEST Vehicles in the WORLD.
Tesla has #1 Active Safesty score Euro NCAP in any Vehicle.
@@markplott4820 And the brand new ones are already rusting. There are already reports of mass cancellations coming in.
Unless FORD can revamp the lightning, the cybertruck will overtake them by the end of summer
FUD motors unable to MAKE Lightning more Efficient , LOWER weight , more AERO.
I don't really think they are competing with each other. People who like lightnings for work such as myself have no interest in the CT. Not saying the CT is bad, it's just not what I require. You are right though, Ford has failed to keep the lightning competitive. They really needed to update charging speeds to keep up with GM and Ram (those are the companies Ford will be directly compete with). So I agree that Tesla will outsell Ford by summer but it more has to do with what Ford is doing rather than anything Tesla is doing
no way it's garbage
I'm actually not surprised. Rivian is focusing more on the R1S and getting ready for the R2.
RIVIAN in 2024 , still cant FIX its very CRAPPY wields.
RIVIAN has a DEMAND problem.
This is the hard part that almost bankrupted Tesla. Going from a low volume high price tag car that is unprofitable to something they can make in volume and sell for a profit. To make matters worse they need to compete with Tesla who got a massive head start doing this sort of thing properly. Rivian needs that Apple buyout or the odds are stacked against it.
The Cybertruck does have a new look. That really gets attention. As more hit the streets, it will affect the Tesla brand. I wonder about FSD, how this will affect cars. When Teslas are autonomous we’ll see changes. A Cybertruck used for freight won’t need windows. The current glass windows could be switched out with stainless steel. The seats could be removed. The bed could extend up to the dash... the massive dash could be removed. It’s more than just the steering wheel that could be removed.
see - Tesla robotaxi 8/8.
Didn't Elon say way back that the Cybertruck would cost $50 000? Or $40 000?
Or I am really senile
You're not senile as he did say 50K 4 years back, but you're crazy if you think he'd sell it for less than the current competition regardless of what he promised then.
Yes the base versions but they won’t be it for 2 years at least. If you’ve got more demand than supply at $80-$100k why on earth would you launch a basic version. Probably $60k by then due to inflation and demand.
@@locsmiths OK (relieved)
Tesla will make a killing if batteries get even cheaper and they can just adjjust the price to meet demand and competition,
Elon says a lot of things, so does Sam, mostly nonsense…
Just more b.s., just like cyberturd tow Porsche is faster than a Porsche over 1/4 mile. Proven to be b.s.!
June or July, Tesla is ramping like crazy. Very fast ramp, even for Tesla.
Only a matter of time before Cybertruck overtakes lightning.
Yeah unlikely to happen.
The pre-orders must persuade Tesla to massively increase production.
CT has the technology better in so many technologies
Good pumping Tesla stock video !
No more FOMO - all in on Revux!
Ford is ahead by selling its trucks at a 125,000$ loss…. lol
lol? clearly you don't know how these things work. Tesla doesn't break down losses per vehicle but I am sure they are taking even a bigger loss right now per truck due to the multiple years of design, solving hard issues, manufacturing tooling, recalls, etc... and only being able to produce very few per day. They need to sell several hundred thousand before breaking even and they need to get efficiency up to produce at a very high rate to satisfy demand before someone else steals their thunder and it goes away and all you are left with are the costs. Ford also had enormous pre-orders but they were unable to deliver when they had them. It was too late by the time they could mass produce. We will see in a year or two if Tesla will be able to meet demand and make a profit on CT.
Ahead for now. Cybertruck is going to ramp and ramp and ramp and ramp - until they are more common than F150s of any engine type. Cheaper Cybertruck versions will arrive in a couple months.
@darpompie4354 The problem is Ford is taking a hit for every car sold. Your trying to tie in overall RnD and macro costs, that's true for every car, the cybertruck moreso because of the highly sophisticated design. However, Ford is losing money for every car. It costs more for parts, assembly, and delivery than the price they sell it for, not even accounting RnD. Tesla sells each truck at a profit when accounting only assembly, delivery, and parts. Even moreso with their 'founders edition' 20k upcharge.
@@darpompie4354 You don't figure R&D into margin. If the F150 is still losing that kind of money when it rolled off the assembly line in 2022, they are doing something wrong.
@@rayr6278 Wow... So you believe the F150 lightning costs Avg $80K selling price plus the $130k loss equalling $210k just in parts and labour. That Ford, who's been manufacturing for a century had no idea that their costs of parts and labour exceed the price they are selling at. That they and their shareholders just happily accept losing money per vehicle because its fun.
