I took my 2007 K1200GT from Sydney to Hobart and back around 5000km over some back roads (mostly sealed) over 6 weeks. I great touring bike and the cruise control was a blessing. Added a Laminar Lip to the screen (I’m 6ft) and the bug and rain went over my head. A comfortable touring bike. I take regular breaks and found it a comfortable ride. Have previously made the trip twice on a 2002 R1150RT and the K1200 was a more comfortable ride. I just realised I’ve used ‘comfortable’ 3 times - guess that says it all.

Nice video! A 2007 K1200GT is for sale in my area and was curious for some info and that's why I watched your video. They are asking $4,000 which seems reasonable but have only seen photos which look good. I used to have a K1600 GTL which I didn't like at all because it was just to heavy and according to specs I've read the K1200 GT is about 150 pounds lighter so I thought it might be less cumbersome. I guess the only way to find out is to take a test ride. As far as color to paint it, black might be cool.

It's a great bike. I had a 2007 K1200GT and I put 130K miles on it before selling it and buying a used 2009 K1300GT. Enjoy it.

@@edwardcaicedo9353 Mine was pretty reliable. I serviced it religiously, which is probably why it lasted so long. You need to make sure the cam chain tensioner has been changed (I believe that is what it's called). The original one had a tendency to break off and bounce around the engine. There was a major recall by BMW to replace that piece. I used my K1200 for everything... commuting, short trips around San Francisco and longer road trips. It's a blast to ride and I highly recommend one. Just make sure to review the service records.
