I am from.India these matches were widely covered in Indian newspaper especially then newly launched Mid-day . I was appearing for my matric Board exams. Headlines grabbed attention of every passerby at the station stalls like " Akram magic spell flatten England". "Younis demolishes England" and many such.

    Thompson & lillee
    Walsh & Ambrose
McGrath & Warne all were legends of the game no doubt including marshall..roberts..holding..imran BUT what the two 'W's
Have none of them posess...the ability to swing the bowl both ways at high pace in all grounds..pitches and could play in all 3 formats.
There are certainly fast bowlers with more wickets e.g. Pollock..ntini..steyn..Anderson etc.
At the time in there peak there was no 1like them ever....the deadliest fast bowlers ever..period.
Wasim & waqars economy rate and average in both odI's and test matches is out of this world. Especially when legends themselves have picked them in best xii ever by Lara..tendulkar..ponting..Viv Richards have all picked these 2 legends of the gane.
If there was t20 cricket than like now...with limited 4 overs..you tell me who can bowl better at the death than these two magicians...answer no1...
Imran Khan's inheritors.....Wasim & waqar legends of the game.

The Duo of Deadly Ws' Got Under Probe For Ball Tempering But All Technology Failed to Traced Any Doubt Over On These Two All Time Greatest Pair Ever. English Media Got Mad And Gave Them A Tag Deadly Ws'. There's No Pair Like Them In the History Of Test Cricket Since 1877. United Kingdom so you’re telling me that bowlers such as McGrath, Lillee, Marshall, Holding, Pollock, Donald, Ambrose, Walsh, Roberts, Anderson and many more aren’t great because they got batsmen out caught behind instead of bowled? If there was a list of cricket’s worst opinions, then this would be very high