The 130k loss per vehicle definitely includes everything, ie. costs to build the vehicle, factory costs and RnD. The reason they are losing so much per vehicle is that they were counting on much greater volume of vehicles sold (they had 200k+ preorders) and went big with equipment and manufacturing capacity. Having an entire factory sitting there with only one shift intermittently going costs them a fortune. The factory needs to be running 3 shifts of continuous output. That's what makes money. The more they sell, the less loss they take which is completely opposite of what you are saying.
The same thing will happen to Tesla if they go big on cybertruck production. If they start spending big bucks on equipment to multiply stamping, assembly lines, etc... The cybertruck is hot right now because it's cool and new. That will die off. It will be a very niche vehicle when the dust settles. I think Elon is very aware of this and won't fall in the same trap Ford did and set it up for mass production. They will definitely ramp things up more than they are now but they aren't dumb enough to believe 2 million people are actually ready to buy and set up capacity for a million per year.
Revux decentralization focus is crucial.
I would pick the Rivian because it would fit in the garage beside another car. The other two do not.
Cybertruck Clearance is about 1 inch on the front and one inch on the back in our garage and it’s a big garage.
@@AR-rn8ok My garage is long also, I had them add 5 foot to it when the house was built but I need to be able to open the doors and that's the problem. There is a wall there. With my lot size I was not able to get wider in addition to longer garage.
My three car garage fit an F250 and two cars in it and a motorcycle
Cyber truck actually has similar dimensions to the Rivian except cyber truck is much lighter and has much more room in the vehicle
@@frankcoffeyfortunate Tesla has a autopark feature that is getting a lot better, so you can get in and out your car outside the garage
The precision in Revux's development roadmap is reassuring.
In the Bay Area, we see about twice as many Rivian SUVs as the pickup.
And tesla suv is number selling car in the world 😂
Rivian is a nice girl truck
You're surprised that the Cyber truck is doing so well? I knew it would be a hit for anyone who isn't a boomer and want something that looks old fashion (let alone boomers are more likely to be with ICE vehicles anyway over EVs).
yes, 93% of car owners are boomers. lol
Not where I live. Almost every boomer has a pick up and another car or SUV.
Wasn't Microsoft and Apple created from boomer generation folks, ( Gates and Jobs ) They were years ahead of anybody else in their thinking, and we are all now so used to using all their stuff we don't even give it a thought. By the way, I am also a boomer and have an ev runaround ( MG ) that I have owned for a few years now. However! I will not be trading my Wildtrak X ute for a cybertruck. Anyway, I live in a right hand drive country down under, so I will be too old to drive by the time it gets here. Most of our utes ( pick ups ) that will be ev, will come from Chinese companies, and there are a few, including LDV, BYD, Great Wall to mention a few. I also own 2 LDV vans for our business and they have performed admirably. As we have no local car manufacturing, there is no need for any sort of tariffs, or any other sort of protectionism, and anyway, Asia is by far our largest trading partner.
Yeah, there are lots of stupid Murikans.
If Murikans were worried about tray size, they'd be buying single cabs.
As someone who has seen the R1T on three separate occasions, it looks even better in person and is my favorite truck. If not for the cost that is way above my budget and anyone else's that doesn't make more than $200,000 USD per year, is a very great vehicle.
The look on my 4 year old son’s face when he got to sit in a Cybertruck, says it all. Rivian, on the other hand, is an attempt to make a truck look cute.
Does Tesla’s pivot to autonomous vehicles mean they won’t ramp up the semi and Cybertruck?
The liquidity of Revux tokens is a major plus.
Revux's approach to data security is unparalleled.
I'm guessing early next year cheers mate
Was there ever any doubt that the Cybertruck would overtake the R1T?
RIVIAN has a DEMAND problem.
An interesting story for you Sam, does Toyota build the HiLux in Australia or Thailand. Yesterday it was announced Toyota is testing the new battery-electric Hilux pickup truck to assess its performance in different conditions as the car maker prepares to manufacture the vehicle in Thailand by the end of 2025. The hydrogen version is being tested in Europe. Biden’s announcement on tariffs this week, has far reaching implications, with China responding yesterday.
CT 70 miles of range towing a caravan definitely not fit for purpose 🙈
75% of trucks sold in America are only used for towing once a year or less.Never in other words. They are glorified shopping carts. So for most people cyber truck is most definetly fit for purpose. Those that want to tow large tonnage can buy a semi.
