Waqar is my favourite pace bowler in Cricket. He was difficult to play even when bowling normally. Wonderful line & swing and excellent pace with a smooth run-up and clean bowling action. Had he suffered lesser injuries and played for a few more years - he would have surpassed Wasim Akram in number of wickets in both Tests and ODIs.

Waqar was incredible those days especially 1990-1995 when he was taking wicket after every 37 balls he bowled in test cricket and averaged 20 with the ball.

Superb display of fast bowling by Waqar. In 1998 he was way past his prime and had dropped speed by atleast 10 kph still was unplayable. Such was the mastery of this man.

He was bowling 94mph vs England in 1998/1999. He hadn't lost pace. He just saved himself for certain spells especially the old ball when it started reversing. He would bowl 82-85 with the new ball and then 87-91with the old ball..
He dropped his speed due to continuous groin injuries and it dropped from 156 to 136

He was FAST and swinging the ball left and right atleast 2 feet with a side on action. These days Pakistanis can not bowl like this.

His prime was before the 1996 world cup I think. He had not played 1996 world cup due to injury.
@@prismaticindia9046he played 1996 world cup but his prime was between 89-94 when he had a different bowling action but that action caused huge injuries and he had 2 times back surgeries due to which he remodelled his action.

Such a wonderful bowler. If PCB had used his full potential, he would have taken 600 ODI and 500 Test wickets.
He debut in that match which was Tendulkar debut also.. Also his first wicket was Tendulkar their ages were 15 16 he retired from cricket at age 30 31 in 2003 and Tendulkar played 9 year more after that
Actually when he came back from back injury he was never the same kind of beastly pacer. However when he left national team there were bowlers like Shoaib Akhter, Mohammad Zahid, Sami were knocking at the door
When he retired he still had the pace more than 140. Which a now a new bowler has hardly just at the start of his career and he thinks him to be a super star
Moreover, Pakistani fielders dropped plenty catches which deprived him from more wickets ❤❤❤❤

Waqs and Waz always did well in SA. Fast bowlers paradise and all. The problem was the batting which was woeful. Meaning Pak were short changed in the test series everytime they toured even in their peak. Sub continent teams always struggled. India only recently have bucked the change by fighting fire with fire. What a pace attack India have now!!
Yes and now we wish of our batting line up of Sehwag Dravid Sachin Laxman. 😂😂 these guys couldn't win series in Aus Saf as we didn't have quality pace attack. Although we did draw the series in Aus
@@Ras-al-ghul250 I think IPL is a great launch pad for young Indian fast bowlers to be given a chance. Yadav, Malik both mid 150s plus. Test match cricket though a different ball game. Shami, Bumrah and Siraj have better game intelligence for the longer format.

I somehow suspect that this video doesn't show how the batsmen were set up, why they left the ball in the first place. I am guessing both were straight ones, followed by a few out swingers. in second innings, to Adam basher, he got out to an out swinger. I am guessing he bowled a few incutter/straight ones and then took one away.

Untrue. PAKISTAN won in England a lot. Even until recently we were drawing there. Best record in Asian teams in England.
In Australia we failed because of bowling not Batting...or a mixture of both.