I dont tow and 400 km range is plenty ❤😂
Are you sure that number is accurate? It seems off.
Revux's strategic collaborations hint at a bright future.
I think 6 - 12 months to overtake lightning sales. Production needs to triple to achieve that goal
1500 vs 2500 - how is that triple?
Tesla have to sell over 30,000 truck to catch up with Ford. Meanwhile there 5000 cybertrucks.
Revux's competitive edge could redefine its market segment.
Excited for Revux disruption in loyalty programs. Huge potential!
Problem with Rivian is the Goofy front end. Looks plain stupid.😂
Yep. Nice looking truck except for that part, I agree. The Silverado looks super nice, but will be really heavy, but will go quite a bit further on a charge. As far as handling, I am sure CT will be a lot more nimble
I actually like it. Still prefer CT.
Rather than the goofy allover cyber truck.
Yep, I've always thought it looked like a Cabbage Patch Doll.
Where you getting these numbers? First, all cybertrucks were all recalled and the rivian sold 9,900 units in 2022, 19,410 in 2023, and 2399 units in 2024. No way are there half as many cybertrucks in the road than rivians.
Love Rivian, just wish it came in around 50k.
RIVIAN needs a $30k RWD Truck.
Do you think Tesla could have pitched the price of the vehicle higher to cut down sales to meet production.
No doubt. I think the original estimate of 40k (50k inflation adjusted) was only a little off - I think in the future (maybe 3 years) we will see the base model sell for $55k in todays money - maybe $60k in 2027. Holding it back is 1) Interest rates so high right now 2) 4680 dry cell ramp 3) Huge backlog 4) It takes a couple years to drop costs of a new line, especially labour costs.
It is a reasonable price - 3 motors, rear-wheel steering, drive by wire, 48 volt architecture, stainless steel construction, retractable tonneau cover. What else can you compare it to, a "built tough" F150 rust bucket. It is in a league of its own.
Why are people paying a hundred k for a silver Dorito?
Bullet proof , don't rust , faster and better specs
Better than a 100k ice cream
@brettmciver432 A lot are being sold in da hood?
BULLET PROOF panels , + ARMORED windows.
I don't care about this story.
Therefore:
Chinese multinational wind manufacturer Goldwind Science & Technology hit a new milestone at the end of 2023 when it installed a gigantic, 16-megawatt offshore turbine in just 24 hours by using a self-learning AI which simulated every step of the production process.
Let's not forget about the hydroelectric dam (Yangqu) China is 3D printing right now.
Stumbled upon Revux - potential next crypto giant!
Hard to imagine something this strange looking being the only work truck on the US and Global Market but this is for now anyways absolutely true. Dodge Ram, Ford F-Series and General Motors have a lot of work to do going forward but so does Tesla as well. Still this vehicle is going to remain in truly awesome demand for the foreseeable future so good luck getting any on the cheap anywhere at the moment. Not very good at towing and the actuating tonneau cover is problem in need of a solution not sure what to make of so much glass plus the rear view mirror is useless with side view mirrors barely any better. I don't see Rivian offering up a serious threat to Cybertruck in the meantime. Plus for guys and gals spending too much time in the field they'll have the ultimate excuse in trying to figure out how their work truck actually works.
All Tesla vehicles have side cameras that show a real time color image of side view on the large central monitor. This along with a moving depiction of all surrounding vehicles on the touch screen.
The Cybertruck has a rear camera which can be switched on at any time for a rear view.
Millions of people who drive trucks and vans and tow trailers don't have a view to the rear. It's something one becomes accustomed to.
It's not a work truck. lol
Tesla is making money on each unit sold, can’t say the same for Ford. That’s a big deal. If I had to choose of course Tesla wins. Ford has a rust problem with their truck, always has. And that’s also a big deal. I had a F150 and it cost a fortune in gas. My wife has a Y and after 50k miles I just add windshield washer fluid. Cost about 1/10 to run on electricity (.13 cents per kilowatt)
What I've heard about sales, though, is that the Cybertruck is seeing many cancellations, so I wonder how many people will actually choose that. But Tesla's shenanigans and Elon Musk's extremist rantings on what used to be Twitter have hurt Tesla because more people are deciding they want nothing to do with a madman (and many of what would have been his target customers do now perceive him to be a neofascist madman, or something not that far off). So I wonder how long they will last.
Can't see liberal gay boys being the market for cyber trucks anyway so I don't think his political leanings will affect sales as much as say it might for the cars. Stupid liberals should realise however add buying non-american electric cars tends to support a Chinese dictatorship
you look like if Abraham lincon and bigfoot had a baby
👍👍
Most of the people buying a cybertank aren't people that need a pickup truck.
Most of the people buying any pickup truck aren't people that need a pickup truck.
So what?
FOMO kicking in as Revux partners with merchants. Bullish!
No mention of Cybertruck being an absolute disaster.
But Ford is reportedly losing $100,000 on every Lightning it sells - so where is the comparison?
The F150 is a utility truck designed for farmers, construction workers, and the like. Rivian and Cybertrucks are for suburbanites that don't use their trucks as a toolbox. I have a reservation for a Cybertruck, but I think I will have to keep my Ford truck for doing truck things.
Cybertruck has MORE use case than Silverado and Lightning.
Cybertruck is Literally SAFEST truck you can buy.
also very EFFICIENT .
has PERFORMANCE in spades.
@@markplott4820 it has a tiny frunk with no power. High bed walls are also problematic. There are tons of reviews that came to same conclusion. Just because these things are not important to you does not mean it's not important to many of us trades people that do. Stop being a fan boy. It actually turns people off. If you want a CT get one. If you want a lightning get one.
Cybertruck is currently only selling the 'suburbanite version' due to demand. In a couple years they will sell the utility version for less money. Self driving will make a huge difference - you can work on a laptop or the phone while you drive long distances. Also, a zero fuel cost could be a thing for a working truck.
Then why does it have a dual cab and not a tray back?
@@markplott4820as long as you're in it.
Hey Viking, when are you gonna do a video on Toyota 's record profits?
Yen has dropped in value big time. All Japanese car producers are having a party 😀
Profit looks into the past. Share price looks into the future. What are Toyota going to sell when the various EV mandates kick in? Toyota is the greatest car company of the last 50 years but that does not guarantee the next 50.
Tell that crap to their bank account.🤣
I'd go for the Silverado EV. 440 miles range and 350 kW charging speed.
It is very heavy and drives like a truck though, but it does look sharp. If you need TRUCK LIKE capability for towing, good choice. If you want something that will be more nimble and car-like and do what 95% of Americans do with trucks and you don't mind the looks, CT is a great way to go. Also, if FSD interests you, then that is going to be available for CT very soon also.
Silverado is great. But cybertruck is unlike any truck I’ve ever driven. It drives like a sports coupe and has tons of cool tech. Not great for towing 500 miles but great for all my work within a 300 mile range.
Rivian's quality is suspect. I've heard too many stories of Rivian's turning into bricks and requiring towing hundreds of miles to one of their mechanics. No thanks
Rivian R1S owner here. My 6 month old Rivian has been flawless. Greatest truck I’ve ever owned by far,
Rivian wields are very CRAPPY.
Its not a fair comparison because Ford sell ICE pick ups too.

@markplott4820 the Ford Ranger is the best selling vehicle in Australia.
@@neildolan7177 - sorry to hear that .

Well, one big problem with Rivian = way, way, way too expensive to repair. Get a small dent, sign over your first born. Stupid design as it's not readily reparable at a reasonable cost. Also, Rivian might go out of business so there is that.
Cybertruck = what Repair ?
Says a lot about Musk & his business sense. Hes busting a gut to give away his cars, but he has orders for a vehicle that he is very unlikely to fulfil that he could be making money on. This will surely hurt Teslas brand.
I bet your dad most certainly doesnt need a rivian, or any other huge truck either for that matter.
Tesla is probably already outselling in Ford in May
I thought all CT shipments were on hold until they fixed the accelerator pedal problem? With 2 million reservations they should be ahead all they have to do is produce them. Frankly I think it's going to be a flop. What happened to the Hyundai video? Did Sam take it down? Not there anymore.
Cyber truck deliveries(not production) was delayed by a week after which they riveted the acc cover to stop it ever coming loose and deliveries then continued
CT pedals were ALL fixed Already.
Production exceeds 1000+ per day.
It was fixed before the recall. Like a 1000 units had to go back to get a single screw put in.
Time for a baby CT. Slight smaller for the non macho person
I agree. I think that would be really popular
X
The CyberTruck is 3 inches shorter in length than a midsized double cab 6 foot bed Toyota Tacoma. The CT is also shorter in height than the Tacoma.
The CT is 2 inches wider than the Tacoma.
The CT is not big, especially when seen up close and in person.
Another excellent video thanks Sam!
Tesla has over two million deposits. It seems people aren’t falling for the fud. They want the truck.
lol
There are 2M CT orders in front of me. Probably 3 years before I get the call. By then they will be much cheaper, have better range, and FSD will work flawlessly. I want the truck
I'll wait till it comes out with FSD... I can't imagine driving a vehicle without FSD now...
Rivian is done.
The cybertruck looks hideous. Like a mobile restaurant. I dotn believe it will out sell the F-150 Lightning in June. The Lightning is more versatile and functional. Ford did it right all they need to do is improve the range a bit and lower the price
Peiple plann8ng on buying a rivian might benifit from eatchibg videos on gettibg reoaired after minor collisions. One video i saw of a really really minor bump to the rear of a rivian in a very minor accident in a oarkibg lot cost $50 000(fifty thousand) to have it repaired. Thete was no visible damage but the entire rear of the truck is weirdly constructed (munroe has video d8scuss8ng this) it took a suoer long time to get repaired
Thete is also the pr9blem that there are almost no services centres in the us never mind aus. So getting the truck serviced takes for ever and you have ti go really out your wsy to fibd a service centre.
Rivian is loosing a lot of money per truck sold. Many oeople are exoecting rivian to run out of money soon which might mean the end of the company as the car industry us expected to become realky competitive and yiu nit going to ge able to survive sellling each vehicle for $46 000 loss
Sam's dedication to a cause he believes in is unparalleled. However the transition to electric propulsion is a huge step which cannot, or should not, be forced through in the space of a decade. People will only accept a change if there is a benefit to them. A self-charging hybrid does not have any of the problems of a BEV and is more economical than an ICEV as well as producing significantly less pollution in cities. This is the next stage of development in motoring history, and will remain so until batteries and the charging infra-structure improve to the extent of giving BEVs an advantage over hybrids. Instead of being opposed to these, he should be welcoming them. Cybertrucks are poor at towing or carrying heavy loads and are unlikely to succeed once the novelty has worn off. th-cam.com/video/HIs8zudJFzg/w-d-xo.html
Rivian will go out of business in next couple years. Buy one if you want to lose lots on a vehicle. Won’t be worth it.
The Cybertrucks are gonna be sold instantly…always.. for years to come. I’m not dogging Ford… because their EVs are Awesome too … seriously.. try one out!
Sam. In a video a couple of years ago you said the cybertruck would outsell the F150 (ice) by 2024. You were so confident that you said you would eat your shirt on camera if it didn't. You probably should edit that video like you did other videos where you were completely wrong. th-cam.com/video/8eAT5kFUA2g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qYP4j0-YRK9eVdYO
I smell BS. Considering that I see more R1Ts than Cybertrucks.
Electric Viking - CYBERTRUCK in 2024 will OUTSELL the FUD Lightning , Chevy RST EV, RAM 1500 EV , and gmc EV.
Rivian is a nice truck for chicks who have horses - carries a couple of bales of hay. I only see chicks driving them here in socal.
KANDI K32 is a MANS truck.......lol.
If I had to buy a EV truck I’d get the Silverado with the huge battery. I’m not of fan of the cybertruck, it’s just straight ugly.
CT from Tesla is the smart purchase. The way Rivian is burning through their cash, not sure if they'll be around in two years.
Here in Australia, nobody gives a rats arse about electric utes. We call them hair dryers. The big buzz here, TV ads and paper media, is that Kia are bringing a 4x4 Ute to Australia next year to compete with the Ranger and Hilux. It’ll be called the Tasman, it’s diesel, and it’ll be interesting to see if it makes a serious in-road into the highly competitive 4X4 diesel ute market here.
Rivian needs to use MARK "jetto" Jackson to Advertise RIVIAN in Australia.............lol.
Ford is selling 2023’s in 2024
I honestly don’t think Rivian is a good company. They just came in as the worst Electric car company to own by actual consumers. I feel like it’s comparing Toyota to a junk Dodge, Ford, or GM.
gee, just coming to that Conclusion ?
Actually they came in as the #1 in Customer Satisfaction from actual owners. They were rated as lowest reliability by Consumer Reports who won't even be transparent about how they came up with that rating.

WTF? What a ridiculous comment. So he didn’t include used vehicles and just how does that change anything? The amount of rivians on the road doesn’t change. He was stating the amount of new sales, what’s the problem? Did he say any thing about used cyber truck sales?
